- Tobey, on 10/12/2007, -2/+37I can't believe it's been a year already.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+31That's how I found out about digg!!!! On the first TWIT, they mentioned something about digg, and I have been here ever since.
I havn't gotten around to listen to another one, though. - nayr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+30me, too.
TWiT is one of the best, if not the best, podcasts out there. - Lacero, on 10/12/2007, -1/+27I will send Pruneface Spatula a birthday cake in Second Life. ;)
j/k - Matrixsjd, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24Long live TWiT! I've listened to them since the beginning, and loved every minute of it.
- fitzfan, on 10/12/2007, -5/+23Have you been living under a rock for the last year? Leo does like 5 or more podcasts and a vidcast now, and I hope you have heard of revision 3. If not, you might be voted off Digg island.
- LDaVinci, on 10/12/2007, -2/+19What are you talking about? You must be one of those guys who "think" everything must be free... of course they should worry about how many downloads they have!... Or do you think that people like Leo, Patrick, Dvorak, Kevin, Woz, etc, have nothing else to do than to keep pleasing your royal ass...
So far Leo has managed to keep TWIT without sponsors... just AOL... and that's an achievement... but they do need to make some money out of it, everybody does, and I am happy to have donated to the "TWIT cause" just to help them (even with something little) to keep up their amazing work. - superal1394, on 10/12/2007, -0/+16omg (ponies), I remember, I started listening the first time John C. Dvorak said "I Get No Spam!" This is how i found out about Digg, DL.TV, and so much more.
Oh, and whatever happened to the box of junk? - adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -2/+18G4's main problem is that they don't know what they want to be! First it was a gaming...then they bought TechTV to get the viewer number and wanted to be a game/tech station, then they decided that the station should be a gaming channel again. And now they are trying to rip off spike TV....
- camintmier, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Happy birthday to TWiT!
Just re-listened to the 1st episode, and wow, TWiT's grown alot. - masonreloaded, on 10/12/2007, -1/+14If they really wanted to "use" the listeners, there would be ads all over the TWiT pages, ads all over the show, "premium" content. Guess what? There isn't.
While many people say "Oh, I'm not in this for the money...", I think Leo is the first person that I have genuinely believed. He really seems that he's not looking to sell for millions, he wants to make a living doing what he loves, and knows that selling out would lose him creative control... - adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -0/+13Leo, Patrick, Roger Chang, Kevin Rose, Robert Heron, David Preager...a few others. Jessica Corbin was on once but she made herself look kinda dumb and hasn't been back since. Yoshi was a regular for a while but he got another job somewhere and is a new dad so he kinda dropped out. John "I get no spam" Dvorak, got on a while ago and is there on and off and they have a various other screen savers. They just need the Sarge and Megan to make it complete.
- jamesbenet, on 10/12/2007, -3/+15TWiT is the best podcast out there!!! Congrats.
- b0rg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12christophersisk: "I was the other way around. I found RoTSS on Digg."
Heh. Same here. Still enjoying both. It was a real disappointment to me when the original Screen Savers TV show sorta fell apart.
Leo's presence is reassuring to those of us with a little grey hair that we're not totally out of the loop.
Now where did I leave my damn keys? - BRSQUIRRL, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11TWIT Drinking Game:
Take one sip if...
* anyone names the food/beverage that they are enjoying while recording
* Dvorak plugs his blog ("dvorak.org/blog")
* someone co-hosts from a strange location (an airport, under their car, Starbucks, etc.)
* either Robert or Roger mentions his current employment status
* the show takes place in front of a live audience
* Dvorak says that he gets no spam
* Leo uses the phrase "in the can"
Take two sips if...
* they take a question from a listener or the audience
* Leo mentions his book
* any of the hosts gives the specific model of headset/microphone that they are using
* the "box of crap" is mentioned
* someone trashes the user interface of a Google product
Take a big gulp if...
* a female co-hosts
* a well-known tech personality makes an unplanned visit (e.g. Mitnick's visit)
* Leo mentions that he is trying to get Martin to join the show (two gulps if he actually does) - gamabunta, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10dvorak.org/blog
- kwilliam71, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10Return of the Screensavers... remember when Leo wanted to call it that? rotss.com was still up until recently. Just noticed today that it was down.
Did Patrick Norton ever give away his box of crap? I don't think so. - Rigbymatt, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12Woz is good in small doses.
Dvorak is a little obnoxious but fits very well and does help balance the show
you can read more about him on his blog, by the way, is at dvorak dot org slash blog
oh did i mention he has a blog? its at dvorak dot org slash blog - xavier42, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12G4 is complete garbage now. Who needs reruns of star trek??
