- StarThirteen, on 08/27/2008, -0/+7The fact that Brandon Lee died during filming shouldn't factor into how good his performance was. Batman and Robin wouldn't have sucked any less if Arnold Schwarzenegger had "accidentally" punched Chris O'Donnell's head off. (Unless they actually showed it in the movie of course)
- babaganush, on 08/27/2008, -0/+6Iron Man was awesome. I had it pretty set in my head as the summers best action flick.
Boy was I wrong... - kp2575, on 08/28/2008, -0/+5No Adam West in Batman? For shame
- iamronburgundy, on 08/27/2008, -0/+5Wow, finally someone else who appreciated Alan Cumming as Nightcrawler.
Side Note: I giggle every time I write the name Alan Cumming. - badwithcomputer, on 08/27/2008, -0/+5i think danny devito as penguin, jack nicholson as the joker and michelle pfeiffer as catwoman should get some sort of honorable mention from burton's batman movies.
- LegendaryHitman, on 08/27/2008, -0/+4Nice...lol....
and for the record, i see the full and styled mustachioed women in DC REGULARLY. :^/( - AmyVernon, on 08/28/2008, -0/+4If you read the list, you'll see that the author included Alba merely as an excuse to post a picture of Jessica Alba. "Of course I'm kidding." he said immediately after the pic....
And even though the Christopher Reeve Superman movies were incredibly cheesy, Gene Hackman truly is Lex Luthor. - EatingPie, on 08/28/2008, -0/+4Wow, the list emphasizes just how crummy actors are in superhero movies. Certainly the whole cast of Nolan's Batman Begins and The Dark Knight would stand out in any genre. And Robert Downy Jr. rocks, along with the X-Men references. But that's about it.
What does it say when the list has to include Gene Hackman's *horrible* Lex Luthor (only made worse by Ned Beatty's cries of "Mista Loot-or"), and Christopher Reeve's lifeless Superman? Or Jessica Alba delivering the most cliche "I'm a woman, but I'm strong, really" performance ever.
The the comment would list The Penguin and Catwoman seriously?
I'm very happy to see great performances in the newer films. But definitely give credit where credit is due.
-Pie - davincih, on 08/28/2008, -0/+3At least two of them were this summer. Can't beat TDK and Iron Man. Box office reflects how good their performances were.
Ex: http://digg.com/movies/Summer_Movie_Recap_MrBabyMa ... - inactive, on 08/27/2008, -1/+4Alfred Molina was my fave, but I haven't seen the Dark Knight yet...
- Machine16, on 08/28/2008, -0/+1Did you even read the text? The writer clearly says that he's just kidding.
- iamronburgundy, on 08/28/2008, -0/+1He was also He-Man, and well both movies sucked. :(
- doctechnical, on 08/28/2008, -0/+1Wow, I don't know what you have against Hackman's Lex Luthor. Within 15 minutes of meething him he's got Supes drowning at the bottom of a pool, in a pure battle of wits. Now THAT is a villain I can admire.
- Waiting2awake, on 08/28/2008, -0/+1What no Dolph Lundgren? He IS the punisher.
;-) - Huangism, on 08/28/2008, -1/+1you put Jessica Alba in top 10 by Performance? are you serious?
she's hot but she can't act! - DeepFriedFetus, on 08/28/2008, -2/+2"I remember when I saw X-Men in the theater, my girlfriend commented what a great actor he was. I also vividly remember trying the popcorn trick on my girlfriend and failing miserably. Not because she never once reached for popcorn, but because salt and butter in your peehole stings like a *****."
I don't understand what that has to do with Ian McKellen.
