- isunktheship, on 10/08/2008, -0/+7I hear he works for a fraction of pay.
- davidlow, on 10/08/2008, -1/+6Dreamworks SKG = Spielberg, Katzenberg & Geffen = powerhouse
- montanask8, on 10/08/2008, -0/+5Well I had the honor to know Mr Geffen as my mother worked for him at Geffen records before it was MCA. He is a great man and I wish him the best.
- Mackofalltrades, on 10/08/2008, -1/+6People still pay for porn?

Actually money is after that failed bailout we just had. - Treshnell, on 10/08/2008, -1/+4If only someone could invent a method to turn human fat into a combustible motor fuel...

- J4k3, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1So what happens to Transformers 2? I hope it'll be as awesome as the first one (with ray-tracing and all).
- Mackofalltrades, on 10/08/2008, -1/+2Last minute edit I see.
- dougbot, on 07/14/2009, -0/+1sorry, simpsons reference on account this source does not look reliable, just as todd thought bart was not a reliable source about him smelling.
- exspasticcomics, on 10/09/2008, -0/+1huh?
farming technology? -we milk a mean cow?
finance services... um... after that 700 billion dollar bailout.. there are no more financial services in this country- we have no credit.
I haven't seen any machinery in years that has 'made in the USA' written anywhere on it. it all comes from china & Taiwan.
beer? Anheuser-Busch is in the process of being bought out by Inbev (they're foreign..)
cigs- you got me on.. they're made in the good ole USA (last I checked..).. of course.. you can't smoke them anywhere anymore...
ignorance is everywhere...
cars- the most American made vehicle is Toyota (most of the parts come from the US or Mexico..) ford & others are mostly made from foreign parts & more & more- assembled in foreign countries (which is why all those car factories are closing down bub..)
"Do you actually think countries like china and india will provide better entertainment then we do?"
asking Quality is just asking one man's opinion... QUANTITY is what I'm talking about here. with more & more kids (& adults..) watching anime & reading manga comicbooks & playing nintendo.. I feel perfectly safe saying that the Entertainment industry may very well be moving out of this country & into other places in this world (currently-more Japan maybe -than China or India..)
... you seem to be assuming that a guy from India can't be as creative as a guy from America. Creativity has nothing to do with race, skin color, location or government. given the time/energy & budget.. I'm sure that there's someone out there in (say..) Pakistan- that has the ability to make a movie just as good as (...if not better than) 'Indiana Jones & the Crystal Skull.' (for example..)
all I'm saying, healthyapples- is that everything you said is wrong (LOL) & the American people are becoming boring & complacent & China is a developing country. - chillo, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1Regardless, so many Hollywood legends are getting old and it saddens me.
- exspasticcomics, on 10/09/2008, -0/+1LOL... okay.. you got me...
- santaliqueur, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1What movie was that again?
- LilRabbitFooFoo, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1If you subtract the K...
- digidelia, on 10/08/2008, -1/+2we already knew that
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1I never liked Geffen. Too purple. I preferred Al De Baran.
- ATLien74, on 10/08/2008, -1/+2The porn industry in Hollywood is infinite.... INFINITE I TELL YOU!!!
- LilRabbitFooFoo, on 10/08/2008, -0/+1It's about time. The worst thing Steven ever did was leave Universal to create Dreamworks with that hack Jeffrey. Katzenberg has lost billions now and deprived the world of one of its great talents.
- exspasticcomics, on 10/07/2008, -6/+6entertainment is the western world's biggest export. with the economy the way it is & the music/ movie market the way it is... it just makes me wonder how many major studios are going to be bought up by foreign investors. (i.e. owned by places other than America & Europe..) the more interesting question is... when the entertainment industry finally leaves the rocky shores of the United States.. What will we export? People don't even buy cars from us anymore... Iggy Pop suggested our biggest export will soon be porn.. I offer fast food franchises as an addition to that list.
- gnotDigger, on 10/08/2008, -1/+1in related news, other old rich guys that haven't made a noteworthy movie in years do not get article written about them and posted on digg.
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -4/+3"entertainment is the western world's biggest export."
not really. I'd put farming technology, finance services, machinery, beer, cigs, and ignorance ahead of entertainment.
"People don't even buy cars from us anymore"
actually ford sells a lot of units in europe, more then honda and others.
"when the entertainment industry finally leaves the rocky shores of the United States"
I don't think it will. Do you actually think countries like china and india will provide better entertainment then we do? These are countries who turn people into engineers, doctors, and accountants not actors with a creative side that was honed by attending improv class rather then studying all night for an exam.
allz im saying is everything you've said is wrong and Chinese people are boring. - dougbot, on 07/14/2009, -3/+2TODD SMELLS.
- isunktheship, on 10/08/2008, -3/+1I feel like I've heard this already...
maybe it was just the insider scoop.
and lol at the ms-paint imagesmithing, love it! - mattmacneil, on 10/08/2008, -2/+0But what about the re-re-re-release of The Emperor Strikes Back?!
- Asianwaste, on 10/08/2008, -5/+1No. But it's has to be at least 60 of the 99 billion.
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -12/+1David Geffen is a homosexual pedophile.
- inactive, on 10/08/2008, -13/+1I hear Spielberg likes to takes shots of hot man cum to the throat
