Its still the highlight of my Sundays after all these years and the reruns (since there are so many) are great. Hopefully this movie will rock and the Simpsons will go out with a bang, and then we will be left with Crappy ass shows like "War at Home" or something....At least there will still be Family Guy ....maybe Futurama.

The way to make it awesome is to bring back all the good writers on the show (Conan O' Brien especially).

As far as killing ht eseries, it isn't going to happen, and thank god. If you think The Simpsons is bad..then you must not watch ANY TV.
And those that say the Family Guy isbetter...please...don't procreate. I want to live in a society where people have good taste in TV and know that humor is not just cramming 20 minutes full of completely random pop culture references like aVH-1 show.
That being said, this movie is going to be stupid. There is no reason to do a sit-com movie. All it becomes is a 3 or 4 part episode all put into one. I'm really hoping this film will be great.

The Family Guy movie was funny, but there was no real plot to it, it seemed like just watching multiple episodes puttogether without commercials.

I'm hoping for good things from the movie because the rumor is that it's going to be headed by all the old writers and show runners, and be more representitive of pre-scully simpsons. - pinnette, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2This is of course not an April Fool's joke. This has been announced for quite a while and I believe the voice actors have actually been signed for 3 movies. I saw somewhere down the list that the show is setup through '08 but I think it is actually through '09. They definately need fresh jokes and there is a simple way this could be accomplished. My hope is that w/the movie the family will actually begin to age. This would bring on a whole new series of experiences to be illustrated for the Simpson clan. I am a die-hard Simpsons fan, and while I will agree that the last few seasons have been going downhill, the past couple episodes this season have been fairly clever. People may think that this movie is coming out too late to be relevent, but I have faith that Fox and the creators of the show will enlist great writers such as Ricky Gervais, and others to come up with a great storyline. If it does indeed suck I will be disappointed, but it's been on the slate for such a long time they might as well try it and see what will happen. Maybe Conan will come back to write some scenes, who knows.
