- empressofmetal, on 10/12/2007, -3/+31I want to see "Fanboys" which will NOT suck at all. Looking forward to Spidey, Harry Potter, too.
- 0U8I2, on 10/12/2007, -2/+22Fanboys looks very funny. Plus I very much cannot wait to see Kristin Bell in the slave leia bikini! :P
- mywhitenoise, on 10/12/2007, -13/+31Resident Evil movies suck ass.
- vsaint, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1714/25 of the movies are sequels or remakes (halloween). So much for originality.
- rasterbator, on 10/12/2007, -1/+16Nancy Drew is a little known character? Obviously written by someone born in the late 80s. Nancy Drew mysteries are very well known. They are the chick-version of the Hardy Boys mysteries, which I read a few when I was a youngster.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nancy_Drew - MackDiesel2010, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15I think I'm getting a clue...
- Loftonian, on 10/12/2007, -2/+15More like screw theater PRICES.
Nothing surpasses a THX theater experience, IMHO. - carbonetc, on 10/12/2007, -0/+12Underdog has an anticipation element?
- dcbebop, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12@quomen
Not to be a pain, but your math is wrong. Isn't it: (1 + GF) x 10 = 100 + 10 x GF
However this still holds true: (100 + 10 x GF) < hooker - TheKlaw, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10I know, seriously. Nancy Drew is VERY well known.
- empressofmetal, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8@Retuow - While Sin City 2 is greatly anticipated, it doesn't come out til 2008.
- MaynardJK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I'll go see FF2 as soon as I get the hour and a half of my life back from watching the first one.
- decepticrat, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10@kenvsryu
I agree with you in theory, but I'm afraid of Michael Bay... very afraid. Either way, Starscream FTW! - guytoronto, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Die Hard 3 was way better than 2.
- edzieba, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Day Watch is a sequel too.
- satch89digg, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7Well, until the whole 'Galactus is a cloud' thing hit, I was looking forward to FF2: Silver Surfer. I'm still gonna go see it with the hope that the whole thing was reverse-propaganda from the Rush Hour 3 advertising team to throw us all some sort of curve. But Spiderman 3!! Venom, dudes! Venom! 'nuff said
- tc811, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6There's nothing wrong with Shrek, it's a great series; I would gladly watch all of them again if I had them.
- empressofmetal, on 10/12/2007, -3/+9I'm hetero and all, but I totally want to see Kristen Bell in the slave Leia bikini! (I saw one pic, but it was from mid-chest up.) I have to say, Bell was perfect casting for this movie.
- SMITHN4, on 10/12/2007, -6/+11I know it sounds cheesy but I'm looking forward to shrek III, they are always fun
- vsaint, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I'm actually going to amend this by saying that day watch (although awesome looking) is also a sequel, and if you count old tv shows or well known franchises (looking at you ms. drew) the original movie number drops to 6.

*The Summer movies were listed in order of release date starting from May 4, 2007 and ending with September 21, 2007. As of this posting, these are the official movie releases dates, which are subject to change without advanced notice. - gasxtreme, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5There are some outstanding movies on that list.... Personally I really don't pay attention to whether movies are a sequel or not, I take them as they appear in the previews, and who is in them and go from there.... Out of that list, I'm really looking forward to:
Spider-Man 3, Pirates Of The Caribbean: At World’s End, Ocean's 13, Mama's Boy, I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry, The Simpsons, and Rush Hour 3
I think this is gonna be a pretty summer for movies :) - astrotrain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4It sounds like this will be a whiny teenage girl version, give me the original 1970s version when she pared up with the
Hardy Boys on television. - astrotrain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Yeah he hires Peter Cullen but not Frank Welker... this is one of many screw ups that this Michael Bay movie is in for. I think Spielberg was smoking some of that wacky weed when he put Bay in charge of making this flick.
Now watch, this movie will flop, and who will the MPAA balme?.... Yeah you guessed it, the Intranet... just like Universal Pictures tried to do, they stated the 'leaked' version of the movie was the unfinished product. But in reality it was the finished product, and so forth the Hulk movie turned out to be a big green CGI pile of poo. - mrmcgoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Wait, Frank Welker isn't doing the voice of Megatron in Transformers? Say it ain't so.
