- pingpants, on 07/04/2008, -0/+11Sam Adams - brewer/true patriot
- btgoss, on 07/03/2008, -3/+12With no mention of the Richard Petty or Dale Earnhardt Sr., or Elivs, or Frank Sinatra, or Babe Ruth, or Hank Aaron, or Jackie Robinson, or Marilyn Monroe, this is not a good list at all.
- ByronT, on 07/04/2008, -3/+9LOLZ WHERES JOHN LENNIN?
- tomsentest, on 07/03/2008, -1/+7Pop culture... MTV, perhaps?
- Bunnybutt, on 07/04/2008, -0/+5Horrible list
- MCA2142, on 07/04/2008, -0/+5I'm missing Homer Simpson.
There's little bit of the Simpsons in all of us. - MCA2142, on 07/04/2008, -0/+4He's the bad ass mother ***** that gave Rocky Balboa his American Flag Boxers.
Nothing more American "Pop" in film in the last 3 decades than when Apollo came out dancing to James Brown, dressed in sparkly Red, White and Blue. - richiewrt, on 07/04/2008, -0/+4Those were all memorialized in velvet paintings, no need to mention them on this list.
- chaos7, on 07/04/2008, -1/+5this list kinda sucks
- santaliqueur, on 07/04/2008, -0/+4Most of your list is great, but ***** Nascar? You forgot sarcasm tags.
- rubaaan, on 07/04/2008, -0/+3Team America?
- danharlow, on 07/04/2008, -0/+3Clint Eastwood > John Wayne
I really hate John Wayne. The tool actually said 'High Noon' was the most un-American movie ever made because the settlers should not be portrayed as cowards and that 'High Plains Drifter' was un-American because it didn't portray the settlers as heroes.
Cancer > John Wayne - inactive, on 07/04/2008, -0/+3How about grilled non-diseased mad cow meat, legal fireworks, and REAL beer like we have in many other less "free" countries?
- MCA2142, on 07/04/2008, -2/+4It's John Lennon and not lennin.
And he was Born in England. - TomJohn, on 07/04/2008, -0/+2Buried for making up a final quote attributed to Hemingway. That's Oliver Stone's territory.
- isunktheship, on 07/04/2008, -0/+2haha i logged in just to digg you up for this!
- Wadajoobadude, on 07/04/2008, -0/+2Captain America a has been?
Obviously you haven't been reading Brubaker's run on the Cap. - whyisntcakesin, on 07/04/2008, -0/+2No Hunter S. Thompson? That man was everything that is American
- birdly, on 07/04/2008, -1/+2People who haven't seen "Rambo" aren't allowed to read the list. I thought Rambo sucked. Do I have to move now?
- MCA2142, on 07/04/2008, -1/+2How dare you say ***** about Superman!!!
You should be ashamed, AshamedAmerican. - whatthefu, on 07/04/2008, -0/+1I'm sure there were at least 20 better choices that the author left out to piss everyone on Digg off.
- MCA2142, on 07/04/2008, -0/+1I think Rambo is on the list for its cultural reference more so than the film itself.
Rambo's cultural effects even reached the white house, when his name was mentioned in a speech concerning foreign policy by the Gipper. - inactive, on 07/04/2008, -3/+4Rule #1 to being quintessentially American.
Never use the word quintessential. - warsongs7, on 07/04/2008, -0/+1The Master............of Disaster!!!!!
- cdigioia, on 07/04/2008, -1/+1What country do you think has both "real" beer and non-diseased mad cow meat?
- hoopy22, on 07/06/2008, -0/+0The (pick a number) things that bore the ***** hell out of me.
ENOUGH OF THE LISTS DIGG!!!!!!!
bastards - JamestothaMason, on 07/04/2008, -0/+0When I say pop culture icon, you say Sam the Eagle?
My money's on Tricky Dick. - DforSpiD, on 07/04/2008, -1/+1You're missing a bigger question, is there any such thing as non-diseased mad cow meat, given that meat from a cow with the the disease would be considered to be infected?
- cdigioia, on 07/04/2008, -2/+2He knows he was born in England...that's the joke he was making
- Jonttu, on 07/04/2008, -1/+1Buried for no Spock
"Seems logical to me captain."
Eh? - cdigioia, on 07/04/2008, -1/+1Meh, you're right, but I'll accept their poor phraseology.
- Cronikeys, on 07/04/2008, -3/+3Umm... Stephen Colbert?
- Katzenbach, on 07/04/2008, -2/+1This list is B.S.!! How does Sam the Eagle beat Superman??!! And how does Captain America make the #1 slot and Superman doesn't?? Hogan's Heroes????? WTF??!!!!
- AshamedAmerican, on 07/04/2008, -3/+1Washed up has-beens like Superman and Captain America make the list but Batman doesn't?
*****! - sanskover, on 07/03/2008, -3/+1I like the Topless Robot better than anyone on the list.
- passedoutghost, on 07/04/2008, -4/+0Who or wtf is Apollo Creed?
- bordlin, on 07/03/2008, -9/+3Hulk Hogan
