- shauncullen, on 10/18/2008, -0/+228 ***** PAGES! My mouse has a scroll wheel and I want to use it.
- Shaggy3, on 10/18/2008, -3/+25Knowing just about nothing about Star Trek.. I am very excited to see this.
- RobotBuddha, on 10/18/2008, -0/+15I like the clothing choices. Up with mini-skirts!
- Garmonbozzia, on 10/18/2008, -0/+15The visuals look impressive. I only hope they have a solid script and have the good sense not to screw over what might be the most devoted fanbase ever.
- Sornos, on 10/18/2008, -0/+14Personally I think the Borg are the greatest villain in the Trek universe (that is, pre-Queen Borg). The Borg were unstoppable. Ruthless. Merciless. Alien. They couldn't be stopped by shooting them. They couldn't be negotiated with. They will always be stronger. True resourcefulness is required to not defeat them but delay them.
My personal dream for a future Trek movie in the traditional canon would be a return to the classic invading unstoppable Borg. Maybe bring in Species 8472. - GorfTron, on 10/18/2008, -0/+13Resistance is futile.
- etx313, on 10/18/2008, -4/+13Set phasers to FUN!
- jessehadden, on 10/18/2008, -0/+9Very excited. But FTA:
"Abrams made his perspective clear: 'We weren't making a movie for fans of Star Trek,' he said. 'We were making a movie for fans of movies.'"
I think that's what the director of every single Star Trek movie has ever said. I think Star Trek is the only franchise out there that has gotten where it is by consistently ignoring its fanbase. - RobotBuddha, on 10/18/2008, -2/+10Please no borg, please no borg, please no borg.....
- WoundedCow, on 10/18/2008, -3/+10I'm very surprised they haven't called me for my opinion. They must not realize how good of a writer I am, nor do they know how much I know about Star Trek. If this movie sucks, don't start blaming me.
- DaFunk, on 10/18/2008, -1/+8I consider myself a huge Trekker, but I have no problem with this "reboot." Why? Because I don't want Star Trek to end. It's been on a downward spiral since midway through Voyager and if something big doesn't happen, the only thing we'll have are reruns. I'm sure I'll shake my head a few times during the movie as some of the missed details rub my inner "comic book guy" the wrong way, but if it means there's a chance of more movies and maybe even more TV series, I'll be happy to live with some inconsistencies.
I'd rather Trek be updated and some of the original cannon be lost if it means there will be more Trek in the future. - IllBeBack, on 10/18/2008, -2/+9Yes, if it could not suck like Star Wars Episodes I to III and then that awful Clone Wars piece of *****, it would be AWESOME!
- IllBeBack, on 10/18/2008, -0/+6"Downmodded"
So where does THAT term come from? Certainly not the site you are currently on. - shauncullen, on 10/18/2008, -1/+7WELLLLLLLLLLSHHHHYYYYYYYYYYYYY!
- jusgreat, on 10/18/2008, -0/+5This statement scares me.
Plus, at heart, Abrams is still more of a Star Wars guy. ''All my smart friends liked Star Trek,'' he says. ''I preferred a more visceral experience.''

- RobotBuddha, on 10/18/2008, -0/+5@Sornos
I'm in total agreement on how great the borg are. That's why I'm always sad to see them come up again. Voyager had some really good moments with them, enough that I'm willing to forgive it somewhat dulling their teeth. But enterprise was just depressing with them. I really, really, don't want one of the best things to come out of trek turned into a powerless mascot that's always getting defeated. - aethelberga, on 10/18/2008, -0/+5FTA:
"As embodied by the short-lived late-'60s TV series, ...the Trek brand has devolved into a near-irrelevant cultural joke."
Now they're belittling TOS in order to tell me how cool this new movie (about TOS) is going to be? - Owwmykneecap, on 10/18/2008, -0/+5Ugh...this is who this movie is for and why we will all hate it.
- RobotBuddha, on 10/18/2008, -0/+5I know! I was waiting for you to be mentioned as well.
- SergeantSavage, on 10/18/2008, -2/+6anyone else see a flying saucer with an eyeball on it in that picture?
- TonyCubed, on 10/18/2008, -0/+4@Akairenn
I think Season 4 and onwards in Voyager was alright, better compared to the 3 previous seasons. But I do agree that Star Trek reached a great peak with DS9, the show as a whole I thought was perfect; great story lines, characters and so on.
