- AwesomeMonster, on 10/12/2007, -8/+111***** 3 villians. Just make a movie about carnage.
- APHughes, on 10/12/2007, -2/+43They have already set up The Lizard and they should capitalize on him while bringing back Venom. Save Carnage for the 5th film and have Carnage kill Gwen like in the Ultimate Universe. Then in the 6th bring back Norman, just like in the comics, to finish off the franchise.
- revenge7, on 10/12/2007, -18/+44WHAT ABOUT THE RIDDLER?!
- viewdrix, on 10/12/2007, -2/+28If there's no Bruce Campbell as Mysterio, then there is no God.
- Gundabad, on 10/12/2007, -1/+19I think Sandman and Venom both suffered greatly from not being the sole villain of the movie. I hope the Lizard is in the 4th, and is the only villain or new character
- pixelate, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16Carnage in a PG-13 movie is a waste of everyone's time. I hope this never happens.
- Gigabutt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14man, i thought peter parker's "evil hair" would make a come back!
- pinkSocks, on 10/12/2007, -2/+16I agree. Carnage is absolutely insane, and if he's going to be in a Spider Man movie at all, I wouldn't want to be too distracted by other villains. But I hope it would be in a later part of the series, as I wouldn't want two movies in a row starring the symbiotes to water down the effect.
- Charlotte_Web, on 10/12/2007, -3/+16I saw Spider-Man 3 yesterday.
I think it's time for Sam Raimi to move on.
I don't care what villains they feature, as long as they have a new director with some fresh ideas. - venom8599, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11Maybe MJ will. She gets fired from the jazz club and her career continues to crash and burn, so she turns to stripping to help make ends meet.
*snaps out of it* - Araxen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10One Villain per movie please. Haven't they learned from other superhero movies?
- teamparadox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8I dont agree, I have Spiderman 2099 #1 and a few other issues and it was just kinda boring.
- kingkilr, on 10/12/2007, -4/+12The new bad guys are the butler and Aunt May, they are the only characters left therefore they have to be the bad guys.
- sunshinemonster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9The Rhino blows, he's a complete idiot, it even says it on the wikipedia link. All he does is run around and smash things and then Spider-man easily defeats him by making him angry and lead him into danger (i.e. electricity, cliff, etc.,) that is not compelling. Now, he would be a cool mini-villain that Spider-man has to fight in the middle of the film to add action scenes or an extra villian that is the lackey of the main villain (can we say, Mysterio?) It would be neat to see a giant guy running around smashing things for bits and pieces of the film, but the whole movie? No thanks.
- johnhummel, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Amen! I loved the idea someone came up with, that his previous cameos are a setup for him "researching the roles". And a movie with Campbell as a bad guy who gets to smack Toby around? Sheer beauty.

[spoilers]
venom has "died" before. besides, since when does an explosion fully vaporize a human being? the same type of explosion that at point blank range only "mildly" disfigured harry? this is a comic book movie... if they want to bring someone back, they can write in a way to make it happen. personally i think they should have devoted the movie solely to the symbiote/ venom/ eddie brock rivalry [and maybe harry, if they didnt kill him off in the end too] and left the sandman/ ben parker retcon/ half-assed gwen stacy deal out of it.
oh yeah, and less closeups of grown men whimpering... definitely! - Bartboy919, on 10/12/2007, -5/+12what about mysterio? He's like the best!
- cozinator, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Ben Kingsley as the Vulture.
- halosniper7, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6like i said. Dr. connor still has the sample of black *****. this *may* lead to carnage.
- RabidFurby, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5-Hydro-man
"He was transformed into a being of pigmented water, able to control his own liquid body."
Replication of Sandman anybody? For pure similarities it's also not likely he will be the next villain.
-Carnage
-"A combination of Venom symbiote and the serial killer and former cell mate of Eddie Brock, Cletus Kasady"
It's not likely it will be Carnage, since Eddie Brock was a young punk in Spiderman 3 and didn't have the vibe/aura of ever being in prison, plus the ending(not what you think or maybe I'm psyching you?).
