- cozinator, on 10/12/2007, -1/+98Spider Man 3 is gonna be sweet, but why does every trailer have to give away the entire plotline these days? It's a trend that's been getting worse over the years, but this seems like the worst offender yet - I feel like I just saw a three minute condensed version of the movie.
- xtmno3, on 10/12/2007, -3/+79Because movies these days can be summarized and shown in under 5 minutes without missing anything important.

Seriously...it would be nice to have SOME surprises when I lay down my ten bucks at the theater. - Radan, on 10/12/2007, -5/+28Wow, now that's a good way to spoil a movie. That was like showing the scene where Vader tells Luke that he is his father in the trailer for The Empire Strikes Back.

- Kriff, on 10/12/2007, -0/+19I'd rather just see a movie all about Venom and Carnage. I hope Venom is more than just a character that rises at the end of the movie.
- robshoy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+18I want to love this, I really do, but it looks a bit too good to be true. Anyone remember how awesome the X-Men 3 trailers looked? How cool Angel looked? Then remember what happened?
I really hope this is as kick-ass as it looks. - MackPrime, on 10/12/2007, -0/+15see all that black webbing ? He's around for a bit.
- woojoo, on 10/12/2007, -2/+17Is it me or does the part with Peter and the ring look familiar...? Maybe some other movie concerning a ring...and a hobbit...?
- Bartboy919, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Im afraid they may make this movie very long, or not long enough. There is now way they can fit three villains in one movie without making that movie 2+ hours. I also want to see Lizard as a villain.

That's how we get rid of you too. - ryansebiz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Venom image:

-How the symbiote gets onto Spidey.
-How the symbiote gets off of him and onto Brock.
-Fights between Spidey/Venom and Spidey/Goblin. - chrismartens26, on 10/12/2007, -5/+15Hands down going to be the best one in the series
- KnytFyre, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10It's a comic book movie, being done in the style of the comic book. If spidey is know for anything other than his powers, it's his witty banter with the villains. In a world where almost all superheros throw quick quips at their opponents, Spidey is recognized for being king of the one liners.
- hipnerd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9The story isn't about the villains at all. It's about Peter and who he becomes. I have faith in Sam Raimi's ability to tell that story well.
- SummersEve, on 10/12/2007, -10/+19***** Amazing
- crazyspaceman, on 10/12/2007, -0/+9Yeah what ever happened to long haired, busty MJ we know and love from the comics? I am also still skeptical topher can pull off Brock and Venom.
- andrewcod, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Other trailer + teaser trailer:
http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony_pictures/spider-man_3/ - Radan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8@gnawph2:
Check at about 01:45 in the trailer. Spidey throws a grenade at Harry which explodes like two decimeters from his face. - theblindman2, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I dunno, I think that they made Doc Ock a lot more fleshy than he was in the comics or series... which is saying something, i wanted those damn arms to win some of the time...
PS. I don't care what you say, Kirsten Dunst has always looked funny to me, they dress her in clothes I wouldn't picture MJ wearing (i.e. Big lumpy sweaters and khakis), honestly, wasn't this chick a super-model in almost all of the comics? - Cwolf267, on 10/12/2007, -0/+7I think he's talking about the part where Harry is sitting on the floor while something explodes
- x0nIMIn0x, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8I once read somewhere that David Geffen pioneered the form for trailers that we now think of as common. He said something like, "show them some of the beginning of the film, some of the middle, and some of the end, and I guarantee you'll put asses in seats."
It was thought of as blasphemy at the time to give so much away in a preview, but Geffen's insight was validated by increased box office returns for films advertised in this way. Now the form is almost universal in the movie business.
If you check out the trailers on DVDs of films from the mid-eighties and earlier, it's remarkable how different the pitch used to be. - falloutsyndrome, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7saw this before i saw 300. Made me feel giddy ;)
- Asianwaste, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I think Sam Raimi wanted to create the image of regular people doing super natural things. I don't think Kirsten Dunst is all that good looking myself, but she does have that "down-to-earth" look about her.
- jiggawoot, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5This is going to be a damn long movie if they want to fit in the stories about all 3 villains. Not to forget throwing in Peter and MJ's evolving relationship too.
Either way, it looks freakin sweet. - Asianwaste, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Anyone remember that movie Arlington Road? The trailers for that movie pretty much gave away the ending. Also a better example Terminator 2. If you really think back early into the movie all the way until the scene at the mall hallway where John Connor was in between the Ahnold and Robert Patrick. Had the trailers not reveal that Ahnold was a reprogrammed T800, everyone would have just assumed he was the bad guy until he says "Get Down!"
Had the movie's secrecy been kept, I think the first time seeing T2 would have been twice as better of an experience. - jmajcan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4@x0nIMIn0x
This is definitely the thinking of people in Hollywood today. Robert Zemeckis (directed Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, Cast Away, etc.) said:
"We know from studying the marketing of movies, people really want to know exactly every thing that they are going to see before they go see the movie. It's just one of those things. To me, being a movie lover and film student and a film scholar and a director, I don't. What I relate it to is McDonald's. The reason McDonald's is a tremendous success is that you don't have any surprises. You know exactly what it is going to taste like. Everybody knows the menu."

