- divinediva, on 11/11/2008, -2/+32The users of the Internet Movie Database have voted Paris Hilton’s latest movie “effort” The Hottie and the Nottie as the WORST movie of ALL TIME.
- KenSPT, on 11/11/2008, -0/+22One of the most underrated internet/tech movies of all time, Pirates of Silicon Valley ...
- tlo182, on 11/11/2008, -1/+19Definitely was expecting to see "The Net" top the worst list - and I am not let down. What a horrible flick.
- Knowltey, on 11/11/2008, -0/+18Wait? No WarGames? It was mentioned but it didn't make the top 5?
- djpray2k, on 11/11/2008, -0/+17"The Matrix is basically insidious: It has evolved into a global simulation of life solely to amuse and distract unconscious humans who are being used to power the grid. "
If you take out everything from the word 'who' onwards you have a description of WOW do you not? - MarkusX, on 11/11/2008, -13/+29Hackers definitely belongs on the Worst list.
Being a helpless romantic, I'd like to see You've Got Mail on the Best list. /Shame - PrometheusZero, on 11/11/2008, -0/+14It's "Hack the Planet!" dude.
- slapded, on 11/11/2008, -1/+15"its got a 28.8 bps modem!"
- MCA2142, on 11/11/2008, -1/+14Tron?
or is tron pre-internets? - adml_shake, on 11/11/2008, -2/+14What? No Pirates of Silicone Valley?!!!
- jamesdew, on 11/11/2008, -1/+12and a "killer refresh rate"
- kliptic, on 11/11/2008, -1/+10RISC is good
- KenSPT, on 11/11/2008, -0/+9To be fair, I'm pretty sure if Paris Hilton hadn't starred in it it would have simply been lost in the cinematic shuffle. The hate against that movie is more because people despise it's star, and I'd venture to guess most of the people who voted it down never actually saw it.
Don't get me wrong, it's far from a good movie, but there have been much worse movies made. - inactive, on 11/11/2008, -1/+9"Type cookie you idiot!"
/Plague - BulkVanderhuge, on 11/11/2008, -0/+8Sneakers with Robert Redford. I've always thought this movie was a solid film that didn't get enough credit.
And it had one of River Phoenix's last roles before he took a dirt nap. - mlvassallo, on 11/11/2008, -0/+8Hackers is cool... but it is cool because it is cheesy. It had absolutely nothing to do with the real "internet" or hacking by any stretch of the imagination.
- TheUngod, on 11/11/2008, -0/+8and the award for the least heterosexual comment made goes to...
- cquinnd, on 11/11/2008, -0/+8Silicone Valley?
That is a different movie than the ones you are thinking of. - mhmandthen, on 11/11/2008, -0/+7Dugg for Me and You and Everyone We Know
- jamesdew, on 11/11/2008, -1/+8rachel leigh cook was in it though
- Kaminczak, on 11/11/2008, -1/+8))< >((
- mooseofshadows, on 11/11/2008, -0/+6I'd never heard of "Me and You and Everyone we know." Good trailer though, it looks like a really interesting movie.
- dewar868, on 11/11/2008, -0/+6It won't show me Angelina's boobs:(
- dave122, on 11/11/2008, -1/+7the gibson stands no chance!
- sirrockalot, on 11/11/2008, -2/+8Dugg for Hackers and Antitrust. Whether or not you like them, they're still classics.
- moocow1452, on 11/11/2008, -0/+6I don't know, that one where they hook a guy up to a machine that kills you faster depending on the amount of hits to the webpage looked pretty bad.
- bagofbeef, on 11/11/2008, -0/+5Back and forth forever. With the pooping. Let's meet on a parkbench!
- benologist, on 11/11/2008, -0/+5Untraceable?
It wasn't a great movie but it definitely wasn't a bad one.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0880578/ - mhmandthen, on 11/11/2008, -0/+5That may be the best example of Engrish I've seen today! But buried for spam.
- AtraNoxVII, on 11/11/2008, -2/+75. FearDotCom (2002). Much like the setup of innumerable Asian horror flicks, FearDotCom is based on the premise of a Web site so scary that if you visit it you will die. Or someone will kill you, I guess. Imagine how much slaying our villain would have to do if his site got Dugg!
Well there would be 186+ less virgins in the world. - stonebone4, on 11/11/2008, -1/+6Strangeland was pretty terrible, it was written by Dee Snider (yes, from Twisted Sister) and featured Dee as "Captain Howdy," a piercing/tattoo/S&M-obsessed pervert who'd surf chat rooms looking for teenage girls to torture by piercing them. Great soundtrack, horrible pile of crap movie.
- hutectro, on 11/11/2008, -0/+4The best movie i like is
-------------------> Pirates of Silicon Valley
___________________--------> http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0168122/ - zohaibusman, on 11/11/2008, -2/+6no one can beat the matrix so far
- elizabethb221, on 11/11/2008, -0/+4Forever.
- pacman122, on 11/11/2008, -3/+7Hackers was a stupid hollywood movie trying to cash in during the technology boom. It used every stereotype you could imagine, no wonder PC World loved that piece of ***** movie.
- itcoll, on 11/11/2008, -0/+4wargames ? it was nice .
- drgirlfriend, on 11/11/2008, -0/+4Ohhhhh yeah, the memory of seeing that movie got blocked out due to sheer horror suckiness.
- sc0ttius, on 11/11/2008, -0/+4First thing that came to mind: feardotcom. I was scared for a moment when I went through 4 worst and it wasn't there until #5.
- commiecat, on 11/11/2008, -0/+4I'd also add BBS: The Documentary. Those that used bulletin boards would want to see it and the younger groups might also be interested to see what it was like before, and leading up to, the Internet:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BBS_The_Documentary - keyboardduder, on 11/11/2008, -0/+4horrible horrible movie
- franklymister, on 11/11/2008, -0/+3There's a "best?"
Sorry, but until someone makes a documentary based on Bruce Sterling's "The Hacker Crackdown," or Emmanuel Goldstein gets a Hollywood deal, I will still cringe at any mention of movies "about the internet." - jlimon, on 11/11/2008, -0/+3It's kind of funny.. the main character in Swimfan is played by the same guy as one of the main characters from Hackers.
I wonder if any other actor made it on both the best AND worst list. - asgardshill, on 11/11/2008, -0/+3Movies that are ostensibly about the Internet suffer from one fatal built-in flaw: Their target audience would much rather be ON THE INTERNET downloading them than actually paying to get into the theater to see the movie about the Internet they want to download. Unless of course the movie totally sucks donkey balls like Hackers or You've Got Mail, in which case nobody wants to see it OR seed it.
Either give me IMAX with gold-plated Dolby sound, or listen to the crickets and smell the rotting popcorn. - jcpudd, on 11/11/2008, -0/+3Hack the Gibson!!!!!!!!
- JoeRandom, on 11/12/2008, -1/+4kbps
could you imagine 28.8 bps - lovemorgul, on 11/11/2008, -3/+6The third picture is the WORTS imitation ever of these guys:)
- Ryosen, on 11/11/2008, -0/+3Maybe he's thinking of "You've Got Hotmail"?
- inactive, on 11/11/2008, -0/+3I could definitely come up with a lot more for the 'worst' list.
- Shemales, on 11/11/2008, -0/+3"my BLT drive on my computer just went AWOL"
