- bjs3171, on 05/21/2008, -1/+52what hulk movie from a few years ago? there was no hulk movie a few years ago. i have no clue as to what you could possibly be referring to. why did you say there was a hulk movie a few years ago?
- chanop, on 05/21/2008, -1/+28Edward Norton FTW!
- NCSUspoon, on 05/21/2008, -1/+24It's more like a 'that-never-happened-do-over'
- Dtopler, on 05/21/2008, -2/+24I'm no comic book fan, let alone expert, so can someone explain to me the difference between this movie and the Hulk, which was released a few years ago?
- DarkSpoon, on 05/21/2008, -2/+18Apparently the one a few years ago sucked really hard so they are acting like it was never made. This is one of the movies Marvel is making that lead up the super awesome Avengers movie staring all the major characters from these movies.
- EliteEagleX, on 05/21/2008, -1/+16Same reason Batman Begins was better than Batman and Robin?
- honthraj, on 05/21/2008, -0/+15The HULK directed by Ang Lee did not truly fulfill a "superhero" movie genre. Ang Lee, best known for films such as ICE STORM, BROKEBACK MOUNTAIN, and CROUCHING TIGER, HIDDEN DRAGON chose to focus more so on the psychological history of Dr. Bruce Banner with his abusive father who had murdered his mother.
There were action scenes of the Hulk causing mass, wanton destruction, but the scenes were almost gratuitous lip service to the superhero genre. It just seemed that the director could not decide on what sort of film he was making and had not focus.
My favorite part was when Nick Nolte bit into an electric cable, he became an "Absorbing Man" of sorts (not part of the comic book storyline). You could see it in his eyes. "Finally, I'm outa here. Give me my check so I can go home."
I was at the NYCComicCon and probably saw the same scenes. The focus appears to be more in line with the comic book where there is a comparable nemesis - The Abomination - and massive destruction ensues.
The problem is - Edward Norton is refusing to help with the marketing of the film, since he is dissatisfied with the end-product. This could be telling of a movie that just misses the mark again, or that Norton is an effete snob.
Hard to say until the movie is released, but from what I saw - The Hulk scenes just don't pass for me. He still looks too much like a CGI cartoon. - mpfarmer, on 05/21/2008, -1/+15Why is that man green?
- NovaPrime9, on 05/21/2008, -1/+15No. They're trying to forget the movie "Hulk" ever existed. This isn't a sequel, it's a reboot. That's to the best of my knowledge, anyway.
- rlray216, on 05/21/2008, -5/+18If this movie is half as cool as the trailers seem to indicate, then it will be cool indeed.
- skidoooo, on 05/21/2008, -5/+18This one will be good whereas the other one wasn't.
- o0joshua0o, on 05/21/2008, -0/+12I hear this one will have a plot that makes sense, and you'll get to see the Hulk before the movie is halfway over.
- Razyael, on 05/21/2008, -1/+13When he needs to be the Hulk he says to General Thaddeus Ross, "I want you to hit me, as hard as you can."
- enochthewalker, on 05/21/2008, -1/+11I am amped over this movie. Edward Norton=greatness.
- inactive, on 05/21/2008, -1/+10They're trying again because the 2003 movie was horrid.
- bjs3171, on 05/21/2008, -0/+8what's all this talk about "the first movie"?
- dpcamp, on 05/21/2008, -4/+12i'm still confused.. whats the difference between this and the remake they released back 2003? is it a sequel???
- bjs3171, on 05/21/2008, -1/+9"For The Win". Yes, it's retarded.
- erichw1504, on 05/21/2008, -1/+9this one has Edward Norton
- degron, on 05/21/2008, -1/+9If I dig you up, does that mean that I agree that CGI is ***** or that I agree that you are the only one that thinks that CGI is *****?
- gametavern, on 05/21/2008, -1/+9because I'm a hulk noob, can someone explain why this one will be better than the first movie?
- erichw1504, on 05/21/2008, -0/+7nope
- relaxeder, on 04/17/2009, -0/+7No, don't ask questions.
- grey580, on 05/21/2008, -2/+9When the first movie came out I said, "They should of picked Edward Norton to play Banner, he is perfect for that role."
