- Lucas123, on 05/09/2008, -4/+17Absolutely his best decade for films.
- theradical, on 05/09/2008, -2/+2yeah there was a lull after the 70s, but his latest work is pretty good too.
- jonmlm, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2lull? Stardust Memories, Crimes and Misdemeanors, Hannah and Her Sisters... the 80's were solid for Woody
- TheMoniker, on 05/09/2008, -0/+0Agreed. Also, I think that his latest reworking (if you would call it that) of Crimes and Misdemeanors, Match Point, was fantastic.
- jonmlm, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2lull? Stardust Memories, Crimes and Misdemeanors, Hannah and Her Sisters... the 80's were solid for Woody
- DrBuffy, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1i think Crimes and Misdemeanors were his best.
i believe it was 90's his work was on decline.
- theradical, on 05/09/2008, -2/+2yeah there was a lull after the 70s, but his latest work is pretty good too.
- limevelyn, on 05/09/2008, -4/+8What a great find!
- toshirosan, on 05/09/2008, -18/+7I have absolutely no respect for a pedophile, even though he's a genius moviemaker.
- RobotLeAwesome, on 05/09/2008, -3/+9I have absolutely no respect for a rapist, even though he's a genius basketball player.
- Witchbaby, on 05/09/2008, -2/+3Nice.
- VolSurrealist, on 05/09/2008, -2/+13He is NOT a pedophile. Facts... use them.
- ElAssoWipo, on 05/09/2008, -8/+3Yeah, it's incest not pedophilia.
- cdahlkvist, on 05/09/2008, -3/+2It's not incest either. She was his adopted daughter.
Either way, his movies stink. - Ganja420, on 05/09/2008, -2/+2and either way that should ***** be illegal
- ElAssoWipo, on 05/09/2008, -3/+1Incest:
child sexual abuse by a person the child perceives as a member of the family.
Woody was effectively Soon Yee's father, by law. - jonmlm, on 05/09/2008, -1/+2FACT: Farrow and Allen never married. you are effectively an idiot
- ElAssoWipo, on 05/09/2008, -1/+2FACT: Allen was her legal guardian and was her father by law.
- RobotLeAwesome, on 05/09/2008, -1/+1FACT: Bears eat beets.
- cdahlkvist, on 05/09/2008, -3/+2It's not incest either. She was his adopted daughter.
- ElAssoWipo, on 05/09/2008, -8/+3Yeah, it's incest not pedophilia.
- Doubleminy, on 05/09/2008, -3/+3No, he's not a pedophile. I'm sure the 12 years they spent together before they openly admitted their relationship were pure and innocent. That's how things work, people don't start having sex with people over 30 years their senior until after they are 18. Right?
- HunkOfLove, on 05/09/2008, -2/+2please, stop talking out your ass.
accusing someone of pedophilia is the worst thing in the world.- ElAssoWipo, on 05/09/2008, -2/+3Well Mia Farrow still insists he's a pedo. She also accused him of molesting his daughter Dylan.
- leamanc, on 05/09/2008, -1/+2She was well over the age of consent when they began their affair.
- ElAssoWipo, on 05/09/2008, -1/+2Not according to Mia Farrow. The only person who was there.
- pintomp3, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1michael jackson's pedophilia doesn't take away from his music. though he's not celebrated the way woody allen is.
- halfdirt, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2Look at how STRONG peoples' opinions are about this!!!
- RobotLeAwesome, on 05/09/2008, -3/+9I have absolutely no respect for a rapist, even though he's a genius basketball player.
- BrapAllgood, on 05/09/2008, -3/+13Sleeper, FTW.
- Lucas123, on 05/09/2008, -2/+4I loved Sleeper. One of the funniest movies ever. But the soundtrack and cinematography in Manhattan is second to none. Great film.
- vault, on 05/09/2008, -1/+1bananas and annie hall were the best ones.
- galvo, on 05/09/2008, -3/+8Sleeper is one of the greatest movies of all times. Freaking hilarious.
- FearFactory, on 05/09/2008, -4/+3Wood Yee?
- Danzig777, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Howard Rules!
- Ganja420, on 05/09/2008, -14/+6Woody Allen married his ex-wife's adopted daughter....
- hamholio, on 05/09/2008, -3/+6mia and woody weren't married, douchebag.
- salomejones, on 05/09/2008, -1/+51. hamholio is right, they were never married, 2. I think technically they adopted Soon Yi together, and 3. there are no innocent people in that triangle, so stfu.
- leamanc, on 05/09/2008, -1/+2Mia and Woody were never married. They didn't even live together. They lived in different apartment complexes, across the street from each other.
Soon Yi is the adopted daughter of Mia and Andre Previn, not Woody and Mia.
- sagat, on 05/09/2008, -10/+4Never been able to get into his movies.
- TheMoniker, on 05/09/2008, -0/+0Different strokes for different folks. But, if you haven't seen Hannah and Her Sisters, Annie Hall, Crimes and Misdemeanors, Sleeper or Match Point, try taking in a few of those. Who knows, they may change your mind.
- roodscreen, on 05/09/2008, -3/+13Genius. Annie Hall is one of my all-time favorites.
- DrBuffy, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1exatly!
Annie Hall is one of the best movie ever made.
- DrBuffy, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1exatly!
