    • dfsjdkflasjk, on 07/19/2008, -0/+3As someone who has seen the movie twice already: if you haven't seen the movie yet, I suggest not watching anything else besides the movie itself. It's so much better when you see it the first weekend as trailers that come out within a week after the release starts to reveal more and more scenes that shouldn't be. I saw a few in this video already.

The one thing however that made this movie was as everyone says, ledger. Batman was better in the first one, he just wasn't dramatic enough in this one really. He appeared too much, and i would prefer the human side of the guy to go in more depth. The change in Rachel's character just kept throwing me off (but i can't complain, or else we would have to watch Holmes butcher the part). There were some great subplots, but overall it couldn't stick to one aspect and let us dwell. It didn't create a main story for us to follow and get lost in. It didn't draw me in like the first one did. Don't get me wrong, many things went well, and overall it is better than the 1st (mostly cuz of ledger), and it is the best movie of the year, but just don't let the hype get to you is all. Oh, and yes, it does deserve a second viewing.

The guy sitting right next to me also spent the entire ***** movie chewing loudly on an empty paper cup and a straw. However, he looked like he was a Neo-Nazi so I figured if I bitched at him he'd probably stab me or something.

Also, having personally seen the movie, I think that it is truly a work of art. That doesn't mean it is the best thing to ever happen to the world, it just means that it is a brilliant movie.

    Dark Knight has definitely set new standards on how an action film should look and feel.

  • senatorpjt, on 07/19/2008, -0/+2I was personally distracted by the constant shifting between IMAX and 35mm during the film (and the assholes next to me who kept talking and making noise the whole time) Which is strange because a guy I was with didn't even notice that parts of the film took up the whole screen and other parts only took up half of it.

I've been to see full length features in two different IMAX theaters and the seats are like torture devices.

Heath Ledger's performance as The Joker was astonishing, he completely demolished Jack Nicholson's version. Seriously, if you didn't know it was him prior to watching it, then you wouldn't know in the first place.
