- ryanmm, on 10/12/2007, -4/+70They better deliver...this movie has been a long time coming
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+52And people ask themselves why digg is dumbing down...could it be because of users like you? Is it not about a movie? Can it not actually be in the movies section then? *****, I just wasted a whole minute on you...
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -6/+47Sorry but I don't believe that if something is in video format it necessarily has to be in the videos section.
- thumbup, on 10/12/2007, -6/+42I get the feeling that this movie will be massively overhyped and people will be dissapointed.
- dashiel, on 10/12/2007, -2/+35no those scenes have been around for a while, december 22nd i do believe.
you can see here... http://www.apple.com/trailers/ - neggbird, on 10/12/2007, -3/+23ratsoid-
The second half is different. - lhnz, on 10/12/2007, -7/+21And yet it will still be good, but loads of people will go on about how it was so "over rated by the public" and act all snobbily about their taste in movies. yes?
- ChillyEli, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15Look at you go. Twice in one post.
You even copied the reply button. Cool. - cardyology, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15come on guys, be a bit more positive! who cares which section its in...its the simpsons movie. this series has totally gone towards shaping our lives in some small way, so we should all be totally excited. even if its crap, it wont reflect badly on the simpsons empire, cos like i said...its the simpsons man.
- duddles, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12I don't want to oversell it - but it's going to be better than ten Super Bowls!
- Kamisado, on 10/12/2007, -3/+13Ratsoid did you actually watch the trailer? The first half is the same, but theres two new scenes in the second half.
- lhnz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Don't click. It's obviously spam.
:( - robdiggity, on 10/12/2007, -4/+13Really, this is brilliant - this is like digging down the potential diabetes cure story in the NYT, posted in a health/medicine category, for not being posted in a text/newsprint category.
No one cares about the medium by which the particular content is delivered - the point is what is the story about. - metalgod79, on 10/12/2007, -5/+14I dont know, I think the Tomaco episode was from like season 12, one of the best episodes ever.. TOOOOOOOMAAAAAAAAAAAACOOOOOOOO!
- primehifi, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12"Oatmeal Enthusiasts"
- ChillyEli, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12All I read was "spam spa-spam spam spam mcspam spam://spam.spam.com/spam?spam=spam+spam"
Must be my language settings - Blackmane, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9The second movie trailer has been out ages and people are only starting to digg it. Have i missed something?
- CornStarch, on 10/12/2007, -7/+13You can' just slap Simpsons on something and expect it to be funny. No one has proved they can write a single funny episode of the Simpsons since season 10, let alone an entire movie.
- profOblivion, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7So let's get this straight. You got dugg down once and accused of spamming. So you copy, paste and post again in the same thread, copying the reply button as well. People point out your screw-up, so you post a THIRD time in the same thread?
If I paid you to spam for me I'd sure as hell hope you could do a better job than this. Go away. - cybersnafu, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8I'm already disappointed. I wanted the ***** bunny. ***** BUNNY, DAMN YOU!
- brianbennett, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I sure hope those aren't the 'best bits.'
- darkstar949, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5This is also a movie trailer, ergo, it can go in either section.
- appletalk, on 10/12/2007, -4/+9What if it's news in video format?
In this case, it's the "new" Simpsons trailer, it's something being announced, it does qualify for news, not for the video section. - msomers, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Direct link to Apple's site which has the trailer in HD:
http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/thesimpsonsmovie/ - KlayBorg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I really really hope they can get back some of their origional flair, rather than the slapstick injury based "humor" that they have shown in both trailers (1st trailer:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XnCR3fAVPWs&mode=related&search=)
- dadiggdog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4im not sure whether it is that the series has become less funny as the seasons have passed by, but still with inertia, or its just that ive grown older and lost sense of humor. im afraid it will be too difficult for the film to match the standard of the series. i remember hilarious episodes as "the call of the simpsons" and another one called "you only move twice" where homer works for that terrorist guy of the globex company. or that one where bart sells his soul to milhouse. those were good times...but theres no chance i will miss the film anyway
will give it a try : )
excellent !!!
might be a good idea to actually see the best episodes screened on the cinema :) - PacoDG, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5No, you missed nothing, its all the people who are digging this who have.