- sexybobo, on 05/09/2008, -5/+13I like Woody Allen movies but i cant stand the red haired nervous guy that is in all of them.
- VolSurrealist, on 05/09/2008, -2/+5^stolen Simpsons quote!
- Brendan2026, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Marge says "Woodsy." You took my idea!
- sexybobo, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1I forgot the exact quote but it was obviously close enough people understood where it was from.
- hamholio, on 05/09/2008, -3/+3Dugg for Woody - - but the clip itself. Yeesh. starts off well, but the editing soon goes awry.
- rblancarte, on 05/09/2008, -4/+2Sounds like a typical Woody Allen flick.
- republicker, on 05/09/2008, -0/+7Walken. Is. So. Cool.
- BrapAllgood, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1Baby Walken! Creepy in a smooother way.
- egamipeaks, on 05/09/2008, -2/+10I still love 80s and 90s Woody just as much though. Stardust Memories, Hannah and Her Sisters, Crimes and Misdemeanors, Everyone Says I Love You...
- leamanc, on 05/09/2008, -2/+3Agreed. His work post-1970s is vastly underrated. He always seems to be in a "slump" and making a "comeback," according to critics. But when you look at his films by decade, there are at least six or seven strong films per decade, and four or five that are classics. Unfortunately, I believe his work will not be fully appreciated until after he is gone.
- vault, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2I don't know, he peaked with Annie Hall and I think it was downhill from there except for Hannah and Her Sisters.

- Willy99, on 05/09/2008, -1/+31968 Woody Allen TV Special (w/ Candice Bergen)
http://tesla.liketelevision.com/liketelevision/tun ... - scarysnow, on 05/09/2008, -1/+3for making a movie once a year, his over all consistency of quality is amazing, which seems to forgive his lesser endeavors.
- rblancarte, on 05/09/2008, -4/+2While I agree this was the decade that Woody Allen did his best work, remember because of that, Star Wars was denied the Oscar in '77.
- hamholio, on 05/09/2008, -0/+3i think the right movie won in that case!!
- voteobama4, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2So? Annie Hall was an amazing movie in all respects. Star Wars has the fanboy appeal, and its a good movie, but when you really consider the whole package it pales in comparison. The horrible dialogue alone is enough to put AH over the top.
- Princeamor, on 05/09/2008, -2/+1What a Nerd
- Lucas123, on 05/09/2008, -1/+4Great Woody Allen quotes:
-- "I believe there is something out there watching us. Unfortunately, it's the government.”
-- “I am not afraid of death, I just don't want to be there when it happens.”
-- “I'm such a good lover because I practice a lot on my own.”
-- “If you want to make God laugh, tell him about your plans.”
-- “I don't know the question, but sex is definitely the answer”
-- “Life is full of misery, loneliness, and suffering - and it's all over much too soon.” - rovsky, on 05/09/2008, -1/+3"I won't eat any foods that begin with the letter 'F.' Chicken, for instance." - haha, gold.
- jonmlm, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1wow. that was done really well.
- davidmcraney, on 05/09/2008, -4/+21970's = incorrect
1970s or '70s = correct- cplusplus, on 05/09/2008, -1/+1Maybe the apostrophe in "1970's" is possessive. The films are owned by the 1970's. They are the 1970's films.
- lamerx, on 05/09/2008, -3/+2Woody Allen is a pedophile who married his ex wifes daughter while she was only 14 and he was 35. Often he played a neurotic Jewish pedophile, that was obsessed with sex, masturbation, and bodily functions I assume because he was just being himself more or less
- voteobama4, on 05/09/2008, -0/+0I can think of like...one movie in which his character could be considered a pedophile.
- InvsibleChimp, on 05/11/2008, -0/+0In Manhattan, Woody's girlfriend was 17, played by a young Margeaux Hemingway.
- leonardutah, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1She was 22.
- voteobama4, on 05/09/2008, -0/+0I can think of like...one movie in which his character could be considered a pedophile.
- 4eloBek, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1i like that jew
- StanleyKoolPrik, on 05/09/2008, -0/+2My absolute favorite Woody Allen film of all time is "Everything You Always Wanted To Know About Adopting A Pre-Pubescent Asian Concubine*
*But Were Afraid To Ask" - takehiro12, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1From Wikipedia:
The film Manhattan is said to have been based on his romantic relationship with actress Stacey Nelkin. Her bit part in Annie Hall ended up on the cutting room floor, and their relationship, though never publicly acknowledged by Allen, reportedly began when she was seventeen years old and a student at New York's Stuyvesant High School.
Go Woody! - RomanThommassen, on 05/09/2008, -0/+1i'm more interested in his new movie with scarlett ;)
- ufia, on 05/10/2008, -0/+1Woody Allen: *babbling* *babbling, babbling* and *babbling* *babbling* and more *babbling*
Audience: Bravo! BRAVO! Pure genius!
Me: *yawn* - JohnnyBuchwald, on 05/10/2008, -0/+0The seventies was absolutely the best decade - not only for Woody Allen films, but for film in general and goofy clothes. Thanks for posting this. Wish I could double-Digg!
- InvsibleChimp, on 05/11/2008, -0/+0I'm not sure which is my favorite Woody Allen movie, Annie Hall or Manhattan. Released back-to-back at the end of the '70's.
