- heavensblade23, on 10/12/2007, -4/+43Yes, but the american public is largely unfamiliar with the grey hulk. He's gone back and forth between various personas over the years. Sometimes Banner is the Hulk all the time, sometimes he transforms. Sometimes he's green, sometimes he's grey. Sometimes he retains Banner's intelligence, other times he doesn't.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -11/+48Why is he going be to be gay?
- zetec, on 10/12/2007, -1/+30@BobTheAlien:
nope, sorry, the original Hulk was gray. Stan Lee was told to make him a different, more contrasting color because the comic book technology wasn't very good at the time, and the Gray hulk was hard to distinguish with contrast and whatnot due to the printing technologies of the day. He decided to make him green, but did switch back for a while after the technology improved. After that, he switched back from green and gray every few years, then I believe they even wrote it into the story somehow (I'm not sure how, I'm not a huge hulk fan, but I do remember there being a cover with gray hulk and green hulk facing off. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+32I'm fine with that. Wasn't he grey before green anyways?
- marcuschi, on 10/12/2007, -4/+28damn hollywood affirmative action...
- Satanael, on 10/12/2007, -3/+27Unpossible.
- rstarr, on 10/12/2007, -3/+23I bet you spell it "center" and "color."
You rebel. - fantasticFlan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18Are Europeans or some other nationality somehow more familiar with the different Hulks? Really wondering because the way you're referring to "the American public" seems oddly specific.
- Reeds2, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12No, Uwe Boll will.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11@woojoo "He finally gave up the vegetarian diet?"
Yeah, he stopped eating vegetarians and vegans. - elam82, on 10/12/2007, -5/+15I'm a non-conformist i spell it gray
- bob_the_alien, on 10/12/2007, -5/+15yes, and no, Grey was in between two different green hulks.
The Grey hulk was very cool though, he was smarter, actually prolly most Hulk fans favorite of the different variations of the Hulk.
The original Green (Stupid) Hulk is pretty much the one the American ppl will recognize, but there have been many different Hulk changes. - jayfarer, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10That's what the movies are for - getting the majority of American audiences acquainted with the newer, lesser known elements of the comics.
- spookyttws, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Gray Hulk sounds like more fun than the current green Hulk.
- Desjardin, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Yes, there's nothing better than a human-strength idiot lacking self-control. (sarcasm).
I hope he's still green. He's known better as green, and he gets stronger as green. Gray is cool and all, but green smashes crap and doesn't think why before he does it, like gray does. So much more fun that way. - themarq, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3A Mr Fixit Hulk would be awesome, but most people would not accept it.
- Cloned, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5Let me guess, Micheal Bay will be directing?
- zonk3r, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4digg me down
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5What people don't understand is the 1st concept was for Hulk to be Grey ( always had green eyes though ) and later in the early 90's he went back to being grey long before becoming Mr.Fixit. Jeff Purves created the Mr.Fixit character and drew this series up until Dale Keown/Peter David took it over , both had great artistic value and input into the their versions of grey Hulk. Keown created The Darkness and Pitt comic characters

- Hellomoto, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4maybe the hulk is green but then he finds these new powers and a grey suit takes over the hulk
- DICKENS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I'm pretty sure if your going to see a Hulk movie, you'll be up-to-date on your lore...
i don't think you would accidentally wander in. - dheaddy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Mirror: http://www.firstshowing.net/2007/04/20/the-new-incredible-hulk-is-not-green-hes-grey/
- bob_the_alien, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2ok, sorry, correcting my comment above, I'm used to the Las Vegas Enforcer Gray Hulk, and the classic green savage hulk, I never knew the original hulk also had gray skin but was still savage. Thank you wiki, and thank you lordskywalker for posting it.
- speedyrev, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Thank you. All the other mirrors missed it.
- charliekwalker, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1The grey hulk thing doesn't turn me off. ***** plots and ***** actors turn me off. I don't know the plot, but I like Ed Norton... I withhold judgement.
- swingerbone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1different color meant a different hue of green not grey. Arad was just being coy because he felt that he was being pushed on the topic of Hulk when he was there to discuss Spider-Man 3.
- semiotix, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5The best of all the Hulk-variants is "Savage Banner," which combines Bruce Banner's strength with the savage (green) Hulk's intellect and self-control. Coincidentally, it's the version I can most easily see Ed Norton playing.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3I hope they bring back Eric Banner :)
- ariez84, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Green Hulk > Grey Hulk.
Green Hulk is the savage hulk, power is pretty much unlimited. The Grey Hulk is the calmer, more intelligent but less powerful hulk. So we can assume this is the "Superhero" movie where Hulk is a hero and can actually talk and be kind of witty. I hope to see both in the movie, with Grey Hulk in most of the movie and Green Hulk when Abomination need a can of whoopass. - TDR25, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2I could've sworn I heard Avi Arad was dead. Also, did anyone who just glimpsed the headline think that it said the Hulk will be gay?!
