- whatthefu, on 10/11/2007, -1/+32NEVER make a Catcher in the Rye movie. It's a great book, but it would be a ***** awful movie no matter who did it.
- tatltat, on 10/11/2007, -3/+33Better yet... Peter Jackson's "Halo."

Dammit, why didn't Joss Whedon's "Big Damn Trilogy" ever come to fruition?
I miss Firefly... - tatltat, on 10/11/2007, -2/+30I just want Tim Burton's Harry Potter."
- jmpeagle, on 10/11/2007, -0/+25I am legend was already made into a movie back in 1971 with Charlton Heston playing Robert Neville, but they changed the name to The Omega Man.
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0067525/
Also "The Last Man on Earth" (1964) was also based on Richard Matheson's "I Am Legend" novel
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0058700/
Will Smith's "I am Legend" is a 2nd remake - senorcool, on 10/11/2007, -1/+24One left out: "Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash"

- Benprofane, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13I am Legend. Perhaps the greatest, likely the bleakest, horror novel ever written. You'd have to grab some Beckett to find something more nihilistic and grim. Starring....Will ***** Smith. Directed by...some music video director. I'm climbing the god-damned bell tower over this one.
- jmpeagle, on 10/11/2007, -0/+13did you even READ the title?
it says "NEVER MADE" not "EVER MADE" - Chewie67, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14#15 - Disney's 'A Princess of Mars' IS being made. Pixar has taken it over, and it's slated for release in 2011 or 2012 -- something like that. The name has been changed, but it's going to be made.
- sLydE, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14A LOT of us miss Firefly...
- sjbdallas, on 10/11/2007, -1/+14So I guess Cameron decided to do Aquaman instead of SpiderMan.
- mannymix03, on 10/11/2007, -2/+13i would love to see heart of darkness as a movie, but apocalypse now is a pretty good rendition of it
- opsknight, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11Personally, I think the SCI FI channel missed a golden chance to pick up Firefly and keep goong muich like SG1..instead..they got ECW..hrmmpf
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+11That movie exists.
- jmpeagle, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11Firefly and Arrested Development are my 2 favorite shows of all time and both got cancelled by Fox....bunch on *****
- QuackAttack818, on 10/11/2007, -1/+11Makes me wanna get in a time machine, travel to 2002, and stopping Fox from screwing over the best T.V. show ever made.
- thegsa, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9Ash Ketchum?
- tnatharik, on 10/11/2007, -3/+12Stanley Kubrick's 'Napoleon'
Orson Welles' 'Heart of Darkness'
James Cameron's 'Avatar'
Alfred Hitchcock's 'Kaleidoscope'
'Don Quixote'

Carl Dreyer's 'Jesus'
David Lean's 'Nostromo'
Andrzej Munk's 'Passenger' Lem Dobbs'

- YesMoreLight, on 10/11/2007, -0/+9Plus Holden ***** hates movies.
- sjbdallas, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9I have to admit that I was one of those that didn't watch it during it's run on Fox -- didn't catch it until SciFi channel -- but I really wish it was back.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -1/+9The same sentiments for Mike Judge's Idiocracy.
- joaob, on 10/11/2007, -1/+8As is "I am Legend"
The trailer is on the web and the film is on the cutting room floor. - AncientWeird, on 10/11/2007, -0/+7Star Wars Episodes I-III
- whoaohh, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Catcher in the Rye is one of those stories that just shouldn't be adapted, no matter how it is done. You cannot possibly capture Holden Caulfield on screen the way JD Salinger does in his novel.
- chokeaduck, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Ruxpin.
- inactive, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Well...to be honest... I don't think we're all as gay as you. As the post above says.... PPFTW, though.
- harvinator24, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5wayside school is falling down.
i loved those books as a kid, and i would put money on it that it would be an awesome kids movie. - gr3yn3t, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5and I'd love to see "Catcher in the Rye", but igby goes down is a good enough rendition of it, AFAIK.
- jstohler, on 10/11/2007, -0/+5Try reading.

- ghaltmann, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Just so people know, #3 - James Cameron's Avatar is being made.
Missing option: Neil Stephenson's Snow crash would be the best movie ever. - BiggRanger, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Why is Buckaroo Banzai 2 - "Buckaroo Banzai Against The World Crime League" not on this list!?!?
- multipotential, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4John Milton's "Paradise Lost" would make a sweet movie. All epic lotr-style, the armies of heaven and hell colliding and the fall of Man etc. Let Peter Jackson direct it; how could it possibly go wrong?
- MrZop, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Billy Walsh Would Just ***** It Up.
- nymphetamine, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5Pikachu, I choose YOU!
- jstohler, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4Duly noted in the description.
- TwwIX, on 10/11/2007, -0/+4I Am Legend=The Last Man on Earth,The Omega Man and "I Am Legend"
James Cameron's Avatar has been in production for quite some while now. - inactive, on 10/11/2007, -2/+6I thought this might be interesting, but it's not.
- Chaos12, on 10/11/2007, -1/+5There is no Ender's Game :(
- mywhitenoise, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3People don't appreciate that book? Dude, that was a required read at my high school. Tons of morons think they're Holden.
Read that book once you're out of your teens, and tell me it's any good. - dn11, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3no, it didn't
- InvisibleMan, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4ANYTHING with Ash! .... In fact just redo dawn of the dead but make Ash the main character.
- DDRSkata, on 10/11/2007, -0/+3Has anyone actually READ James Cameron's drafts for Spider-Man? The author of this article obviously didn't, because as inaccurate as Raimi's efforts were in a lot of ways, Cameron's efforts are at least a thousand times worse. He clearly has no understanding of the character. Peter swears like a sailor in both drafts, he's dating Liz Allen in one (WTF?) and in the other, he webs MJ to the bridge and ***** her (before, I might add, he's revealed his identity to her, so he's having bondage sex with a girl who has no clue who he is). The villain in one is Doc Ock, intended to be played by the Governator, given the cheesy catchphrase of, "Okey dokey," I ***** you not, which he even yells out when he's angry. The villain in the other is Strand (a mix of Electro and Kingpin, who could just as easily have just been Electro), assisted by a moderately-well-done Sandman. Nothing about Cameron's scripts is quality except a little bit of the dialogue, and most of the quality dialogue (at least as far as I recall) was absorbed into Koepp's script for the first movie.
Cameron's Spider-Man would've been the worst thing to happen to Spider-Man, except maybe Sins Past. - hippykiller, on 10/11/2007, -1/+4Well for one it could end up exactly like lord of the rings.
- EnterDaMatrix, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2..."Every word has it's antonym!"
- nbcaffeine, on 10/11/2007, -0/+2I would personally love to see a well done version of snow crash on the big screen.
Also, Altered Carbon by Richard K Morgan -