I love TwiT, I have been listening for a few months now. - Rigbymatt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9they have the Woz on sometimes too.
Twit is far better than G4 because they produce it themselves, its less mass marketed for TV - adml_shake, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9This was the first podcast I ever listened too, great stuff. I'm glad they moved away from the live audiance shows though, I like it more when it's just them sitting around talking. And they need to get the Sarge on there damn it!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9Both TWIT and DL.TV make me a happy geek. I was pissed off when TechTV started the downward spiral, but with these two shows on the net I can happily ignore that god forsaken channel. Pat and Leo made that channel what it was. Hopefully they'll find a way to turn these projects into large bags of money. Long live the REAL Screensavers!
- Tobey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7"Oh, and whatever happened to the box of junk?"
I could be wrong, but I think Leo gave it to some dude in Australia on his KFI show. - caca4cocoPuffs, on 10/12/2007, -4/+11back in the day the screensavers used to be awsome, too bad G4 brought tech tv, i cant stand that channel now.
- highvoltage, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I was very saddened by what G4 did to our beloved TechTV. They just *don't* get it. Not every geek is under 20...and wants or needs to watch 3 billion video games shows. There are geeks that are 30, 40, 50, etc... Patrick, Leo and crew seemed to "get" that. I was also very dismayed by how they choose to go about firing the TechTV crew. Moving and luring many out of their native area to a new town for all of two/three weeks and then saying "your fired". Well Comcast if you are listening or care I will never ever buy another product or service from you. If you care I wouldn't be caught dead watching the StarTrek/ManShow channel either. Living well is the best revenge so all I can say is way to go former TechTV crew. There is also another crew of former techtv renegades producing an online show called from the shadows http://fromtheshadows.tv/. Very Cool. I wish all these good people success in these noble endeavours.
- dag68, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Oh, he's been doing it for a lot more than one year! He's the most entertaining and informative ass-talker I've heard, though.
- Machine, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8When I come home, I usually put on The Next Generation while I make my dinner... and for a while there, G4 used to play these animations in the corner of the screen that had the same sound as a door opening on the Enterprise... which made things incredibly confusing if you weren't paying attention to the screen!
When it was replaced by someone screaming "BANZAI!" every 5 minutes, I decided that it was time to find something else to have on in the background.
Normal little channel logos are bad enough... but these take up a considerable chunk of the screen and make noise - christophersisk, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I was the other way around. I found RoTSS on Digg.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Happy B-day TWiTs! Hey, if y'all really like the program, donate to their programming. $2/mo.
- flubba, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6too.. much.. water...
gah. - joncannon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Another TWiT is in the can!
Congratulations to Leo Laporte and all the other TWiTs as well as to the TWiT Army. ;) - matthiasgoodman, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8You mean ¡Feliz Cumpleaños!, no?
- MikeCampo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6No I don't think he ever did. The crap must continue to build...
- neozeed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6so cool!
Dvorak rules! www.dvorak.org/blog (takes a drink) - Falc, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8yea, with twit and dl.tv plus other vidcast/podcasts like diggnation and indigital its like othe soul of techtv lives on... although i do long for the days when i could tune in daily and get the lastest tech news from patrick and leo and the gang on the screensavers and call for help...
who the hell still watches G4? sessler and morgan webb are the only thing worth watching on that black hole of a network... - Jrr6415sun, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8That's awesome, I love TWiT, but i've just started listening recently
- Zukunft, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I really don't miss TechTV now. I think we're better off now with all the podcasts out there by the guys
- bmc152006, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5same here, i found out about digg from TWiT (formerly Revenge of the Screen Savers)
- mbrindam, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I only know what that means because I watch Dora the Explorer with my 3 year old.
- BigT4187, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Congrats guys! Keep up the great work!
- LDaVinci, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Happy Birthday TWIT... from Guatemala.... may you have many more to come, and keep spreading your roots...
- teentech, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5They only called it that becuase they got a cease and desist (sp?) order from g4 that that name was copyrighted blah...blah..blah
- Duston, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Listening since the first episode. I was missing the old TechTV then Leo et al, fixed that. Thanks guys.
- SirThom, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Happy Birthday, TWiT!

- blockquote, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3i'm still waiting for my box of crap. cmon patrick!
- ryanmeadows, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3All these comments make me wonder how many of us are people who found out from Kevin's post on his blog. I remember when he wanted beta testers for his "small project" !
- Reddog_x2000, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Much love to twit.
