Terminator Salvation Details & Myths Debunked
slashfilm.com — According to McG, the film will feature the machines that were visible in quick, passing shots in previous Terminator films. In particular, McG suggested that the Harvesters will apparently play a prominent, Matrix-like role, gigantic machines that are “stomping through the future, harvesting people.

Terminator 3 sucked ass.- norman619, on 07/27/2008, -2/+3Whoa there tex. T3 wasn't THAT good. :-P
- fatas, on 07/27/2008, -9/+3Why the ***** would you?
- punkcat, on 07/27/2008, -16/+8sorry, number 3 spoiled my taste for terminator.
- M724, on 07/28/2008, -0/+1Only if they don't do it right.
- MarrowMan, on 07/27/2008, -0/+4still McG kinda sucks...he could say anything and it could still bomb...I just hope it doesn't
- monkbot1, on 07/27/2008, -0/+1at least it's not Uwe Boll-ox, although i'm not optimistic of this film being great
- Rizoh, on 07/27/2008, -1/+176. A cameo by Arnie after the credits.
- PHLAK, on 07/27/2008, -4/+27"5. The film will end on a cliffhanger"
That alone confirms the death of the Terminator series.- jave8u, on 07/27/2008, -0/+9I prefer to not hang on cliffs
- BenKenobi88, on 07/27/2008, -0/+6I don't understand why they think it's good to tell us there's a cliffhanger...I don't think I'd care in the theater, but that clearly just spoiled the movie a bit...
- monkbot1, on 07/27/2008, -0/+7"The film will end on a cliffhanger"
Stallone?- Philbert, on 07/27/2008, -1/+3Yes that made me too wonder if Stallone was going to be in it.
- PHLAK, on 07/27/2008, -1/+100John Connor, for one, does not welcome our new robot overlords.
- MommaLu, on 07/27/2008, -5/+10I am super psyched about this movie, sucks it doesn't come out until summer 2009. Guess I'll have to get my Terminator fix with the TV series, which is AWESOME!
- hpfilter, on 07/27/2008, -13/+4So it seems like Dark Knight is OUT, Terminator is IN in Digg
At least both allow our man obsession for Christian Bale. - rojano17, on 07/27/2008, -5/+11I regret seeing T3 so much, i remember watching the first two movies years ago and thinking they were awesome but after seeing the third one and realizing it was a pile of stinking feces i had to see 1 and 2 again, only to realize i was much too impressionable back then :(
- jrinaudo07, on 07/27/2008, -1/+8isnt this the man that directed the Charlie's Angels movies?.....Hollywood ladies and gentlemen
- Jovensenforcer, on 07/27/2008, -7/+3The terminator really turned into a political dooshball quickly. "Come with me if you want to live... in a state where taxes are out of control."
- paulisnotdead, on 07/27/2008, -0/+9You know, I think this could turn out pretty good. So far the only thing that has made me anxious is the cliffhanger thing, everything else sounds spot on for what I'd like to see.
- norman619, on 07/27/2008, -0/+1Flashbacks of The Matirx.
- Janizzary, on 07/27/2008, -1/+4Also...
http://www.slashfilm.com/2008/07/26/dark-knight-wr ... - fletcher008, on 07/27/2008, -1/+7terminator 3 is something im considering a bump in the road. so far, this movie seems to be bringing the franchise back on track to the original films. the "cliffhanger" may be a good thing if this film is done right.
- cquilliam, on 07/27/2008, -0/+2T1, T2 and SCC is the franchise. I, along with the writers of the show, do not consider T3 as part of the storyline.
- angusm, on 07/27/2008, -0/+8With four movies and counting, the relationship between Skynet and John Connor is starting to look like the relationship between Wile E. Coyote and the Roadrunner: no matter what it does, Skynet never seems to be able to catch a break.
- solid12345, on 07/27/2008, -2/+11Cliffhanger, I can see it now
T-800 "John...I am your father...you are one of many computer programs created to maintain order, all your friends except 3 dozen men and women for procreation will perish"- kefkaantakrist, on 07/27/2008, -3/+0God I so wanted the Terminator and Matrix storylines to mesh. It makes so much sense. Unfortunately from watching Animatrix and T3 it clearly can not happen.
- ZenMojo, on 07/28/2008, -0/+1So you know about that story, too?
- Sornos, on 07/27/2008, -1/+4Perhaps I missed something, but who is McG?
- Sil369, on 07/27/2008, -1/+1xenu
- one70bpm, on 07/27/2008, -0/+0http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McG
wikipedia to the rescue!- Sornos, on 07/27/2008, -0/+1I wish I hadn't asked what I did. I thought that this was going to be a good movie.
- LilRabbitFooFoo, on 08/11/2008, -0/+3A director so bad, he makes Michael Bay look talented at storytelling...
- norman619, on 07/27/2008, -0/+1Sornos:
You were way too optimistic. I bet it will suck ass. Dumbing down the machines to give the humans a chance. The chosen director and the premise seem to be a good recipe for fail at the box office. An army of sentient machines vs. a rag tag group of humans who are not as well armed, not very well armored. This alone will ruin the movie for me. What made the other Terminator movies great, with the obvious exception of T3, was the cat and mouse feel to them. It still bugged me that the terminator missed so dam much when it had such a clear shot at its target. - JohnboiWaltune, on 07/28/2008, -0/+1A very stupid man who directs movies
- banido, on 07/27/2008, -1/+1Come with me if you want to live.