I guess someone heard me. :)
This movie should be awesome. - erichw1504, on 05/21/2008, -2/+9this one has Edward Norton
- plinstrot, on 05/21/2008, -1/+8this one has Edward Norton
- danmarek, on 05/21/2008, -1/+7PROFITS SMASH!!!
- MiDri, on 05/21/2008, -0/+6The second rule of Hulk Club is... HULK SMASH!
- schotty, on 05/21/2008, -1/+7Actually I liked the first. But I do think that it could be improved upon. I found that many of the scenes in the original were acted well, but scripted weakly, or too hastily. Its as if some writer found (s)he was running late and needed to finish up to get going somewhere.
My favorite part of the first was the unique way of feeling like you were "watching" a comic book. Hopefully this tactic isn't lost to history. But then again, I only paid to get the rental copy, rather than see it in the theater. Perhaps if I shelled out $10+ rather than $2.99 the complaints would be more vengeful as many here and about seem to be. - bandola, on 05/21/2008, -1/+7Yeah the non-CGI television series was far less cheesy. Go watch that.
- dbilenkin, on 05/21/2008, -2/+8this one has Edward Norton?
- cesclaveria, on 05/21/2008, -2/+8for all the guys complaining about the CGI... how would you make a 8' tall giant green man with purple pants seem believable?
Also, for the record I finally found the answer to why the purple pants??, they are always on sale on the marvel universe wal-mart so he buys it by the dozen :) - cesclaveria, on 05/21/2008, -1/+7to do it right
- NCSUspoon, on 05/21/2008, -1/+6Umm where is the preview?
- iie.wakarimasen, on 05/21/2008, -0/+5did anyone else just skip to the bottom and play the video, later figuring out its the "Garcia Girl" trailor....
- Charlotte_Web, on 05/21/2008, -0/+5I'm wondering where Ed Norton's goatee goes to when he morphs into the Hulk.
- awtripp, on 05/21/2008, -0/+5I believe it was Ed Norton's script they made the movie out of. Obviously with many many revisions, but still, Ed Norton is a HUGE Hulk fan.
- TexasShiv, on 05/21/2008, -3/+8Ang Lee won't be directing. It will be better.
- Theisos, on 05/21/2008, -4/+9Am I the only one who thinks that the CGI is *****?
- fuhcough, on 05/21/2008, -1/+6lol ok after seeing it a thousand times i have to ask...
WTF is FTW? - gametavern, on 05/21/2008, -0/+5for the win. think hollywood squares.
- faceless323, on 05/21/2008, -0/+5there was a movie with a green monster who looked rather cartoonish...
his name is Shrek. - TheAtomicMoose, on 05/21/2008, -0/+4"This one has Edward Norton."
- TheAtomicMoose, on 05/21/2008, -0/+4I really hate the trailers. But it could still be good. I'll see it!
- plinstrot, on 05/21/2008, -1/+5The CGI in the trailers is not final but it is close. It definitely won't be perfect.
- MysticSavage, on 05/21/2008, -0/+4No Hulk Dogs.
- bandola, on 05/21/2008, -0/+4Dugg for incredible consistency. You, my good sir, has Edward Norton.
- Slackdragon, on 05/21/2008, -0/+4I'm glad I don't live in Thirdcoastbornlandia where people give up on their first failure. What kind of hell-hole country do you come from? I bet your space program is just a smoldering launch platform. "Why should we build another rocket? That was an utter failure!" Your Navy never got launched either! "Why should we build a better destroyer? That one sunk with the first rough water!"
Please, don't invite me over for dinner. I can only imagine what a Thirdcoastbornite Lasagna abortion would taste like. - Duositex, on 05/21/2008, -0/+4I agree. I am excited to see the movie but you can't ignore the lack of realism. It isn't an improvement over the movie "Hulk" as far as visuals go. At least not in my opinion. Of course it's difficult to make a 15 foot tall green beast look realistic, but.. I've seen some pretty convincing CG.
- staticneuron, on 05/21/2008, -0/+4Actually it turns out I am wrong. Sorry.