Enterprise I thought was an alright show, but they ***** up when they started messing with the timeline. - leonardutah, on 10/18/2008, -0/+4There are seven more pages. You have to click next at the bottom.
- romeyinfc, on 10/18/2008, -0/+4As long as they keep Rick Berman as far away as possible, there's a good chance it will be
- futureisours, on 10/18/2008, -0/+3What's with all these 20-somethings running the Enterprise? Yeah right. Picard, heck even the original Kirk were more realistic captains than someone who looks barely out of high school.
- gradivus, on 10/18/2008, -0/+3Financially it was good, as a movie it was just another Bay movie with guest stars The Transformers.
Good movie>>>>>>>>>>box office take - inactive, on 10/18/2008, -0/+3***** Red squad had to go ***** everything up and blow up the Valiant...
- Lazydriver, on 10/18/2008, -0/+3Even the actor who played Wes hated Wes.
- rheaume, on 10/18/2008, -0/+3A screencap from the Star Trek reboot film? Chris Pine is the guy on the left here:

He plays Kirk. - seantubridy, on 10/18/2008, -0/+3"USS Apple store"
Genius. - wilf_brim, on 10/18/2008, -2/+5Given Abrams recent efforts, I am very worried that this is going to be an EPIC FAIL.
- Owwmykneecap, on 10/18/2008, -1/+4Star Trek is dead.
A shame, I think it, with the right care and guidance, could have been revived.
Sure there may be sequels to this or spin off shows but fundamentally it is not star trek.
P.s. I was shocked when Simon Pegg signed for this, I mean the man who showed the world how much he HATES episode 1 in his brilliant sitcom Spaced....
He's the only hope for this not sucking royally, pity J.J. Abrams is involved... - bradtothebone, on 10/18/2008, -0/+3It's a bunch of kids and a few adults playing "captain" on a starship.
- dmanmax99, on 10/18/2008, -5/+8I really hope Welshy makes an appearance.
- inactive, on 10/18/2008, -2/+5Can't F'n WAIT!
- raydeen, on 10/18/2008, -0/+2Transformers was great fun. SW 1-3 were nauseating. The only things I liked about those movies were Kwi Gon and Obi Wan.
- inactive, on 10/18/2008, -4/+6Oh man this is gonna suck.
- RobotBuddha, on 10/18/2008, -1/+3He's too busy making shellfish-core hiphop with Mc Frontalot.
- mishaco, on 10/18/2008, -0/+2can't not wait .
- kraetos, on 10/18/2008, -0/+2It's an antimatter-powered Apple Store.
- Wilddigi, on 10/18/2008, -0/+2Kirk is military
- RobotBuddha, on 10/18/2008, -1/+3Wait, was transformers a failure? I mean financially, not as a quality movie. I thought it was OK as a summer blockbuster type thing even if disappointing from what I'd hoped it'd be.
- Sornos, on 10/18/2008, -0/+2Second. I'd love to see more Trek because there will always be a chance for some great new material. In Voyager, which I personally liked, there were some great episodes (Year of Hell comes to mind) even if the others aren't always so good. We'll always have our memories of the classics and they can't be spoiled by new material.
- bradtothebone, on 10/18/2008, -0/+2This no where near matches the anticipation and excitement that ensued before the theatrical release of Dark Knight.
- DeFex, on 10/18/2008, -0/+2Massive fail for that site having some pages with only 2 or 3 paragraphs. I did read the whole thing though. Im pathetic.
- Philbert, on 10/18/2008, -0/+2"The series subverted America's cynical Cold War culture with its rich vision of a peaceful future and a weird, wonderful universe worthy of joint exploration."
A future where Caucasians and African American's can kiss each other? It'll never happen. - Owwmykneecap, on 10/18/2008, -0/+2The people who made the last Movie weren't fans of star trek.
look what happened. - TonyCubed, on 10/18/2008, -0/+2'Inside Scoop' wasn't good enough for you?
- DracoFlameus, on 10/18/2008, -0/+2me too, and this one:
Abrams made his perspective clear: ''We weren't making a movie for fans of Star Trek,'' he said. ''We were making a movie for fans of movies.''
http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20233502_4,00.html
Both statements tell me that he rather wants a superficial space action teen movie than anything else. -
