'The Oscars as it should be'...

oscartorrents.com — You've got to wonder why it didn't happen before. OscarTorrents invites you to download all the movies nominated for Oscars this year and then rate them, giving a view of what the Internets think is the best movie of the year. Contains links to hard-to-find Oscars nominations on existing trackers. Bets on if they stay up 'til Oscars night?

    • Schda, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Or if you want to purchase a real copy because you support the movie, but don't want to wait for it to come state side you can order at amazon.co.uk You do need to have a region free DVD player and one that converts PAL to NTSC if you live in the US.... but a lot of DVD players already do that, especially the cheaper ones.

    And? Visual effects is not limited to cutting edge technology (and technically this is new technology, in the way it was implemented, i.e. using computer generated vector graphics) but rather it can apply to a movie that uses existing techniques to enhance the experience...

You can't vote 5 for direction then 3 for a nominated actor from that same movie. It's a cool idea (the voting, no comment on the torrent aspect) that's pretty much broken in it's current state.

    • SanTe, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Amen. "Fight Club" is a better and more interesting film than "American Beauty," which was given the Best Picture Oscar for 1999. The only possible better film that year was "The Insider."

      I liked the premise of "American Beauty" but thought it came up short in what it actually had to say and came across as a little pretentious. Could've been better.
