- fullcircle, on 11/14/2008, -4/+34Always loved "The World Is Not Enough" by Garbage.
- RedHawk911, on 11/14/2008, -4/+31I think my favorite is "You Know My Name", And the worst one is by a mile the new one, it sucks.
- frogman54, on 11/14/2008, -1/+27Octopussy.
Don't remember the song, I just take every opportunity I can to say Octopussy.
Octopussy. - inactive, on 11/14/2008, -2/+27Gotta role with Goldeneye's Theme Song.
It really brought back the sophistication & classiness of 007 - dropping the synth/New Wave sound of the 80's. - Abdax, on 11/14/2008, -1/+22What? No love for Madonna's "Die Another Day?"
Oh yeah. I forgot it sucked. - DaveOrZach, on 11/14/2008, -0/+13I can't wait for the next story on Digg "The Best 007 James Bond Closing Credits."
I get it, there is a new Bond movie coming out. - CoreyTamas, on 11/14/2008, -4/+16You Know My Name is my all-time favorite Bond song. I just love the song and the lyrics in general because I think they really capture the "Bond" feeling... but I took note of how, in the final chorus of the song when he sings "the coldest blood runs through my veins", he includes the horn shots from the old, classic Bond soundtracks. Little touches like that can make an already good song into something brilliant.
- Chrysalii, on 11/14/2008, -0/+11I miss Soundgarden.....
- MrBogard, on 11/14/2008, -3/+13I *love* Chris Cornell
- efitz11, on 11/14/2008, -1/+11he is my mancrush
- icepick314, on 11/14/2008, -4/+14i can't believe Tina Turner isn't there...WTF??!??!!
i LOVED Goldeneye by Tina Turner...
she is such a great singer!!
i don't think any singers from Bond movies could top her... - MakeoutParadise, on 11/14/2008, -1/+10Carly Simon - Nobody Does It Better
- captainspud, on 11/14/2008, -0/+8Hear, hear. That list fails due to a distinct lack of Goldeneye.
- dleesgeetar, on 11/14/2008, -2/+10how about this one?
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i2fBIUUWRb8 - skadus, on 11/14/2008, -0/+6Mmmm. Shirley Manson.
http://images.google.com/images?q=Shirley+Manson - Comanche, on 11/14/2008, -1/+7"Live and Let Die", "Goldfinger", "View to a Kill" are great. "You know my name" was an amazing song for the new bond. I am still not a fan of the QoS theme, it doesn't feel Bond to me.
- pygmy, on 11/14/2008, -3/+9what no Garbage?
- phrenzy, on 11/14/2008, -1/+7Strange trivia I am surprised that I even know - "Goldeneye's" theme was originally supposed to be done by ace of base. The song was released a decade later as a track called "The Juvenile" (which simply replaced their original line "The Goldeneye")
The lyrics are typical of ace of base's random reciting of cliches and american phrases but the music is awesome bond music.

would have been a decent choice. - HallenbeckJoe, on 11/14/2008, -4/+10I like "Another Way to Die".
- bindermichi, on 11/14/2008, -0/+5music yes, lyrics no
- bindermichi, on 11/14/2008, -0/+5Learn to read the full text :)
008. The World Is Not Enough – Garbage (1999) - Natnie, on 11/14/2008, -0/+5As opposed to the crude and obnoxious yank. (that means you)
- greatgatsbyII, on 11/14/2008, -0/+5you know you did, you know you did, you know you diiiiiiiiieeiiiiid.
- bindermichi, on 11/14/2008, -1/+6Putting "Another Way to Die" on 6 while "Tomorrow Never Dies" is only on 8 sound unfair. That song had much more class as a bond theme.
- mmx2000, on 11/14/2008, -0/+4I lied, it's Gladys Knight. My bad.
- MrSkills, on 11/14/2008, -0/+4Just the one Brit?
- aenima987, on 11/14/2008, -0/+4Me too :(
- inactive, on 11/14/2008, -1/+5I dont.
- specialK16, on 11/14/2008, -0/+4Has anyone heard the Theme remix by Moby?
- tanner4105, on 11/14/2008, -1/+5http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TMoJRLStD9c my favorite for sure
- whytey, on 11/14/2008, -1/+5I totally agree
- cielo23, on 11/14/2008, -0/+4This was easily my favorite. I believe he ( Paul McCartney ) wanted Amy Winehouse to sing the theme this time around.
From article below:
He said: "I think Amy Winehouse would be really good, and I think she would do a really good job. My advice to her would be not to try and rhyme 'Solace' with anything - that's too hard."
http://www.mi6.co.uk/news/index.php?itemid=5981 - MCA2142, on 11/14/2008, -1/+4I thought "Tomorrow Never Dies" by Sheryl Crow wasn't half bad.
- MitchCumstein, on 11/14/2008, -0/+3One of McCartney's best solo songs - love the reggae part in the middle.
- marcoionox, on 11/14/2008, -0/+3*pfew* : Expected a RickRoll
- Zippo, on 11/14/2008, -4/+7Live and Let Die by Guns and Roses... yes, GnR didn't -originally- sing it, but damn, they do a good job.
- coz23, on 11/14/2008, -1/+4Always a big fan of the Living Daylights, both the theme song and the movie.
http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=UUGsSBaLrVw - Volatile36, on 11/14/2008, -0/+3It's definitely a lot more ominous sounding.
- diggopolous, on 11/14/2008, -0/+3except that Axl sings it like Ethel Merman
- inactive, on 11/14/2008, -1/+4Agreed, that song ***** rocks. I was so dissapointed with the new song when I heard it, I expected a lot more.
- Chrysalii, on 11/14/2008, -1/+4WTF
"The James Bond Theme" was written solely by Monty NORMON, it's gone to court a few times, and each time it was declared to be written by Monty Normon alone. John Barry only did the original orchestration (and the ones on the films he scored)
Oh and it was the theme for Dr. No, which makes it eligible for this list...so where the hell is it?
Who the hell is Monty Smith? - frostw, on 11/14/2008, -1/+4Goldfinger. Bassey. Win.
- inactive, on 11/14/2008, -0/+3I will admit that I liked it.
Think its a whole lot better than the newest one. - Shogi, on 11/14/2008, -0/+3I had never heard it before, and I must say it was pretty good.
- inactive, on 11/14/2008, -2/+4I still like the Guns n Roses version better.
- Azerael, on 11/15/2008, -0/+2All of the bond themes David Arnold has worked on have featured a motif that has also appeared in the title song.
- FreddieD, on 11/14/2008, -0/+2They must have sung it during the 25% of the time when Axl wasn't faking an excuse not to sing and canceling concerts at the last minute.
- ayeroxor, on 11/14/2008, -0/+2Octopussy.
