- Whatwedo, on 01/22/2008, -0/+46A top 10 list on digg not from Cracked.com!?
- theperiodman, on 01/22/2008, -0/+38I had no idea there was a Little Nicky game... I can only imagine.
- coltrane68, on 01/22/2008, -1/+34The Godfather game was actually quite good. The integration with characters that we have grown to love is solid, and the quality of the sandbox design is much better than most GTA games. Most importantly, the missions are often really fun.
- Konstantino, on 01/22/2008, -0/+28I've personally never seen the movie, but it's pretty ridiculous to make a game out of a movie that was already BASED on a game.
- centran, on 01/22/2008, -0/+26Chronicles of Riddick. That one is probably the top most surprisingly good games from a movie ever.
- r2builder, on 01/22/2008, -3/+25Was anyone else unfortunate enough to have ET for the Atari 2600? If you don't know about it, read here:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/E.T._the_Extra-Terres ... They ended up throwing a load of the carts into a landfill, as they wouldn't sell. - cosmicr, on 01/22/2008, -0/+20that controversial movie about those two gay guys and the mountain.
I think it was called 'The lord of the rings' - fridenstrom, on 01/22/2008, -0/+19Mmmh... X-wing Alliance ? Alien vs Predator ? Chronicles of Riddick ?
- inactive, on 01/22/2008, -1/+18Lego Star Wars
- afex, on 01/22/2008, -1/+18sorry, i was going to say goldeneye, but didn't see that its already been mentioned...

- inactive, on 01/22/2008, -0/+13After re-reading the article it seems the only reason he mentioned The Godfather was because the movie is so good. What a stupid reason to bash a game that everyone seems to think was pretty good. By that logic, they can only make games based on bad movies, but then he says other movies were too bad to warrant games. He needs to make up his mind, he sounds like a woman.
- BoneheadFarker, on 01/22/2008, -0/+12That movie was one of the biggest rip-offs of my childhood. I expected big colourful scenery, magic mushrooms, killer turtles, lovable dinosaurs, and squashed goombas. What I got was a depressing post-apocolyptic Mushroom Kingdom run by a bunch of ***** turtles in unifoms standing on 2 legs. Whoever made that should be put up against the wall next to George Lucas and Rick Berman for pissing on my childhood...
- B1gB3nh69, on 01/22/2008, -1/+11isnt it common knowledge that games from movies suck??
please reply with exceptions - slimjim5811, on 01/22/2008, -0/+91996
- unicronband, on 01/22/2008, -0/+9Well, Alien and Predator were both movies before AvP the game, which followed as a movie. Still pretty screwy though.
- unicronband, on 01/22/2008, -2/+11The original Simpsons arcade game. I know it's based on a show and not a movie, but TV show-based games are usually even worse. That game was ***** *****.
- exomni, on 01/22/2008, -2/+11And it's not funny, either.
Coincidence? I think not. - BoneheadFarker, on 01/22/2008, -0/+9Kylie Minogue was in that movie? Damn...I completely missed that. I think I was too focused on Ming Na...
EDIT: Kristen Kreuk is set to play Chun Li in the next movie...
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0891592/fullcredits#ca ... - inactive, on 01/22/2008, -2/+11AvP came out years before the movie.
- doctechnical, on 01/22/2008, -0/+8As soon as I read the title I thought of the corollary - top 10 video games that didn't need movies. Street Fighter, Doom, Super Mario Bros....
- dark2025, on 01/22/2008, -0/+8Blade Runner.
- unicronband, on 01/22/2008, -0/+8Debbie Does Dallas
- Pxtl, on 01/22/2008, -0/+8Exception: games that were released nowhere near the time the movie came out. X-wing Alliance, Blade Runner, and AvsP, as posted above are good examples. And apparently the Godfather game was actually rather nice.
But in general, any licensed product should be viewed with suspicion - that even includes video-game franchises where a completely different company has bought the license. Particularly when it came out under a tight deadline (as happens with movie games and launch titles). - likwidfuzion, on 01/22/2008, -0/+8Dugg for the Street Fighter circle.
- johnsonjoeb, on 01/22/2008, -0/+7ECHO the Dolphin?!! ECCO, bitch! ECCO!
- Bilabrin, on 01/22/2008, -0/+7To take that even further, a few of these were books that didn't need movies!
- unicronband, on 01/22/2008, -0/+7I thought it was awesome. Throwing wise guys into ovens, taking over warehouses, extorting business...
It's probably one of the only games I've ever played to near total completion. - Chigaimasu, on 01/22/2008, -2/+9Hey, that Super Mario Bros movie was pretty cool.
- YankeeSR23, on 01/22/2008, -0/+7There were 2 games that featured Batman and Robin
This one was based on the George Clooney movie:

The other was based on the cartoon:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Adventures_of_Bat ... - inactive, on 01/22/2008, -0/+6I have heard only good things about it, I haven't played it, but all the reviews I read were positive. Does anyone remember the Jaws for NES? Now that was a bad game!
- angusm, on 01/22/2008, -0/+6Doodz, I am totally going to pwn all of you in "The Bridges of Madison County" and "Sleepless in Seattle" videogames. For reasons of personal pride, however, I will not be playing the "Daddy Daycare" first-person shooter.
- r2builder, on 01/22/2008, -0/+6So it'll be a movie of a game of a movie? Sounds like a terrible, terrible idea.
- centran, on 01/22/2008, -0/+6You do have a point. Even though it may appear like utter crap little kids just love it.
Hell one of the crappiest games that I played was home alone. Thinking back on it; it was utter crap... but hey! I played it. - solidus636, on 01/22/2008, -0/+5She's hot...
- JohnsonGotOwned, on 01/22/2008, -0/+5I don't get why the Godfather game was there. I thought it was a really good game. Though I do agree with the Napoleon Dynamite game... I remember that...
- drwim, on 01/22/2008, -0/+5Star Wars....
- ryan899, on 01/22/2008, -0/+5The Goonies II for NES rocked my socks
- 5urr3al5am, on 01/22/2008, -1/+6Ferris Bueller's Day Off /Sic
- Familyguykiller, on 01/22/2008, -0/+5I love the Godfather game...on the Wii it's great chocking digital people makes me happy!!!
- inactive, on 01/22/2008, -0/+5Or a great one! No wait, you're right.
- Centorio, on 01/22/2008, -0/+4For once I agree with every game on this list.
- Computer_Kid, on 01/22/2008, -0/+4And it received a decent review! 8/10 by IGN!?
http://gameboy.ign.com/articles/165/165294p1.html - suinmind, on 01/22/2008, -0/+4how about Video GAMES which don't need movies?
- JohnsonGotOwned, on 01/22/2008, -3/+7Umm, clearly you never realized that Tomb Raider 1 came out in like, 1993..
- loquedesea, on 01/22/2008, -0/+4RTFA
- taintedzodiac, on 01/22/2008, -0/+4Considering there had already been a couple of Anime movies at that point, it was pretty much just a cash in.
