Singleton Wants Woody Harrelson in 'The A-Team' Movie

cinematical.com — Director John Singleton said "I don't know who is in the cast yet...but I do know that the only person I want right now is, that I really, really want is Woody Harrelson to play Murdock – the guy who is crazy but he's kind of real smart, a jack of all trades. That's the only person I really, really want."

What was great about Schultz was that he was just over the top enough without being overbearing. Carrey is completely incapable of doing that in what is essentially a comedic role. By far the best suggestion I've heard so far is Jack Black - watch High Fidelity for how good a comic relief he is.

      Hrm, I just fact-checked that statement, and it appears that Dennis Hopper is actually 71. Therefore, Hopkins is the 2nd baddest ass 70 year old I can think of... in any case, I'll take either him or Hopper for Hannibal.

  • saranagati, on 01/14/2008, -0/+1Harilson would be great for murdoch since I don't remember murdoch being all that energetic, at least no where near as much as jim carey plays parts. He was more of just someone who would antagonize BA and cause shenanigans. Christian Bale would probable be great for the faceman (think american psycho), and if they don't use Mr. T again as BA, then maybe the rock. Some comments are mentioning ice cube to play the role, but I don't think he's a big enough guy to reprise that role. For hannibal, I have no idea, jack nicholas would be great if he was a little younger (he still may be able to pull it off though) and sean connerry would be good if he didn't have the accent. I'd hate to see clooney reprise that role since i really don't like the guy, but i think he may be the best for that part.

    And yes i do realize i misspelled everyones names.

      None of them was really good, although I have to admit, that Starky & Hutch worked well as a comedy and buddy movie, but not as a remake.

    Face is can be played by dozens of actors.
    Clooney is the ONLY that should play Hannibal.

  • defektiv, on 01/14/2008, -0/+1i don't know. when i read the headline i immediately thought 'Murdoch' although it's hard to place him in any other role on that team. he does seem to be quite a perfect fit. Murdoch had that kind of vague recollection of sense that Harrelson is usually typecast into.
