"Why would the film be cammed when the high quality version was going to be released for free online in such a short period of time anyway? This is just for joke’s sake, as the film is indeed titled “steal this film.” Regardless, I will be waiting for the official release, as I want to enjoy watching the film in quality and supporting free releases."
i agree... it's just a publicity stunt... of course... but yeah, kinda funny in an ironic sort of way, i guess... - DiggityDugged, on 11/14/2007, -2/+32Torrent Freak might as well have an auto Digg button :)
- look4alec, on 11/14/2007, -0/+25I smell a viral marketing campaign here
- CasinoJack, on 11/14/2007, -4/+15Dugg for delicious irony
- jeremyduffy, on 11/14/2007, -2/+11Did anyone else notice that if you're reading fast, STFII looks a lot like STFU?
- pictureDIGGER, on 11/14/2007, -1/+8They got one viewer out of me. Viral campaign or not. Am I a sheep now?
- griz, on 11/14/2007, -0/+7"Most importantly, STFII shows us that filesharing is here to stay, it is a part of our lives and will shape our future."
File sharing for free and legal content is just a good idea all around. I torrent open source apps all the time. However, if people think that trading will ever become accepted by the content owners, they have their head up their butt. Content owners will always believe that sharing will cost them money. - sickswaystop, on 11/14/2007, -0/+6oh well, whos a leak gunna hurt?
- Jerky1312, on 11/14/2007, -0/+6Yup, seems like a publicity stunt for the official release.
- ccheath, on 11/15/2007, -0/+5also consider the source... it's being seeded on TPB by kopimi

- taintedzodiac, on 11/14/2007, -1/+5It's a plant, people. If you honestly believe that they didn't put it out there themselves, I've got a bridge in Brooklyn that's for sale.
- Audacitor, on 11/14/2007, -0/+4Smart Digg Button for Firefox. Auto digg buttons for everyone!
- ChayD, on 11/14/2007, -0/+3How much for the bridge? Do you ship overseas, or do I have to arrange collection?
- t2t2, on 11/14/2007, -2/+5baaa
If you understood it, yes. - sroop, on 11/14/2007, -0/+3...and it sounds a lot like STFU (acronym-wise)
- taintedzodiac, on 11/15/2007, -0/+3Unfortunately, since the bridge has been deemed critical to US infrastructure, overseas shipping is currently deemed a terrorist action.
- def1234, on 11/14/2007, -0/+3it's not ironic if you know it's going to get stolen
- rgodfrey, on 11/14/2007, -1/+3That which is appropriate is not ironic.
- missingnoh4x, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2It's a pretty brilliant viral marketing campaign though. Drives the point of the documentary home.
- derder89, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2Ironic? Don't you mean coincidental? It would be Ironic if the film could never be leaked onto the internet or stolen.
- dude187, on 11/14/2007, -0/+2You missed the point completely. The point is that we have the technology to freely copy information at no cost to anybody and that technology isn't going to be uninvented anytime soon. If the luddites that are the content industry keep pushing more and more DMCA like legislation then all it will do is further criminalize their customers as well as alienate them. Information wants to be free and now it is, trying to outlaw the progress of technology for the business interests of a few didn't work for the textile workers in the 19th century and it sure as hell won't work now.
- miyamotofreak, on 11/15/2007, -0/+1I agreed. I watched half of the first one, and it was such BS.
- hawridger, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1So very poetic.
- QuickeningYak, on 11/14/2007, -1/+2mandatory irony.
- jclutch79, on 11/14/2007, -0/+1definitely a planned leak. now let's hear more about this bridge sale.
- ccheath, on 11/14/2007, -2/+3It's ironic because they're gonna give it away anyways... it can't be stolen
- def1234, on 11/14/2007, -1/+1who has two thumbs and looks like an *****? THIS guy
- ePlus, on 11/14/2007, -1/+1You can't really say that it has been leaked.... Really, who are they fooling?
- TjLAXattack, on 11/14/2007, -2/+1Viral marketing stunt? Either way, probably won't watch this movie.
- sporg, on 11/14/2007, -5/+4That Torrent doesnt sound like tasty warez to me. Sounds like a waste of bandwidth.
- BlackJackJester, on 11/14/2007, -4/+2dugg for "haxxoring your ip and sue your asses off"
- Lowfront, on 11/14/2007, -6/+4I'll steal this film