All others are pretty much fair game. I would think Electro, The Lizard, or Mysterio. No matter who's chosen, they have many interesting villains to explore.
Also, lets hope Tobey will continue with the series, though, for some reason I think he will disband from the cast. - sunshinemonster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5sorry, but i'm afraid that's just kind of lame.
- chuckpenzone, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6Here's an idea - wait 10 years to make the next film and change the tone of them so they are less campy than they have been. I'm tired of Peter's crappy apartment... doesn't Peter Parker eventually become a scientist? They've got to put some distance between these 3 and whatever they do next.
I personally could care less if Tobey McGuire or Kirsten Dunst return. I saw the 3rd last night and while there was some good stuff, there was a lot of bad - on 3 occasions the audience was laughing at the film not with it. How great would it have been to have a building storyline around Norman Oswald with a culmination in the 3rd movie... can't anyone write enough script to make that happen over 3 movies.
There are certain rules I have for a super-hero film and one of them is NOT killing off the main bad guy. Just don't do it. The audience will maintain an emotional grudge against the bad guy and become way more involved with the story. - stratdog25, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Lizard is definately set up for the next movie, as is Electro (sitting behind peter in his science class - check out the looks on the 2 adjacent students when he "shocks" peter before Gwen Stacey's answer to the physics question, followed by the Asian guy shining the mirror at him.
Also, Flash Thompson played a credited role, but un-noticed... wonder if something might be afoot... maybe introducing Ned Leeds and the Hobgoblin??? or if theyre bringing in Black Cat, maybe Jason Phillip Macendale/Jack-o-Lantern??? - robbh66, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5@Derelict267
I agree, but we are talking about Hollywood. Money = who cares about the story as far as they're concerned. Plus the professor still has a small sample of the symbiote.
Anyways, if they do Spiderman 4 within the next few years it will be a catastrophe. They really need to wait before doing another one. - MackPrime, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Ultimate Rhino would be the only Rhino suit that'd look cool on film. I'd like to see Scorpion in this more than anything, just so J.J has more screen time.
- teamparadox, on 10/12/2007, -1/+6I think Venom should be the least villain because your right he did suffer...the goofy look didnt help either. Then at the end Lizard should come about with kind of a cliffhanger ending.
- moogle516, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5 "FreezeDriedMovies claims that The Lizard, Carnage, and Black Cat will be featured in the upcoming fourth film."
Stop Cluster ***** movies with Villians it ruins a movie. Unless you can devote 3 hours to the movie. - choopie911, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5terrible?
- BevansDesign, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Honestly, I think it'd be cool to see Spidey go up against the Kingpin. Sure, he was in the Daredevil movie, but that doesn't mean he can't be in a Spider Man movie too (actually, legally, I think it does). It'd be great if they could get Michael Clarke Duncan again.
And by "up against the Kingpin", I mean eventually. He'd have to put together an awesome collection of supervillains to throw against Spidey, which would mean that they could get a whole bunch of cool B-list villains like Rhino and Scorpion into the movie (who wouldn't be all that interesting on their own). - XxFinalexX, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Lizard + Carnage Obv~
I hope its more on the Lizard though. - giddytonk, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5How about a little Kraven mixed in with some Punisher
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Carnage + Toxin plz.
- eightyd, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6I think it would be nice if the next spiderman movie DIDN'T TELL US WHO THE VILLAIN WAS AHEAD OF TIME! All three have shown us the origins/identities of the villains. Perhaps Sam Raimi thinks people are too dumb to figure things out on their own, but I would be delighted if there was a plot twist! What a concept! Those nerds among us (I) should know the identities of the villains, but it would sure be great of Raimi didn't hold our hands through the explanation of every motivation/feeling that the villains have. I'd love it if we had no idea who carnage was (only hints), while we watched him sautee gwen stacy's eyeballs. Let us figure stuff out with Peter Parker!
