- Badfysh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The shaky camera, no laugh track thing is old hat. They wanted to make it like an old traditional sitcom in a post-modern ironic way, it's a joke in itself. I suppose a lot of Americans don't get it because they still make shows like that for real.. :)

http://www.filecloud.com/files/file.php?file_id=2952 - serion, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3although not the best show ever, it is better than all the reality tv crap thats on.
- aiiee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2it's better than 99% of the grimace inducing US 'comedy'
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3THANK YOU FAVRALLON
- RobotCitizen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Live studio audiences suck. Whether it's live laughing idiots or recorded laughing idiots, its annoying and patronizing to hear. I will not watch any show where I hear an audience laughing.
- BritOverseas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Not many people got "The Office" at first either, I sure as hell didn't but it was a "Creeper" same as Ali G, maybe this will be too.
Now, even my US mail order bride (hee hee, don't tell her I said that, she is from Texas and they have guns), thinks Ali G is funny, she still hates the Office though, oh well one out of two isn't bad.
(oh and by the way, I was kidding about the mail order thing, they give em away free in the States).
Digg effect though for me, maybe I will check em out later, God knows I am bored enough to sit through them anyway (even if they are crap) if I can get through these *****' firewall. - DBCA, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I love it how they make the laughter of the "audience" to prominent. With out it I don't think I'd be able to pick out the funny bits from the monotonous crap!
- timtop, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2the funniest show i have seen in a while (sine the UK office)
- mongrel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks this is annoying at best - and not at all representative of good British comedy from what I've seen. Hoping for another Office, this certainly wasn't it. oh well.
- benadamson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2why do you people like this show? i just watched it for the first time ... and it's frickin lame.
- I8PP, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1It's not bad, but it reminds me too much of Black Books and it's diminished in comparison.
- Ultim8Fury, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Working in the basement looking after a large computer system myself. I find this hilarious. I have worked with people like that in the past and the management type is bang on with most of the ones I've worked for.
Great show. - Phlogiston, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You see, this would have been a good show for TechTV.
- trimsheenapple, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1For people looking for truely great new British comedy see "Peep Show" not this pile of wank.
- snypa, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2this is one of the best shows on channel 4, so damn funny. thanks for this, great stuff.
- sputnike, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I have put all the episodes on a minisite of mine is anyone wants to watch them... they are the origionals and high quality, also free. www.itcrowd.co.nr. Hope this helps anyway.
- Ghazi, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"Well, I think it's funny. It may be crap to you Brits but, American comedy sucks."
You must've never heard of shows like Chappelle Show, Family Guy, Arrested Development, The Simpsons (at least in earlier seasons), Seinfeld, My Name is Earl, Everybody Hates Chris, and a thousand others.
Now the IT Crowd may have the right recipe, but it's just far from being a real comedic hit. - HighDecibel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ok, So its not as good as Father Ted or Black Books, But its not bad. Theres no way they could ever compete with these programs as they are just perfect. It has the same effect as "Napoleon Dynamite". Some people thought it was stupid, others thought it was hilarious. For others it was funny after watching it a second time. The episodes get steadily better, Once they find their groove. What can I say? Give it a go.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1nice.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Never heard of it before. And after watching five minutes, never going to want to hear of it again.

