Plus he is a pathetic choice for Eddie Brock if the rumors pan out, buff or not, he's a total douche-***** and poor choice.

On another rant- Grace as venom=crap. Don't give me this "Ultimate spider man" crap...this isn't an Ultimate spider man movie. The Ultimate universe follows an entirely different story line, if they suddenly make the jump to the Ultimate story line many people will get mad. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy the ultimate universe...but they didn't start out with that story line, so it doesn't make sense to jump over to it. Also, total CG venom? Doesn't anyone remember that horrible movie called "Hulk" where they had a Giant CG creature....he looked horrible and too unrealistic. On a side note, look how small Eddie Brock is compared to Venom in the new Ultimate Spiderman Game. Eddie is tiny next to Venom who looks about 8 feet tall. If you remember, people were saying the exact same thing about Tobey Macguire playing Peter Parker/Spider-man back before the 1st Spider-man movie was released, his(Tobey's) strongest movie up until Spider-man had been Wonder Boys and people were saying the exact same thing back then about ruining the character of Spider-man. Here's an idea, don't judge Spider-man 3 until you've had a chance to view it so quit your complaining and deal with the facts.

Raimi is the man. He has made Spiderman into a real superhero. I'd rather see more personal characters relative to Spidey's life. Lizard, Hobby Gobby, Green Goblin, Venom. these characters are a focus in both peter parker and spiderman's personas. makes for a better movie.

I've spent the last two weeks explaining to people why Flash Thompson wasn't Venom. (BTW, Eddie Brock was briefly mentioned in Spider-Man 1: JJJ: [Brock's been trying to get pictures of this guy for weeks!]

So I think it will be the same with Topher Grace. They'll hop him up on steroids and he will bulk up. He's going to do fine, just wait and see.

- tarZen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've been waiting for Venom to make an appearance in the movies since the first installment. Visually he's the coolest Spider-Man villain ever. The Spider-Man movies have been the best superhero films of all time, at least in terms of how the heroes and villains look real and fantastic at the same time. I'm sure Venom's gonna look great.
- darkenin13, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I don't think anyone has a problem with his acting abilities, I beleive the issue everyone has is that fact that he looks nothing like Brock. According to the comics Eddie Brock is Age: around 30 Height: 6'3" Weight: 260 lbs, Grace does not even come close to this.
Also Eddie Brock is a buff New Yorker who has the apperance of a person with a thick voice. Grace still sounds like he is going through puberty. Can you picture 8 foot Venom with a teenager voice. In the cartoon Hank Azaria did the voice.
One other issue is Eddie Brock was already in Spiderman 1 Look http://us.imdb.com/name/nm0263472/

- Giddygoon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Venom would rock. Topher's great to watch on screen, and I have no problem with him playing a villain, but he just doesn't come close to the look of Eddie Brock. Not to mention that Venom's back story is just as interesting as his powers.
If they do it - It wouldn't be worth paying admission, but might be worth sneaking in. -