Honestly though, check out higher quality version of this trailer here:
http://www.digg.com/movies/New_Simpsons_Trailer_released_today - drthipp, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5reminds me of the time homer hammers a drill into a camera.
"Lisa please. I sacrificed a very expensive camera to get some quiet time." - caddoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4It sucks though when trailers give the best bits of the movie away, a really good example is bruce almighty.
- OlnyGuy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I can't wait for this movie. Being a die hard Simpsons fan most of my life, I really wish that I won't be disappointed.
- optikalblitz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5@cardyology,
couldn't agree more. i was nervous at first..and doubtful that they could pull it off. but even if the movie isn't the funniest thing i've ever seen, i'm going to stand behind it. the satirical nature of this cartoon is a characteristic that other animated series have failed to so maturely and cleverly implement! so i feel at ease; groening & co. must have somethin up their collective sleeve for us. - Joshuarr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5@lhnz
Personally, I think the rules are don't be a *****. - markdr123, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3All I've seen so far from this movie is slapstick...none of the trademark intelligence I've come to love The Simpsons for.
- DollaDollaBill, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3@Elranzer I couldn't agree with you more. The show should have stopped when futurama started. I has been horrible for many years. the writing is horrible and not funny. the sad part is from about season 2 to 8/9 almost every episode was a tv gem. so sad.
- whiledo, on 03/25/2009, -2/+5@lhnz
No, actually you got it right. You shouldn't read too much into the score on your comment.
The system is a little faulty, but it's new so give it time. There should really just be a tag that says "this is a video", which wouldn't use it's own list of topics as the system does now. And maybe one for "this is audio". The default tag would be "this is html". Personally, I like having separate sections depending on the medium of the broadcast. They just need to have a setting in the your profile that determines if you want video and audio to get it's own section or if you want it all meshed together like it used to be. - navster15, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I suppose it's irrelevant how bad or good the movie is. I've been watching The Simpsons for as long as I can remember, and even though I will say that the latest episodes are god awful, I know that I have suckled on Matt Groening's teat long enough that I will have to see this movie. I may not enjoy it, but I've invested far too much in this show to not see the movie.
- sideshowRAHEEM, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Hopefully there will be an appearance by my favorite character Sideshow Raheem.
- fantasmacanino, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Those are my thoughts exactly. Whatever happened to the lovable idiot that once was Homer? Now he's just an idiot.
- boxlight, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Am I the only one who wants to see the movie about the Bunny? It's beautiful.
- Elranzer, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Let's just hope the plot synopsis doesn't somehow include "...and now Homer must save his family..."
- BasouKazuma, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5The comedy seems just as bad as any of the recent Simpson's episodes. I was expecting more. Hopefully they're saving all the good stuff for when the movie is released.
- wirah, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3They have so much to live up to!
I hope it doesn't flop.
Theyre gona need a SERIOUS story.
Homer has to die to make this a success ! - wonderboy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I'm really hoping this movie is good, but I always say the show jumped the shark when Phil Hartman was murdered.
- macsith, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Who are the Simpson?
- derphilipp, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yes, I really feel sorry for Homer - the "accidents" happening to Homer are getting cruel more and more over the time.
Like the time he played the Panda for Mr. Burns - poor Homer...
Of course there were always accidents happening to Homer but they mostly were very comic-style or quite harmless....
I beg to stop of the abuse of Homers! - stryker2you, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Yeah I'll click the link, download then burn....and I'll have hypnotherapy WHEN??
/from a Simpson's episode. - mpancha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Someone else kinda already saidit, but with too much of an explanation, here's a link to all the trailers on apple's trailers site:
http://www.apple.com/trailers/fox/thesimpsonsmovie/
Its got the teaser and both current trailers. Better quality than a youtube video as well. - Vrevolution, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2What da *****, this trailer is not new, it been out for like weeks now
- lhnz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2"Homer has to die to make this a success!"
Hahahahaha. That's the funniest thing I have read for weeks. - Twist96, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Guys, come on, it wasn't exactly the biggest joke set-up. Unlike shows like Family Guy, most of the jokes have something to with the plot. Certain jokes could reveal plot elements. You could also say that maybe the writers have had writer's block in the last few shows, in prep for this movie.
