- Boracho, on 07/07/2009, -7/+92Does it make anyone else sad that this only encourages ***** movies with no plot?
- C4Strife, on 07/07/2009, -8/+74Worst movie to ever make so much money.
- Jethro82, on 07/07/2009, -1/+50Man this reminds me how incredible Star Wars was. 1,750 theaters and $460 Million, thats incredible!
- FullMetalNIN, on 07/07/2009, -4/+53This list does not adjust for inflation, so ROTF's comparitive box office success is grossly exaggerated.
- spammishking, on 07/07/2009, -0/+37actually watching fireworks set off in a dryer sounds awesome
- jumbalia, on 07/07/2009, -3/+27I made this comment on a previous post, but I have to make it again because I found it to be the epitome of everything that's wrong with this movie: THERE IS A F**KING CLASSICAL EUROPEAN MURAL IN THE F**KING ANCIENT EGYPTIAN TOMB!
I mean how stupid does Michael Bay think I... *SUPER HUGE EXPLOSION FOLLOWED BY CLOSE UP OF FOX'S ****** Wow! did you guys see that... What was I talking about again?... - The5nowman, on 07/07/2009, -11/+35Megan Fox is why.
- rhdesigns, on 07/07/2009, -2/+25I regret using my money to assist Transformers: ROTF to get into this category. I would have rather spent my $10 on some shiny metal parts to throw in the blender and watch that.
- FullMetalNIN, on 07/07/2009, -4/+24Admittedly, yes. However; it is unfair to sensationalize its achievement by comparing it to non-adjusted movies (Star Wars, and E.T. are both well above $1bil, and Titanic is slightly under). There is really no reason not to adjust them for inflation. They purposely left it out to exaggerate its success.
- demitio, on 07/07/2009, -0/+19On top of that, it was in 1977 and the number is not even adjusted for inflation!
It grossed mindblowing $1,278,898,700 when you adjust for ticket price inflation! - KevinMalone, on 07/07/2009, -2/+19Where is Aquaman?
- withoutamartyr, on 07/07/2009, -3/+19Shrek 2?
... Really? - XkenX87, on 07/07/2009, -2/+18People are lemmings.
- buzznjackal, on 07/07/2009, -1/+14I saw Transformers 2 July 4th weekend and it was exactly what I though it would be, big blockbuster movie with lots of fun, action, explosions and bad ass robots. I laughed and had a good time as did my family and those at the theater seem to have a good time.
- longlukey, on 07/07/2009, -1/+14Watching Transformers 2 was like watching fireworks being set off inside of a dryer.
- ZaZ2137, on 07/07/2009, -0/+10I believe I will try this, this sounds awesome.
- smartnerd666, on 07/07/2009, -4/+14I'm amazed at how many people I know saw it even though they knew it was *****. The usual response is "I just wanted to laugh at how bad it is." To me, $9 and 3 hours of my life is not worth a few laughs.
- Jethro82, on 07/07/2009, -1/+11Try to comment without saying "*****"
- ThanatosST, on 07/07/2009, -0/+8Holy *****... i haven't seen that movie in ages. I need to go watch it now.
- nicktomyskins, on 07/07/2009, -0/+8Roger, roger. inflation plays a fat role
http://boxofficemojo.com/alltime/adjusted.htm - Punjabdasher, on 07/07/2009, -1/+9Honestly, for those people QQ'ing about it, go QQ somewhere else because I thought it was a decent movie. Sure it didn't have plot depth like <insert deep, moving, film here> but it was a good action flick that my friends and I all enjoyed.
- cubicledrone, on 07/07/2009, -2/+10Pixar is the only company in this country that is making original entertainment. It's run like companies used to be run: they hire talented people and then don't fire them.
The results speak for themselves. - Xaevier, on 07/07/2009, -0/+7If anyone was wondering "Gone With The Wind" made $1,450,680,400 after inflation/everything is calculated into todays dollars.
