- davincih, on 11/06/2009, -3/+31You're probably better off not exploring the movie world of Richard Kelly. Just watch Donnie Darko and pretend the rest never happened.
- motivatedguy, on 11/07/2009, -1/+20After I saw Donnie Darko I thought one thing and one thing only -- I thought, "What the ***** just happened??"

- TobiasParker, on 11/07/2009, -6/+18This "The Box" movie looks really dumb. "Press this button and win a million dollars but a stranger dies, if you don't press the button we kill you."
I would have that button pressed before he finished the sentence. - FearlessFreep, on 11/07/2009, -1/+12Oh, good grief, The Box is a remake of a Twilight Zone movie based on someone else's story...how can it be part of the director's 'mythos' if it's not even his story
- rgemmell, on 11/07/2009, -1/+10Ill admit it....I like southland tales...
- JaredMonkey, on 11/07/2009, -0/+8Are you referring to The Box?
The Box is a horror film based on the 1970 short story "Button, Button" by Richard Matheson, which was previously adapted into an episode of the 1980s incarnation of The Twilight Zone. - Vikaas, on 11/07/2009, -2/+9Donnie Darko was a very compelling story... if you were prepared to do some reading and other stuff outside the movie which without 80% of the movie doesn't make much sense.
- SpamHat, on 11/07/2009, -1/+7Donnie Darko was the only film I've ever watched twice back to back - just to find out what the ***** was going on.
Hadn't heard of Southland Tales until now.
Downloading... - chaosnovaxz, on 11/07/2009, -3/+8Yea I don't see how "The Box" can go anywhere at all. A million dollars and a complete stranger dies? How many times can you press the thing?
- ryanonfire, on 11/07/2009, -2/+7Either way somebody dies.
- RayCasanova, on 11/07/2009, -3/+8Donnie Darko would be the only thing worth watching.
- Calebh09, on 11/07/2009, -0/+4It's horrible, don't watch it. You will just be disappointed.
- curunir, on 11/07/2009, -0/+4What, nobody liked Southland Tales? I thought it was very under appreciated.
- Tarkaan, on 11/07/2009, -1/+4You forgot your /s.
- dawgma, on 11/07/2009, -2/+5you just didn't *understand* it,
- raulness, on 11/07/2009, -2/+5This is actually based on a short independent film I saw online a while ago. It was a lot more intriguing than what this remake has made it seem. They've turned it into a Hollywood movie and that is exactly what the original wasn't. Just because he made one great movie doesn't mean he has the right to remake anything.
- LarkStew, on 11/07/2009, -0/+3Donnie Darko I just about understood when I first watched it.
A Scanner Darkly, on the other hand... now that one stumped me.
Hope you figure out Southland Tales... I haven't! - TobiasParker, on 11/07/2009, -0/+3Yeah that is pretty much how it would go for me.
- jeremymccurdy, on 11/07/2009, -0/+3It's apparently utter crap since it's a pure cash in sequel.
- kraytwin2001, on 11/07/2009, -0/+3I bought it on DVD for £3 but my computer refuses to play it. I lent it to a mate and it worked on his DVD player but he gave up half way through it because it was utter *****. I think my computer was aware of this and tried to save me.
- gl77, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2wow, someone buried my comment merely for asking. regardless, thanks for the info, now i will know not to waste my time.
- raulness, on 11/07/2009, -0/+2Nah, the one I saw was somewhat new.Ah, This short must have ripped the short story/Twilight Zone then. Either way, I'd like to think the short was made in a better manner than this movie looks. You shouldn't drag out shorts into a movie in my opinion.
- MammothMan34, on 11/07/2009, -2/+4What we in the business like to call a "one hit wonder"
- Eupatorus, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1Yeah. Southland Tales was excellent. It was just a little too much for people. Wasn't spoon-fed to them.
- deftone1516, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1Richard Linklater did A Scanner Darkly
- Eupatorus, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1Because it was good. Don't be ashamed.
- Eupatorus, on 11/07/2009, -0/+1What's not to get about A Scanner Darkly?
- Eupatorus, on 11/07/2009, -1/+1Umm. How about a spoiler alert, io9? I've seen these movies but, WTF.
- gl77, on 11/07/2009, -2/+2anyone here seen the movie "S. Darko"? the sequel to Donnie Darko? if so, is it worth watching?
- juliusthecat, on 11/07/2009, -8/+7Thank you - I was just coming here to ask if anybody else thought that movie was crap. Glad I'm not alone.
- ramonday, on 11/07/2009, -2/+0Darko is for the obvious-oblivious. Kind of like CSI.
- Tarkaan, on 11/07/2009, -15/+7Donnie Darko sucks.
