(Sorry. Couldn't resist.) - jeremyfohferemy, on 12/20/2007, -1/+55why do they explain what star wars is but not what baroque is?
- statiktv, on 12/20/2007, -0/+26why is luke a short fat dandy?
- MindTrigger, on 12/20/2007, -2/+25Interesting question. However, the answer to "what is baroque?" is that it was a period in art/music that spanned about 1600-1750AD where people were trying all kinds of new and weird stuff. Baroque means "Bizarre". There is some great classical music from that time period that can actually help order your mind, improve memory and learning.
- NicksVideo, on 12/20/2007, -1/+18All three parts:
http://starwarsblog.wordpress.com/2007/12/06/baroq ... - screaminbrains, on 12/20/2007, -0/+15weird but not even half as cool as the steampunk stuff.
http://ericpoulton.blogspot.com/search/label/steam ... - MalTheObscure, on 12/20/2007, -1/+15Hate to be a snob, but that has nothing to do with Baroque style.
- elknino, on 12/20/2007, -2/+12i think i have found a new reason to kill myself.
- MusicalGenius, on 12/20/2007, -2/+11Am I the only person who thinks that most of those were poorly made.
- thegoodsteer, on 12/20/2007, -0/+7I only agree half-wittingly, because these pictures aren't what I would classify as "baroque" in the first place
- rswelling, on 12/20/2007, -0/+6Chewie really got shafted...
- MacEnvy, on 12/20/2007, -0/+6Luke *is* a pussy. So was his father.
- mrjit, on 12/20/2007, -2/+6Just think of crazy French art, with tons of squiggly lines and random floral trappings all over people.
- sharkd, on 12/20/2007, -0/+4Buried for Blogspam that posts someone else's work without attribution.
- oojamaflip2006, on 12/20/2007, -0/+3He's pretty much a short fat dandy in the films too, so why not?
- cowboy86, on 12/20/2007, -1/+4Yea, they make him look like a pussy.
- Kajico, on 12/20/2007, -10/+13If it's not baroque, don't fix it.
- CaptainM4d, on 12/20/2007, -0/+3This is too silly.
- dvance, on 12/20/2007, -0/+3Was anybody else reminded of Howl's Moving Castle, or Miyazaki in general?
- DataLifePlus, on 12/20/2007, -0/+3Lame. I thought it was going to be Baroque style paintings.
- Magesmaximus, on 12/20/2007, -0/+3I'm offended
- thegoodsteer, on 12/20/2007, -2/+5Exactly
- neseus, on 12/20/2007, -1/+4ditto that.

- jts10, on 12/20/2007, -0/+1I think the original artist might be this guy:

http://www.mattiasadolfsson.se/ - Rev0lver, on 12/20/2007, -3/+4That was quite the knee slapper.
- ImYourRealDad, on 12/20/2007, -0/+1Baroque emphasized seriousness and detail and emotions in the scene. Also it was a 17th century movement, and the style in those pictures fits a more Victorian/Early Colonial set up.
Art student ftw. - Ghoztt, on 12/20/2007, -2/+3That baroque Imperial Walker is really creative.
- drknownothing, on 12/20/2007, -3/+4Interesting.
- TinyGuest, on 12/20/2007, -0/+1Luke looks like that probably because of the time period Baroque is from.
- honorableSimon, on 12/20/2007, -0/+1Between the Millenium Falcon in Part 3 and the unstretched version of Jabba in Part 2 this seems like a better link except that everything's not right there for you. Thanks for posting it! (Dugg, obviously)
- solidus636, on 12/20/2007, -0/+1Ahh, whenever I hear the word 'baroque', it reminds me of my Jabba the Hutt looking teacher for World History.
- radink360, on 12/20/2007, -0/+1Cool images but why does R2D2 look like a stubby penis?
- dragon76, on 12/22/2007, -0/+1It would have ben more interesting if it had REALLY been baroque. It's actually a gothic take on baroque. The illustration style is gothic.
- mojotooth, on 12/20/2007, -2/+3I want my thirty seconds back
- vote4me, on 12/20/2007, -0/+1I was expecting a baroque version of Williams soundtrack.... damn you
- loganarcher, on 12/20/2007, -0/+1I've often day dreamed about a space opera with baroque elements and motifs to it...
- Elranzer, on 12/20/2007, -0/+1A blog plagiarizing another blog? Say it ain't so! But it is. Real link:
http://mattiasa.blogspot.com/2007/12/star-wars-bar ... - onionoino, on 12/20/2007, -0/+1because R2 D2 sort of resembles a stubby penis? though if you're looking for phallic imagery here then go with a lightsaber.
I see your shwartz is as big as mine! - OwdenBowden, on 12/20/2007, -0/+1Someone has WAY TOO much time on their hands - but nice job.
- djrocksteady, on 12/21/2007, -0/+1Actually, these sketches don't really represent the baroque period that well. The Baroque period was all about drama, tension and and movement, with high contrast between light and dark colors. These sketches (while nice) have very little to do with the baroque period.
- danc4498, on 12/20/2007, -0/+1Could have done without the intro to the article. I'm pretty sure everybody in the world knows what Star Wars is...
- onionoino, on 12/20/2007, -0/+1well, that was disappointing
i call rape - s0ldad0, on 12/20/2007, -0/+1Many Baroquens gave their lives to smuggle these plans....
- bgfinkel, on 12/20/2007, -1/+1brilliant
