- qwerty1024, on 10/10/2007, -2/+52With this money Rupert Murdoch will finally be able to block out the sun and make us pay for it.
- elnerdo, on 10/10/2007, -0/+41With Fox, EVERYTHING is a terrorist attack.
- archer104, on 10/10/2007, -14/+46Hmmm...what would Homer do with $70 million dollars...?
Homer: Hi Lenny, notice anything different?
Lenny: Hey! You're covered in gold!
Homer: 14 CARAT!!
*Giant Homer covered in gold and jewels towers over Springfield while laughing like an evil villain* - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -2/+31I like men now!
- holycrapitsed, on 10/10/2007, -5/+29I thank Bart's penis for this glorious news.
- bruinexmo, on 10/10/2007, -5/+27"Rocked" the box office? An "explosive" launch? It's a movie, not a terrorist attack.
- motionblur, on 10/10/2007, -3/+20I'm not surprised. Last time I checked, the movie had an 89% critic rating and a 91% user rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
- CaptainNoPants, on 10/10/2007, -3/+19they owe you nothing
- jcmad5, on 10/10/2007, -0/+16should we kiss to break the tension?

- SkippyDoorknob, on 10/10/2007, -10/+25Can he swing from a web?
No he can't
He's just a pig - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+14What could they possible owe you? They have given you countless hours of entertainment for free. If anything, YOU owe THEM!

..made in 1995 - inactive, on 10/10/2007, -4/+12Yeah combine a name like The Simpsons plus it actually being a good movie = huge opening weekend.
- lasermic, on 10/10/2007, -1/+9Then we will fight in the shade
- elnerdo, on 10/10/2007, -3/+10Really? It was EXACTLY what I expected it to be.
What I want to know is: What the hell were you expecting? A drama? - blahtastic, on 10/10/2007, -4/+11No just. The song is only around 20 freaking seconds, how many times can it possibly be misquoted?
Spider pig, Spider pig, does whatever a spider pig does. Can he swing from a web? No he can't, he's a pig. LOOKOUT! Here comes the Spider pig. - LonesomeFighter, on 10/10/2007, -1/+7is it really a surprise The Simpsons movie made lots of money? They have been in the making for 18 years.
- mattmcm, on 10/10/2007, -1/+6I ought to club you and eat your bones.
- deetank, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5People sang in my theater too.
- tvgm2, on 10/10/2007, -0/+5And yet you've dugg this story...
- blahtastic, on 10/10/2007, -2/+7You can't count Treehouse of Horrors when you're examining the amount of reality in Simpsons episodes.
- mrminty, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Don't worry, I don't think it will carry on to the show. It was just a joke.
- mrminty, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4Are you kidding me? The Family Guy movie SUCKED hard. All of the jokes were forgettable and lame, the dialog was weak, the plot was dumb, there was nothing good about it.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4I guess you didn't RTFA then!
- tomi, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4You fail at reading.
- dbug, on 10/10/2007, -0/+4No.
- awa1ct, on 10/10/2007, -4/+7I didn't know the weekend was over yet?
- foofightrs777, on 10/10/2007, -1/+4C. Monty Burns would be proud.
- dillibob, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2he was when he chose the random plans
- jstohler, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2The title and the article were dead-on: $72 million for the weekend.
- delusionz, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2.....and your a douchebag.
- edein, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2use reply button... stop messing with my curiosity.
- dpcdomino, on 10/10/2007, -1/+3Simpsons already did that.
- bIuebonics, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2o_O
- nickerbocker, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2How many times have Lenny and Carl been killed in various episodes? Of course those were Halloween episodes.
- spyrochaete, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Closer to 70 minutes. It was shorter than a Pixar movie.
- SkippyDoorknob, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2Considering only the first and last lines are used in the commercials, it's pretty easy to not remember the middle part exactly after only one viewing.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2"The only reason Fox is still around is the Simpsons."
Try a little film called Star Wars and you'll be a bit closer to the truth! - piratetelecast, on 10/10/2007, -0/+2I agree with you on this one. I saw it purely out of curiosity . . . I could have been outside at least. The movie was so stupid.
- nickerbocker, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1The only reason Fox is still around is the Simpsons.
- kevinlyfellow, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1I agree. Seemed like they were more concerned about making everyone shocked than making good jokes (seriously, did we really need to see a ten year old's package???). I also felt that some of the animation sucked (such as characters walking) which made it painfully obvious that computer animation was used to it's fullest extent. Don't get me wrong, I like computer animations, but only when it's done right. Moreover, the mixture of humor and drama was discordant.
I think everyone likes and laughs at this movie out of either obligation or crowd mentality. While the movie had a few good laughs, there are better things to watch in the theaters right now. - tomi, on 10/10/2007, -3/+4mVs has the part of the bottom cut off.
- inactive, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1AT least spell th right. You're the douchebag!
- LegendarySock, on 10/10/2007, -3/+4NOOOOOOOOOOOO! Bitch! You bitch!
/overdone.
By the way, The Simpsons Movie kicked ass, worth every cent. Watch it if you haven't. - spyrochaete, on 10/10/2007, -0/+1Mr. Bergstrom and guatamalan insanity peppers ftw.
- piratetelecast, on 10/10/2007, -2/+3I'm with you on the stupid factor. I could care less if I get dug down for my integrity. The cell shaded scenes had an odd effect, sort of making the series like something on nickelodeon. I was one of the people who didn't laugh in the theatre as well. There were mostly children and teenagers there who thought it was hilarious though.
The Family Guy and South Park movies were way better.
I feel kind dirty after watching that movie . . . . - bIuebonics, on 10/10/2007, -1/+2of course he dugg it, he really loved the movie but he's 13 (look at his avatar) so he has to go against the grain. should have heard him in the theatre, he laughs like an ass...
