- Cancerkitty, on 05/21/2009, -0/+7The only one of these I've heard of is Future War. Thanks, MST3K!
- ayeroxor, on 05/22/2009, -1/+7yes. check dictionary.com for help.
- AshamedAmerican, on 05/21/2009, -0/+5The pic for "The Automatic" looks like the cover to a Sega CD game.
- Jamiekin, on 05/22/2009, -1/+5Didn't James Cameron have to pay some author off because of the similarities between Terminator and another sci-fi story?
Ah here, you go..
James Cameron once said that what inspired him to make The Terminator were two episodes from the 1960s television science fiction series The Outer Limits.... both written by science-fiction author Harlan Ellison. When the author threatened a lawsuit, Terminator production company Hemdale and distributor Orion Pictures gave him an "acknowledgement to the works of" credit on video and cable releases of The Terminator as well as a cash settlement. - wizardcombat, on 05/22/2009, -0/+4They forgot R.O.T.O.R.!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wbCsKFY7NxM - smack1700, on 05/22/2009, -0/+3The Matrix involved machines controlling the world and mankind fighting to survive - which is the same basic premise behind Terminator.
Other than that, they're completely different.
a) No time travel in the Matrix
b) Machines weren't attempting to eliminate the human race in the Matrix
c) Alternate reality/philosophical elements about how we perceive the world
d) No kung fu in Terminator
e) No awesome monologues by a bald black man in Terminator
f) "I know Kung Fu" and "I'll be Back" completely different cheesy memorable quotes - insanebrain, on 05/22/2009, -0/+2extremely lame site... buried
- inactive, on 05/22/2009, -0/+2Okay, I've seen TC2000 and Cyborg Cop. The latter is a must see for everyone, especially the sequel. Billy Blanks, Jalal Merhi and David Bradley are legends in our time for all the wrong reasons.
- MrSkills, on 05/22/2009, -0/+2It's not as if The Terminator was the first movie of its type.
Westworld, anyone? Yule Brynner could take Arnie any day ;-) - Vagari, on 05/22/2009, -0/+1So any movie that came out after The Terminator that has a cyborg or some humanoid robot is a ripoff of The Terminator? Ummm... No thank you.
- Mittens27, on 05/22/2009, -3/+4Oh, good. It's all movies no ones heard of.
- inactive, on 05/22/2009, -1/+2Good list of Craptacular movies no one should waste their consciousness on.
- BooneFaustus, on 05/22/2009, -0/+1Blasphemy, nothing made by Charles Band can be bad. Of course I grew up on Full Moon videos and the videozone. Oh and Class of 1999 is good too from what I remember, (but then again it's been over ten years)
- allisonaxe, on 05/23/2009, -0/+1why am i buried? what part of "robots take over the world and enslave humanity, while brave freedom fighters use the robot's technology to fight back while living in squalor" don't you get? hell, terminator is almost a prequel to the matrix series.
- DarthCider, on 05/22/2009, -0/+1Automatic isn't bad at all. It's better than almost anything in the newer Outer Limits series, and the best movie on this list. I doubt that the reviewer who made the list even watched it.
- alexra, on 05/22/2009, -0/+1I just watched terminator on encore a few days ago, I forgot how awesome the first movie was, one of my favorite parts is when the terminator is walking out of his apartment, with a giant ass gun in his hand, and he walks pass someone else, and the guy says "god damn!", that was funny.
- jbmcb, on 05/22/2009, -1/+2For the win:
http://us.imdb.com/title/tt1350512/ - GeorgeStone2, on 05/22/2009, -1/+2How is the matrix not on there.
- xino, on 05/22/2009, -1/+2They missed the biggest one and it's called "The Terminators" which just came out. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Terminators_(film ...
- alexra, on 05/22/2009, -0/+1the only rip off movie that looks good on this list is the class of 1999, the rest suck
- johnbonham1, on 05/22/2009, -1/+1Eagle Eye starring Shia Lebouf is a terrible ripoff of the already horrible Terminator 3
- ogphat, on 05/22/2009, -0/+0i dont know they all look like they would fit well with a cheesy cyborg movie night i think i am going to have one her soon thanks for the video options
- shaka776, on 05/22/2009, -2/+2Dick Cheney?
- bakaoni, on 05/22/2009, -5/+3Oh come on people, you're seriously Digging me down?
When Marcus threw the chair at the Skynet computer, it was a blatant ripoff of the 1984 Apple commercial.
And when he was talking to Skynet and it was changing faces, I was thinking it would eventually change to a taco that craps ice cream.
South Park did that first. - IvenomI, on 05/21/2009, -8/+3Can they really be "blatant" if only 3 people on Earth have seen them?
- allisonaxe, on 05/22/2009, -7/+2missing is "the matrix."
- bakaoni, on 05/22/2009, -9/+3#1a: Terminator Salvation
Talk about ruining a series. They should have called it Terminator Salivation, because my mouth was agape at how bad that movie was. It nearly left me a drooling vegetable. Honestly, some of the movies on that list were better, TC 2000 was better. The TV show was better. Hell, the FOX execs probably saw the movie and canceled the TV show just to remove all reference to the movie.
These lists don't count for much considering Terminator Salvation could now join this list.

What is Digg?
