- paintgrl, on 06/28/2009, -5/+172I personally am looking forward to this movie, the trailer seems to follow the Animated series, which was fantastic.
- Rawkus, on 06/28/2009, -4/+156I kid you not, Avatar the animated TV show is amazing. I fear this adaptation.
- bonarez, on 06/28/2009, -1/+119Agreed the series was fantastic, but that's why I'm afraid the movie won't ever reach the same quality
- KingGorilla, on 06/28/2009, -2/+111Please don't ***** it up! Please don't ***** it up!
- protogenxl, on 06/28/2009, -2/+86This blogger is trying to hard to be edgy
- shdwfthsun, on 06/28/2009, -3/+84More like M. Night Shyamalan's Last Shot at Regaining Respectability.
- nemogbr, on 06/28/2009, -16/+85Revival of the White Ninja Kid phenomenon.

- nellshini, on 06/28/2009, -1/+55The fire nation did attack an air temple while Aang was visiting in one episode, but not with a force that strong. I think the scene was simply for the trailer, though.
- rockon4life45, on 06/28/2009, -22/+75WE ALL SAW THIS IN TRANSFORMERS (I DID)
RIP BILLIE MAYS - dlberk, on 06/28/2009, -4/+45Of all the directors in all the world......
- Aethra, on 06/28/2009, -0/+39Question one. Yes, yes, and yes.
Question two. It is predominately targeted for children but has many undercurrents that adults will find appealing. The series will appeal to many at different levels. Those interested in martial arts will enjoy how each element follows a traditional Chinese form. - AraleNorimaki, on 06/29/2009, -2/+41"Hollywood is crazy. The Last Samurai starring Tom Cruise? He's the last samurai? Give me a break. That movie was offensive. Hollywood is crazy. First they had The Mexican with Brad Pitt, and now they got The Last Samurai with Tom Cruise? Well I've written a film. Maybe they'll produce my film: The Last ***** on Earth starring Tom Hanks. How bout that?"

HE'S THE BEST!
AROUUUUUND!
NOTHING'S EVER GUNNA KEEP HIM DOWN! - cerealjynx, on 06/29/2009, -0/+36It's Morgan Freeman.
- NiMip, on 06/28/2009, -2/+33What ***** The?
- McLumpy, on 06/28/2009, -0/+31Avatar is the kind of show both kids and adults find appealing, which is why it's got such a wide fanbase. It's got a surprisingly mature storyline, gorgeous fight scenes, and incredibly well-developed characters. Believe me, it's worth watching.
- Lain1k, on 06/28/2009, -2/+33I loved the series but I am very weary of this. So far I don't care for the choice of actors on any of the characters (Dev Patel as Zuko?) and the Aang looks very sloppy in the trailer (friend said he looked like the star wars kid). But I will probably see this. Lets just hope it doesn't turn into Dragonball Evolution.
- Viciousblade, on 06/28/2009, -1/+27Agreed....He's also being way too hard on what is a teaser trailer of very little. Trust me, I'm not an M. Night Shamalamadingdong fan at all (and wish it was a different person doing the movie) but I am looking forward to this movie and hope he doesn't rape the series.
- AeroZeppelin, on 06/28/2009, -0/+26Because white guys are playing Asian roles or because the movie looks inherently *****?
- kinseyincanada, on 06/28/2009, -1/+26Is the series worth getting into? Is it more for children or our there darker more adult themes in it?
- DaBrownGuy13, on 06/28/2009, -4/+29Do NOT underestimate M. Knight Shyamalan's ability to ***** things up!
EDIT: Don't get me wrong, I love this show; however I have always been (and still am) concerned with Shyamalan at the helm of this adaptation...PLEASE PROVE ME WRONG! =/ - fxu1989, on 06/29/2009, -0/+24WHERE'S MOMO?
- Keicharones, on 06/28/2009, -0/+24I was skeptical at first... but I ended up watching the entire first book in one day. Do it.
- duniyadnd, on 06/28/2009, -3/+26I didn't know Indian people were not Asian... Geography must have changed ever since I graduated high school
- toe_head2001, on 06/28/2009, -2/+25Somehow, I don't think is going to be as good as the show was.
- Zendour, on 06/28/2009, -6/+28Why is Aang at an Airtemple when the fire nation attacks? ...
- NiMip, on 06/28/2009, -0/+21Jesus, I hope to hell they don't screw this up
- duniyadnd, on 06/28/2009, -0/+20So far he's only screwed up his own storylines, his own plots. This time, he's got a universe which he did not create, and a plot which doesn't need a surprise ending, thankfully, the creators of the show are on board as producers, I'm sure they won't let the movie get too far off track.
- absent14, on 06/28/2009, -3/+23Who lit all those candles? And why would you take the time to do that when there are people scaling up a cliff to kill you?