- BluesFan, on 07/27/2008, -1/+13I hope they make it 18+R, I want to see a lot of killing.....anything less defeats the purpose of a terminator.
- Sil369, on 07/27/2008, -6/+1go to iraq
- Stormwern, on 07/27/2008, -2/+1Matrix-like? Think they mean War of the Worlds.
- cadmiumpaint, on 07/27/2008, -2/+2This could go either way. I mean he did Charlies Angels, but he also did We are Marshall. Lets hope he's grown up a bit and realized that movie doens't have to be a 2 hr music video. He doens't need to use every VFX artist in hollywood to tell a story.
- Punjabdasher, on 07/27/2008, -5/+13Hey, ***** you, two of my friends died fighting the Terminator.
- onux16, on 07/27/2008, -0/+0There's a link to related articles at the bottom of the page, one of which includes set pics from the movie. In a few of the photos, the double helix from the Terminator's eyes (as seen on one of the images recently posted here on Digg) is drawn on the 7-11 sign. I know I'm not the first to realize this; I'm just spreading the knowledge.
- Scaryclouds, on 07/27/2008, -0/+8It seems McG is saying "***** it" to T3 and the Sarah Chronicles. My faith in this movie is increasing.
- khoa1708, on 07/27/2008, -7/+2Rob Hawkins: My name is Robert Hawkins. It's 6:42 AM on Saturday, May 23rd. Approximately seven hours ago, some thing attacked the city. I don't know what it is. If you found this tape, I mean if you're watching this right now, then you probably know more about it than I do. Whatever it is, it killed my brother Jason Hawkins, it killed my best friend Hudson Platt and Marlena Diamond, and many many others. We've crashed into Central Park and we've taken shelter underneath this bridge. The military has begun bombing the creature and we're caught in the middle. Okay, ready?
[Rob turns camera to Beth]
Rob Hawkins: It's okay.
Beth McIntyre: I don't know what to say.
Rob Hawkins: Just tell them who you are.
Beth McIntyre: My name is Elizbaeth McIntyre. I don't know why this is happening. And we're going to wait here until this passes. - junkieSaysNO, on 07/27/2008, -2/+3damn it, I hate cliff hanger endings... it's like when you're masturbating and when you're right about to blow, your mom walks in on you and ruins the entire moment... very unsatisfying!
- swrostmore, on 07/27/2008, -0/+3"will be treated with as much silver as a typical black and white film, about 3x as much as normal"
Can somebody explain what the ***** that means and why it's an important detail?- justiceape, on 07/27/2008, -0/+1That was puzzling me too. I can't find anything on it.
- bjornski, on 07/27/2008, -0/+3Richness of colors and grain detail.
Photography thing. Photographic/movie films are silver based. The more silver particles (and the smaller) the better image. - bjornski, on 07/27/2008, -0/+4Thin of the silver particles as "physical pixels".
More pixels = higher resolution.
Same concept. - swrostmore, on 07/27/2008, -0/+2Very informative, bjornski.
Just when I thought hollywood movies couldn't possibly get more expensive, now they are literally coating them with precious metals.. - bjornski, on 07/28/2008, -0/+1Silver has always been used in film. (well, almost always).
It's one reason film is so expensive.
- devotional, on 07/27/2008, -8/+1if you're on myspace, please feel free to add my terminator fans group!
http://groups.myspace.com/TheTerminatorFans - havokdu, on 07/27/2008, -1/+1Once again, keep in mind that James Cameron specifically recommended McG for this movie and is watching very closely what is it happening on the set.
Rumors also indicate that he asked Arnie for a cameo.- LilRabbitFooFoo, on 08/11/2008, -0/+1I call BS. Jim is not involved in this (or T3) AT ALL. If he was involved in the story or even as a producer, I'd give it a slight reasonable doubt. But this is produced and written by the same hacks who wrote and produced T3. The only difference is they now have an even WORSE director at the helm. Run, don't walk, away from this...
- inefekt, on 07/28/2008, -2/+02018?
A little to close to be talking about cyborgs and robotic overlords??- Darksoul, on 07/28/2008, -0/+2Not really if you consider how fast technology is moving and consider the military has to have something always more advanced and are consitantly creating new technology for war how is that so outlandish.? I mean look how fast consumer technology is growing by the time you buy a new computer a hole new better system is created it has always been this way but as we get more and more advanced the more that gap in time gets smaller and smaller.
Its not so hard to believe if you use your brain.....- inefekt, on 07/30/2008, -0/+0***** you.
We're not even close to realising human level AI let alone self conscious robots/cyborgs. It's estimated that we'll reach that AI level in 2030 so how the ***** are we supposed to have robots taking over the world by 2018 you *****? It's only 10 freaking years away. I am well aware that technology is advancing at an exponential rate but 10 years is a bit of a stretch to go from roomba vacuum cleaners to cyborgs intent on the destruction of humanity!
- inefekt, on 07/30/2008, -0/+0***** you.

- ZenMojo, on 07/28/2008, -1/+1Considering a schoolteacher sued Warner Bros. claiming that the Matrix and Terminator were both ripped off from her single original treatment, is it really smart to drag the damn harvesters from the Matrix into the Terminator prequel? Are they trying to prove her point or what?
What's next, they run Skynet on human body heat? Humans black out the sun at the end of Salvation? - SketchaMPM, on 07/28/2008, -0/+1I hope the rumor that John Connor dies and a terminator is created in his likeness, is bogus.
- learnfilm, on 07/29/2008, -0/+0Terminator should be a good one, it will be another 100+mil movie