- Richandler, on 07/07/2009, -2/+9Adjusting for inflation also doesn't account for higher prices(discourage people to go), bootleg(people just don't go), higher pre-release criticism(discourages people to go), and the inevitable, just as profitable dvd release which tons of people wait for now-a-days.
- ZaZ2137, on 07/07/2009, -1/+8Don't lie you wanted to see boobs.
- Xaevier, on 07/07/2009, -2/+9Buried for being another inflation ignoring movie sales chart.
- RevJonathan, on 07/07/2009, -0/+75 days to more Entourage!
- Cheesepuffly, on 07/07/2009, -0/+7we went at 11:30 so we only paid $4.50 for our tickets, HA.
- bigplrbear, on 07/07/2009, -1/+7Pokemon the movie 2000 was better than the newest transformers movie
which reminds me- I've gotta go find my old VCR and watch it :] - geniusNOTatWORK, on 07/07/2009, -3/+9This makes me hate humanity just a little bit more.
- afeitarse, on 07/07/2009, -2/+8I don't know if it particularly makes me sad. The movie industry is so large and robust that it can handle putting out a lot of high quality movies along with the empty popcorn movies. Plus, who doesn't enjoy going into a theater and shutting off your mind every once in a while?
- mcwattersm, on 07/07/2009, -1/+6It was ok.
- Dauntless1, on 07/07/2009, -1/+6Yep. Everybody I know has seen it, and none of them have a problem. It's not making anyone weep with joy over the high quality, but nobody's bitching about it. Then I log into digg an it sounds like people want to start world war 3 over a movie they didn't care for.
- SKLOKAZOID, on 07/07/2009, -0/+5Why isn't Batman riding the Bat-cycle in that graph? They have the bike from ET, an X-wing, but Batman's running?
- alsazen, on 07/07/2009, -2/+7If that's the kind of thing that spoils a movie for you, then I'd have thought you'd already know that Michael Bay movies aren't for you! ;)
- HyperionHK, on 07/07/2009, -2/+6No, it was bashed by critics cause it sucked
- BinaryFragger, on 07/08/2009, -0/+4Sssshhhh you're not supposed to have your own opinion on Digg.
I agree with you, though. I enjoyed the movie, and it was what I expected for a summer blockbuster. It was simply good fun. - inactive, on 07/07/2009, -0/+4And they all typed on 400 million free typewriters!
- Jones82, on 07/07/2009, -2/+6you mean the "transformers 2 sucks" bandwagon on Digg?
- Cheesepuffly, on 07/07/2009, -1/+5Not plot, with explosions.
- ZaZ2137, on 07/07/2009, -0/+4If you watched transformers 2 with any expectations other than *****, ass, explosions and robot fights you went to see transformers 2 for the wrong reasons and no wonder you hated it.
- Jhiaxuz, on 07/07/2009, -2/+6I went to go see it because I was on a date with a chick who had huge *****. Sometimes you just have to make sacrifices.
- Jones82, on 07/07/2009, -0/+4Looks like Digg's "Worst Movie Ever" title has gone from Twilight to Transformers 2
- rezivor, on 07/08/2009, -2/+5Megan Fox is what ever. Nothing separates her from any other celebrity with a nice body and an okay face.
- aizvek, on 07/07/2009, -3/+6How about the ***** movie club? Too bad everyone who saw it will try to justify it by saying it was ok.
- bloodhound01, on 07/07/2009, -2/+5lol @ looking at IMDB top 10 then writing an article about it.
- shadowsincircle, on 07/07/2009, -0/+3What about if you end up pirating it to say it sucks.
- rezivor, on 07/08/2009, -0/+3It also was James Cameron, and James Cameron can write a really ***** good script.
- Dauntless1, on 07/07/2009, -3/+6I saw it, and don't see what the problem is. I went to be entertained, and I was. I didn't go into the theater thinking I was going to be watching Shakespeare, for crying out loud.
- h0v3rb1k3s, on 07/08/2009, -0/+3zzsteve from that site's comments linked to a nice inflation-adjusted list of the top grossing movies.