Not coincidentally, the trailer for Cast Away gave away the fact that he got off of the island in the end. Kind of a shame. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I'm with you guys on this one. I've also noticed that when I want to see a good movie, and I've heard good things about it, etc., stuff like that, that I'll actually stop watching the preview perhaps like 5 seconds in.
- Asianwaste, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3I think Sandman will be not so developed as he probably indisputably a bad guy and is most likely to die. Harry might be one of those gray areas. Venom I think will be another obstacle throughout the movie but will survive this movie for another round in the next one. All and all I think Sam Raimi can pull it off.
- KnytFyre, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Hate to be the geek on this, but it's not a grenade, it's a pumpkin bomb, in the previous trailer you see Harry through it at Pete from behind. Spider sense goes off, Pete catches it, spins around, and throws it back at the thrower. And yeah, Harry survives the explosion. Harry may want to kill Pete, but he wants to do it slow, to enjoy it, to make Pete suffer the way Harry suffered from the loss of his father, so the force of the explosion was not enough to kill an enhanced person.
- Timelord1969, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2For any of you poor souls who havent watched the 7 minute clip of the movie in HD.

There is a lot to be said about look REAL, and not fake, like the majority of actresses. I prefer the more "down to earth" looking women. My name is not Ken, and I am definitely not looking for a Barbie. - Chompy, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The trailer looked good but I think we had ample warning that it was going to suck simply because they chose the Rat to direct it.
- almightyzam, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This movie is going to kick ass...I just hope Venom is portrayed really well, and doesn't just make a brief appearance...and maybe comes back in the next movies.
Also, didn't Tobey McGuire say this was his last spiderman movie? If so, who would play spiderman? Tobey is the perfect fit (imo) and the first time I saw him in the first spiderman, I was thinking "That's exactly what I thought he looked like". - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3Once again hollywood gives away the ENTIRE movie in the trailer, I cannot imagine going to it now and being surprised by anything that happens.
- WTFsrsly, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is the first spidey 3 trailer that makes the movie look like it has some style imho, first one that gets me excited. I liked the two others though so it'll probably rock.

- hipnerd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Sandman in the comics is much more complex than that. He isn't that bad a guy. Heck, he was even a reserve Avenger for a while. I think Venom will "die," but it's pretty hard to indisputably kill him.
- walkea1, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2man what happened to gwen stacey? has she been cut out of the movie? not complaining if she has though, due to the thousand other plot points that need to be covered.
- dilibau, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4THE TRAILER BASICALLY TELLS THE WHOLE STORY OF SPIDEY NO 3...BUT I STILL WANNA SEE IT (AGREED GAMEMASTER) ;)
- gamemaster357, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3its great that you guys are complaining that the trailer gives away everything in the movie...
but we're all going to go see it anyway.... - AndromedaAHS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Looks SOOOOOO good - counting the days!
- rubenz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Could someone please link to a direct download of the 480p version? My QuickTime Alternative (K-Lite Mega Codec Pack 1.67) won't correctly open the .qtl files for some reason.