- ArtMonkeyWorld, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Bruce Campbell should be either Mysterio, and tap into all of his movie cliches, or the Chameleon. If he played the latter, it would explain how he has been in every movie, playing a different character. They are all the same guy, planning the ultimate heist! lol : )
- moogle516, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Spiderman 2099 would seriously tank at the box office, was that guy on acid when he wrote that article?
- SevanElevan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5The villains will be the writers and directors of Spiderman 3.
They already made him cry like a bitch in 3. - pixelatedcrap, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Doppelgänger!
- LogicBomB, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3You guys are dreaming if you think they'll give a cash-crop like Spider-Man an R rating. Just because YOU think carnage needs to rip people's chests open in a giant gore-fest does not mean they will actually do that by any means.
If anything, if they need to show carnage as more-than-evil they'll do "implied violence". You'll see carnage walk towards someone, attack him perhaps off-camera or even just fade to black and then you'll hear people reading the news saying things like "Did you hear about so and so? Ripped apart, only identified by dental records... barely".
You'll never get your R rating for this film and as far as venom goes in Spidy 3... totally disapointing. He gets like 5 minutes of actual screen time and then they blow him up before showing ANYTHING worth talking about. Very disapointing... - quomen, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6That would be awesome if they set up a marvel civil war type thing..but im just dreaming.
- Kiwibomb, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4They best way to put carnage in the series is if they made the movie rated R. Carnage is to hardcore to just put in as pg 13. I so hope they put carnage in but it would depress me if they made him lame.
- ZachRocksYou, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3If they were going to have Carnage, it would not work unless the film wound up with an R rating. Carnage made the harshest criminals cry, so the audience would need to see this.
Blood and gore galore! - duniyadnd, on 10/12/2007, -9/+12Kirsten Dunst stripping?? please God no!!!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4He just has to jump out of the ***** mirror, what a retard...
- mastersquirrel3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3No it is not the best Trilogy ever star wars is. By the way did you even see the 3rd one?
- yankeesfan53, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5[sarcasm]Well....Why don't we just have the Sinister Six?[/sarcasm]
Listen....The reason this movie tanked (review-wise) is because everyone knew too many villains and story lines would kill the movie. But everyone also went out thinking either 1. It wouldn't or 2. It would. BOTH set you up for disappointment!
This is what should happen: Since Eddie Brock JR was in SM3, they are going down the Ultimate Spiderman path. That means that the Lizard man will Definitely be in it. And Carnage will be formed from the symbiote sample and Spiderman. If they AREN'T going down Ultimate, then they will mix it with Cletus Kasady definitely.
Venom will probably be back IF they put Scorpion in it, considering Scorpion IS Venom right now. Although, Scorpion by himself would be good.
Everyone forgets Kraven, who would be AWESOME if they used The Last Hunt storyline. Also, Mysterio would be sweet to do with Bruce Campbell.
Based on reports and movie scenes, there are two "probable" villains. 1. Before Venom, there was talks of using The Vulture with Ben Kingsley. Also, in Spiderman 2, J. Jonah. Jameson's son, John Jameson, STILL has not become Man-Wolf. That, on top of Dr. Connors, makes any upcoming Spiderman movie promising at least!
(Sorry for length, but I decided to put all the stuff on the table.) - synaesthesia, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4I dont care who the villain is as long as we get more cool dance scenes
- geoffreyireland, on 10/12/2007, -1/+4Carnage would just be amazing.
Best. Villain. Ever? - mastersquirrel3, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3NO ***** MORE SIDE VILLAINS!
- NeoCortex, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Bring Venom back as a vigilante who is also going up against Lizard. I always liked "not-completely-evil" Venom.
- Derelict267, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4@apoc06
No, if you looked closely Eddie's body was vaporized and you see a skeleton, then dust. Much like the bombs that the green goblin used on the board members in the first movie. -