- DryvBy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4@Shky
How about you're going to be a lonely virgin if you keep that "Die Hard 3 sucks" attitude. - screwzluse, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4I would almost agree with you. I love the theater experience though. Nothing beats the sound and being in a movie that you've been excited about for a while with 50 other people that have the same excitement. For instance, I think some of my most memorable experiences that I wouldn't trade would be:
1.) Going to a theater on a Navy base and seeing We Were Soldiers with 150 other people. Pretty funny to get the laughs from a bunch of Navy guys when jokes are about them.
2.) Watching 300 with a huge amount of people excited for the movie. The cheers and such when the backstabber gets his due (you know who I'm talking about ;-) )
3.) Laughing at some of the women in the theater getting completely grossed out by Planet Terror.
I like watching movies at home with close friends but most times, I'd much rather see them in theater no matter how "grainy" they are. - MackenzieArbour, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4come on... who doesn't want to see spiderman 3?
- RomieGalaxy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I read all the Nancy Drew books when I was a tweener and loved them. Looking forward to it, though I won't go to the theatre to see it, will rent it.
- astrotrain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Thats what Hollywood is betting on, its been centuries since the originals have been released, time to make money from the next generation with a updated versions. And of course most of the folks who saw the originals are curious to find out what was changed and find out for $10.00, that just the actors, clothes, and decade has changed, while the story line remains intact.
As for Halloween, it will be interesting if Zombie uses an updated John Carpenter's score (the original OST is brilliant and gives you a atmosphere), or will he use yet another remake 'I'm your boogie man' (I'm sure that will be in the movie someplace). Will this mean, that Zombie will be re-making all the other Halloween sequels including the WTF Installment "Halloween III"... ugh whats the movie industry coming to, no wonder box office sales are in a slump. - astrotrain, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Just the name alone 'Michael Bay' gives this movie a thumbs down.
- glucoseboy, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5On a related note: I love the url. "geeks of doom" is awesome. I'll have to check out their other posts.
- vsaint, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3The movie I'm looking forward to the most this summer is Knocked Up. Judd Apatow has a comedic midas touch, and so do his favorite actors. A large number of actors from his previous endeavors are in Knocked Up, it shows a lot of promise.
- astrotrain, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Right there with Mariah Carey's Glitter 2... right next to the bird cage dividers at the local pet shop.
- okmon, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Kindly ignore all prior comments. Just go out right now and see Hot Fuzz, unless you don't like walking out of the theater with your stomach hurting from excessive laughter. The lady in front of me was laughing so hard, she hardly noticed the popcorn that I kept spewing right into her hair.
- Caleb83, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3There's no drought, there's just hollywood, the uninspired and unoriginal mass-moneymaker, and then indie films which have to be more creative because they can't spend 300 mil on special effects and expect it to be a blockbuster
- Emilio8605, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I was born mid/late 80's ('86), and I know Nancy Drew. That person probably thinks nobody's heard of Goosebumps either.
- scheibs14, on 10/12/2007, -4/+7http://www.duggmirror.com/movies/Summer_07_Movie_Mayhem/
- Eliza101, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Yeah, I was a huge Nancy Drew fan when I was a kid. I was born in the late 80's, too.
If they screw up the story, I'll be reeeeeeally pissed. - tjolson, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I think most geek-folk would argue for Harry Potter.
- 07734HELLO, on 10/12/2007, -5/+8Personally, I could care less for any of the sequels and remakes, except 28 Weeks and Resident Evil. Otherwise, I'm looking forward to Day Watch, Bloodhunter, and Stardust. So for those of you keeping count, that's Anglo zombies, Slavic zombies hunter, Russian vampires, Chinese vampires hunter, and Neil Gaiman. Around the world in 80 death sequences! HA!
- Caleb83, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Day Watch may suck because of botched subtitles? If they are going to bother to release it in the US, they're going to give it a good set of subs. Plus Fox partially financed the movie, I figure they would want English subs, not Engrish ones.
- Shmeevan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I suppose a few of those are almost mandatory, being the 3rd movies in a series and all.
- geniusNOTatWORK, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2day watch is ***** amazing! I cannot wait to see it in theaters :D
- Cornedbeef, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Looking forward for Spiderman, Harry Potter, The Pirates of the Caribbean, Shrek and a few others to come out on DVD.
- LatvianHedgehog, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I'm actually surprised it took so long to release this film worldwide - i watched it year ago.
- vinchBR, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2i would watch most of those movies =)
- Odweaver, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The zombies in 28 days later qualify as zombies in AFMBE
- Calypsoaf, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/en/f/f3/Re-alice.jpg
No further explanation necessary. - therealgano, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Looks like there's a big zombie and undead trend this Summer... Excellent.