I agree. I am feeling pretty vulnerable, too.
Must be 'Aunt Irma' making her monthly visit!
LMFAO - sotloo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I am sorry but British humor is too weird to be funny and this show is as not funny as “The Office” is. Half the computer issues they talk about make no freaking sense.
- TROGDOR42, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I frickin hate American TV after seeing this show. That plus Call for Help in Canada, American TV sucks. I'd move, but I have bittorrent ;)
- salmonmoose, on 10/14/2007, -1/+2"its not about finding something funny or not.... the show just plane sucks"
Well, you're obviously an intellectual powerhouse. That would be "plain".
It's no Office, Black Books, or Arrested Development, but it's a heck of a lot better than the majority of *****, American sitcoms we're flooded with. - dementio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Downsampled theme song for mp3 ringtone
Point phone browser to http://www.dementio.com/itcrowd.mp3 - Mc_Carter, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Great show I wish I had that tape thing.
- TransmitThis, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Total Poo!
You will be watching the shopping channel next, and saying "not many understand it but it will grow on you" LOL :)
Black Books now that was good! - whizzbang, on 10/12/2007, -1/+20118 999 88199 9119 725 3
Excellent show! - boscorelle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2show is hilarious
- bigred, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2"Laugh track makes watching it annoying. There are some funny bits once you get past the 'comedy of stereotypes' (slighty higher form of comedy than slapstick, but not by much)."
I thought this show was done in front of a live audience? I seem to recall reading that? - martin77, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1probably one of the un-funniest comedies on British TV at the moment.
This has as much chance of getting a 2nd series as I have of being Pope.
Now compare this rubbish to " My Name Is Earl " , the US import on the same channel.
That is funny. - Greg0ry, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1what is so funny about this show? Sure it deals with IT but i mean it just sucks, over acting laugh tracks. I think anyone who likes is trying to hard just because it deals with it. It's just not funny.
- thecwin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1@JakeMcMahon: Cool, I never noticed that the crash was one of a Linux box. Wonder why they chose a Linux crash rather than a Windows crash, since they're both easy to involke and I'd have assumed they'd have more Windows boxes around. ;)
- subscribtion, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I don't watch TV in America, and, judging by this show, I wouldn't watch it if I lived in the UK either.
- greghumphrey, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Good for more than a few laughs. Hope they keep making them.
- someduckperson, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2From what I've seen, exaggerates a stereotype of IT people and is just plain not funny.
- wolphcry, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1WOW. I've never seen it until this digg. If you don't like this show, you're not a true IT guy / gal. :)

"I'm going to impale the next person who comments on their loathing of laugh tracks on a skewer and barbeque them to a cinder."
Bring it, bitch. I thought laugh tracks were above British comedies. Apparently not as it looks like you still need to be told when to laugh and for how long. I mean, it that even a live laugh track because it sure sounds like it's canned and if it is then that's even more pathetic.
Regretfully, I must agree with you on the characters of the show. They are annoying and considerably over the top. Especially that Roy character - his is equivalent to a drunk Irishman broadcasting a Shakespeare soliloquy to a theater audience every time he speaks. - TVarmy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I like this show. Like a lot of Britcoms, it has good writting paired with fairly bad acting and not the most expensive sets. It's definitely different from the standard "make it glossy" US TV. But I would say I laugh at this more than most American TV.
- stimpack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah Ive got a bit of a downer on Britcoms atm, as someone above said IT crowd is followed on channel 4 by the awesome American 'My Name is Earl'. But I am aware we only get the best from the US just as they only get our best.
- sabit, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Why couldn't they model it after Office Space?!! Why all the slapstick? Why the exaggerated stereotyping?
- MikeCampo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Yeah it will be nice when all that fake laughter is removed from shows. It's kinda retarded, especially when the show isn't funny...
- gaiserrc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I feel whole now!!!?
- kyriakos, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My Name is Earl is totally boring. started nice buts the same things over and over..
- *Ica*, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"I am sorry but British humor is too weird to be funny and this show is as not funny as “The Office” is"
Mate there isnt just one type of British humour, this is just one type, so you dont like this type. - dreamkatcha, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'm going to impale the next person who comments on their loathing of laugh tracks on a skewer and barbeque them to a cinder.
I feel embarrassed that British comedy is being represented in the US by this drivel. It's set our reputation as purveyers of quirky, off-the-wall, intelligent humour back twenty years ...sweeping Benny Hill under the rug where he belongs of course. ;)
What's with Roy (the Irish IT guy) shouting every line as though he's trying to have a conversation in a gale-force wind? Does it work in a similar way to hollering English at non-English speaking people? Maybe if I ramped up the volume of my TV while watching that Two Packets of Crisps and a Pint of Something or Other, that would become hilarious too. - stevec5000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hey FAVRALLON, How about a download link THAT REALLY WORKS instead of a lot of SPAM at FILECLOUD!!
- kazempour, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1About the funniest thing I have ever seen. I rarely laugh at TV, but I LOLed throughout this whole thing.