- Kwipper, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I for one would love to see the Grey Hulk in action. So I am assuming he's going to be talking *****, while beating the crap out of thugs with light-posts.
- nuttybar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2i think they got the Hulk confused with The Thing...could happen to anyone
- taswizard, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1great, a grey hulk
why not a cloud like galactus in fantastic four? - kchamp10, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I liked the green hulk, the made for tv movies years ago were good with the green hulk. Hell, I still enjoy watching the old Incredible Hulk TV shows with Bruce Banner.
- smiertspionam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Since they are gonna base this new film partly on the original tv show, I'm pretty sure that despite being grey, he'll still be the mindless, savage Hulk. No Banner Brain. No Mr. Fixit. Think Bruce Banner/Hulk from The Ultimates.....
- xmuzik, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1this is the way i look at it, even if they had pee-wee herman as the new hulk, it still would be better than the 1st one they put out a few years back
- curbcheck, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1No need for a Grey Hulk, Ed Norton makes everything a success.
- tumoas, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1they're making a new hulk movie? cool.
anyone got a mirror? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Wow... so as if we aren't getting enough "comic book to movie" adaptations, now we have to get repeats of comic book to movie adaptations? Nothing against the Hulk but I really wish Hollywood would try doing something original for once and stop basing everything they do around a) a book (Harry Potter), b) a comic book (the endless horrible string of movies like Electra, Catwoman, Daredevil, Fantastic 4, etc), c) a remake of an older and probably better movie (or worse yet, a remake of a remake... ugh), or d) stupid CGI talking animals (which we always get two of us as well... can anyone say "Madagascar" and "The Wild"...).
- themastersb, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3Remember the first Hulk movie came out and how horrible it was?
- Slybri, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0 The key to a great superhero movie lies in the supervillain. I don't care what color the Hulk is. If the villain he is fighting in the movie isn't cool or interesting, if the movie doesn't spend time developing him, the whole movie will suck. Just look a Superman Returns.
- HanSolo69, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1i would a grey hulk would look a lot better on screen then another big cheesy green hulk.
- Ratteler, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Or a latina for Sue. How bout Punisher in Florida pulling his shirt out of the surf.
Avi Arad is that villain from "Last Action Hero". He's destroying all the super heroes in his world by destroying their properties in our world. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1"what type of super hero does more damage to a city then the villain?"
Um, ALL of them!!! - zonk3r, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I'm not familiar with the grey Hulk but that sounds a lot like Solomon Grundy...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solomon_Grundy_(comics) - LordSkywalker, on 10/12/2007, -6/+5I don't think this will end up being true. They would be alienating the majority of American audiences who don't know about the Hulk originally being grey. Plus they wouldn't like it anyway, assuming the also go with the personality of the Grey Hulk (less powerful, hedonistic, arrogant, crafty, and distant).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hulk_(comics)#Gray_Hulk.2FJoe_Fixit - matthewniverse, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1Wow... I'll just go ahead and copy/paste my comment from the "Galactus is a Cloud" thread right in here. Just change "Galactus" to "Hulk" and “giant guy in armor” to "giant green guy" and it's all still applicable. Sheesh, when will Hollywood learn?! Stop messing with FUNDAMENTAL comic book imagery.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The simple truth is, despite what the Marvel character Galactus TECHNICALLY looks like to his prospective entrées, or that he has been done and redone in several incarnations of the comic books, to most Marvel fans when you think “Galactus” you think “giant guy in armor” the same way when you think of The Phoenix you think of Jean Grey surrounded by a bird of fire. It’s iconic imagery people! Doing anything less than “THE” iconic look, to me, shows a lack of respect to the original creation (a.k.a. the only reason your movie is getting made to begin with!) and is basically a cop-out by Marvel.
Though yeah… this is probably just a rumor so I’m not going to start my boycott just yet. - karlthebug, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0I am actually more offended by the fact that they feel the need to completely "re-boot" the franchise after the Ang Lee version. When Avi Arad says its going to be "touching" and "human" - isn't that exactly the ***** people hated about the first movie? I guess I am in the huge minority that not only thought the first was "OK", but actually thought it was great. One of the few Marvel related films that actually made the characters feel like real people and had a plot that actually made sense and didn't jump around like crazy. I think its one of those movies that people like to bash on because it was a commercial flop, but will end up being remembered as a great movie and a worthy interpretation of the Hulk mythology. And the more pieces of ***** like "Fantastic Four" get made, the more likely this far-fetched scenario becomes.
- flamethrowerxxl, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1He doesn't necessarily say that the Hulk will be gray. He simply says he'll be a different color. He could end up being lime green as opposed to the deeper green of the first Hulk movie. I personally would like him to be gray, but I don't think America would understand why he's gray. Meh, Ed Norton is Bruce Banner. That's all I care about.