- jhyeti, on 06/28/2009, -1/+21looks really cool
- dhjackburton, on 06/29/2009, -4/+23Hi, I'm Anime, i don't think we've met...
- Wuss, on 06/29/2009, -1/+20@ Vagrantwade.. Let me take you on a tour of the dark world of tae kwon do (and many other americanized martial arts)
Black belt in tae kwon do means absolutely nothing. I've never seen nor heard of a tae kwon do studio that wouldn't sell a black belt to a kid for the right price. Some places pretty much guarantee you a black belt within XX months. Parent's love to see their 6 year olds running around with that big false sense of accomplishment.
Between white and black, most places have an arbitrary number of colors and "fractional" colors (like white belt, 1 yellow stripe, 2 yellow stripes, etc.) specifically to fleece the parents for more money. For every belt and/or incremental notch, parents have to pay 50, 100, sometimes 200+ bucks for "tests". Add up the tests for 10+ belts and notches.... you do the math. And of course everyone who pays passes.
The place I went to as a kid (stereotypically required of most korean boys at a certain age), was one of the few places that still dished out physical punishments and failed you on tests a la ol' school. (Ex. grown men walking on 10 yr old stomachs as we did 6inch leg lifts, holding heavy objects above our heads for long periods of time for doing something wrong, etc.) They started mainstreaming to pay the bills (and also when non-korean parents enrolling more, due to those pesky abuse laws!), and lo and behold, 8 yr old black belts started popping up. My parents prohibited me from taking the regularly scheduled tests (held at least once every month or two) because they didn't feel like I was ready, but the truth was there was nothing to be ready for.
During sparring sessions, my instructors would ask me to take it easy on the fast-lane black belts because they didn't know what they were doing. A lot of school outcasts enrolled too (like Ralph Macchio in Karate Kid).. parents enrolling them for self-esteem and ***** like that. The one thing tae kwon do was good for in real world application was discipline, but that too has been lost.
Nowadays, its mostly kids who grow up watching power rangers and want to join a school for the novelty of wearing asian clothes, generally followed by questions of when they get to learn how to use katana's like Leonardo, (which tae kwon do traditionally does not use any sanctioned weapons, but many schools have incorporated due to popular morphin demand!).
As a self-defense, tae kwon do and any traditional asian martial art is pretty much useless. If anything it gives a false sense of security to people who think they're safe. If you're serious about self defense, I'd recommend boxing, thai boxing, brazilian jujitsu, or any of the more free-form martial arts that have a foundation in street fighting. - KingGorilla, on 06/28/2009, -1/+19cartoon
- ghatid, on 06/29/2009, -0/+18Was that sung in Billy Mays' voice?
- clouds31, on 06/29/2009, -0/+17WHAT A TWIST!
- nard3456, on 06/29/2009, -1/+17*TOO
- edrainkona, on 06/28/2009, -5/+21Why can't they keep animated series animated?
- vagrantwade, on 06/28/2009, -0/+16He meant he wasn't in an iceberg in the trailer. Which doesn't mean anything, because why would you assume this teaser is at the beginning of the film.
And since it is a teaser, it probably has nothing to do with the film itself. - Legoman513, on 06/28/2009, -1/+17All of your comments will suck, currently suck, and have sucked.
- noahgelman, on 06/29/2009, -1/+16When you think about, unless he knew fire bending at that time, he had to light all those candles one by one
- LonelyTylenoL, on 06/28/2009, -1/+16Yeah....he was in an iceberg.....first episode.....
What are you smoking?
And more importantly, why aren't you sharing? - LibertyPrime, on 06/28/2009, -6/+21He may look the part, but can he make Shyamalan's ***** writing work? that's the important question. The guy hasn't had a good movie since The Sixth Sense.
- spectre_25gt, on 06/29/2009, -0/+14After reading your comment it was.
- vagrantwade, on 06/28/2009, -0/+14Just to pre-empt some of the inevitable posts;
Not everyone in A:TLAB is Asian. The entire Water Nation is Inuit. There are plenty who are clearly Caucasian as well. The creators themselves said that the only ones who are clearly ASIAN, is the Fire Nation. As people from the Earth Nation seem to be mixed. - hiphopfred, on 06/28/2009, -1/+15Youtube HD link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OfsojNtU9yQ&eur ...
- blueelement15, on 06/28/2009, -1/+15I'll watch the first two minutes for the achievement points.
- oriondr, on 06/29/2009, -4/+18That kid looks a lot like Aang. Probably more than an asian kid.. and the cartoon is actually american not japanese/asian.
- Viciousblade, on 06/28/2009, -10/+23Yes but this kid actually has a black belt in Tae Kwon Do at 12 years old so I'm not really going to worry about it. He looks like a good Aang in my opinion, hopefully his acting is as phenomenal as his fighting skill although all he has to do is, well, act like a 12 year old.
