I was skeptical at first (I was also skeptical about Hugh Jackman as Wolverine for X-Men -- which he pulled off to a T) but you can't even really tell its him most of the time. All I see is a real life joker. Jack Nicolson pulled him off okay, but it was essentially Jack Nicholson in a costume, and we knew that -- Jack is too recognizable. His bravado shines through the character, essentially eliminating its credibility. This guy LOOKS and acts just like joker. His partially disheveled image really pulls the image together. I can't see Heath anywhere in this character, which is amazing.

Jack's got some competition. There, I said it. - Orion682, on 12/17/2007, -1/+44In an interview, Christopher Nolan was asked about that and said he has no intention of having them in his Batman movies. He said the whole point was that it's supposed to be about Batman's early years and Robin didn't come around until much later. That and he felt that Robin ruined a lot of the things that made Batman great, and tried to humanize him iirc.
Thus far, Batman Begins and The Dark Night seem to be drawing from Frank Miller's Batman heavily (ie, The Dark Knight Returns). The Joker in this movie, I'd read, was based heavily on the legendary Alan Moore's one shot comic "The Killing Joke." It's mostly considered non-canon, but it's the comic where Barbara Gordon gets paralyzed by the Joker, and where Moore makes a point of the fact that the Joker and Batman are, in their own ways, equally psychotic. The only real difference is which side they're on.
So yeah, can't wait :) - sark666, on 12/17/2007, -0/+34How about no actress. I have about 4 boxes of batman comics and I think he almost (almost) gets with vicki vale in one issue. Part of batman's character is his isolation. We should see him playing the playboy to keep up with the wayne character, but in the end he suffers alone, he doesn't let anyone in. But for some damn reason they feel that they can't do these movies without having some love interest.

I ran accross a black armored car.. then a truck that said Laughter on the said with a big S written on red infront of it, I did a double take then checked out the front of the Armored car and it said Gotham city on it, pretty sweet. The truck i'm talkin about is the semi that seems to do a front flip in the trailer.j That was in August.. I've been excited for this ever since
