-NOT! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10The MPAA is a group of VOLUNTEERS who do nothing but bitch and bitch over movies that they barely know anything about. One of them recently commented to an interviewer by saying "I don't watch movies that often"
For more on the truth behind the MPAA, see Kirby Dick's This Film Is Not Yet Rated - tidu, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9The truth hurts
- patience, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7Yet a guy blowing things up or some tramp half dressed (most movie posters) is fine.
- hobgobbler, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4no, you shut up
- Dradis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5So if it depicted waterboarding it would be fine, since, according to the current administration that isn't torture?
- Stonedonkey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Uh, is it contravention of their code to allow a depiction of torture, or a contravention to censor the image based on the reason given? And also, am I just supposed to take this guy's word for it? Is this some "insider" blog?
Meh. - carpespasm, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4jumper cables to the sack hurt at least as much.
- xrisnothing, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Wait, so a depiction of torture = bad, but actual torture = good?
- carpespasm, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4yeah, but those things sell tickets better, the only time people like to see anything about torture is when it's their personal savior being tortured.

- jbsnyder, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I would say you've picked poor examples here. Explosions need not include violence to humans, and nudity and sex are about as natural as things can be. Torture, on the other hand is not. A better complaint would be with regards to how loads of fictitious violence makes it happily through the ratings board with lower ratings than anything that includes any nudity whatsoever, but how depictions of real-world violence that people should know about is rejected. The censors live in a fantasy world, where blazing gun battles are normal, sex is entirely taboo, and real violence can't be hinted at for fear of offending someone.
- unpurposed, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2More consideration is given to entertainment that to the Geneva Conventions. Glad to see where priorities lie.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have a better idea. Let's just dump them into the sea and fill 'er up with the next batch of terrorist losers. It's God's will, after all.

- sideshowRAHEEM, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Just another example on how governmental and corporate censorship are ruining entertainment.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1xrisnothing so you're saying the MPAA tortures? How is the average passerby going to know that it's a 'depiction' of torture. ;)
- xrisnothing, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Yes, don't you remember them joining the MAFIAA a while back?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1awww dont be such a bitch just because I handed your ass to you
raApe - aratika, on 10/12/2007, -7/+3Tell you what: come up with a better idea. Maybe they can come and live with you? Otherwise - shut the ***** up.
