- lordsandwich, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Will Duchovny be able to make time in his busy schedule for another X-Files movie?
- Designhaus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1"... to Begin filming?"
What? There's no freakin' script. Rob Bowman (director) has been talking about this 'next' film for seven years as if it were gonna happen tomorrow. Of course Gillian Anderson and David Duchovny are down with it, why wouldn't they be? Unfortunately it's up to Fox movie studios and X-Files is old news. Besides neither Fox or Scully have super powers or large breasts.
No digg. There's no reason to just plain outright lie in the headline to get attention. - Rounin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1That Lone Gunmen mini-series was frackin hilarious. Too bad they killed it after one season.
- Friedle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1You guys actually read the article? There's no script yet.
It ain't happening for a long time yet. - beatmenace, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I'm VERY excited about this....been waiting a long time. I went back this year and watched the entire X-Files series again, and I must say that it is just as good now as it was then. Chris Carter is a genius...
- minerva43, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1SQUEAL!
How can you say you want closure? Did you WATCH a single episode of the X-Files? If you're a fan, you wouldn't even entertain a thought of this movie actually having a real ending. We've experienced nine seasons without a real damn ending. That's like saying you want a Python sketch to make perfect sense. Screw closure, bring on the movie. - Friedle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0David said he was always willing to do another movie.
- PGvildys, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1@lordsandwich
/sarcasm tags implied, I'm sure ;) - DaviDK, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1C-L-O-S-U-R-E, please repeat clo-sure, closure.
Let's finish this once and for all, and let's answer all unanswered questions.
+1 digg - DFrag, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Oh Yeah....
Maybe the lone gunmen will make an appearance after their 'death'. - LuckyJack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Stand alone"
That reeeeeeaaaly worries me. Stand alone doesn't lend itself to closure.
Oh well, will be fun to have one more, either way. - tobsterius, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0It's interesting to note that Rob Bowman does not have an X-Files sequel listed on his IMDB page. Neither does Gillian Anderson, or David Duchovny.
- cheesetoe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I've been waiting sooooo long for this announcement!
- Dhalgren, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"That Lone Gunmen mini-series was frackin hilarious. Too bad they killed it after one season."
One season? did they even finish a whole season? - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1For god's sake CLOSURE NOW!!!! and right on with this digg.
- Kamael, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0A closure wouldn't fit in one movie alone...
- grendel, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0yes.
this is news.
this is good news. - Stopher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The article says there's not even a script written. This thing could be 10 years away if it happens.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"hells yeah"
- iceflatline, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0agree with daviDK... closure, we need CLOSURE.
- jocknerd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'd be happy with the season series on DVD costing a reasonable price.
- ImaFraud, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I agree with Rounin, they should resurrect the Lone Gunmen. They should have never killed them off.
- serra, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I can't wait until this comes out, aaaaah. /geek
- chosenone-, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Hello X-Files producers, please close the odd ends with amazing craftmanship. Do it properly, think it over. *****, take some psychedelics if you must. Give the fans what they want. I was thoroughly interested in some of the episodes (haven't seen THAT many). And do listen to the community. ^^ good points.
Need help? Send me an e-mail! :D - ejfisher, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"As for which series storyline the sequel might focus on, Bowman says, "The only thing I know is it will be a stand alone story. That's what I was told. It won't be tied into the X-Files mythology."
SO IN OTHER WORDS...NO CLOSURE. NO Digg. This sucks. Think people. - sych0, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0x files rules. bring it on
- mezziah, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0There will not be any closure regardless. If you read the article and have been following the news from Chris Carter and other stories, it says that this X-Files movie will be a "standalone" flick. That means the normal mythology will not be in this one. Talk about a ripoff. I don't know about you all, but those retarded episode interludes with zombies, cults, and other useless season-fillers only took away from the overall experience of watching the show. I liked it for the underlying plot that kept it going into the eventual movie. And to make one that has nothing to do with the actual series and more to do with making a quick buck only offends me. I will surely bootleg this movie [if/when] it comes out if there is such a plot. Chris Carter can lick my ass.
- ArcaneDevice, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0let it die, please. Carter already killed the series long ago with his convoluted conspiracy plot. Don't let another movie destroy the remaining good memories just to rake in some cash.
- nagle, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0This story is LAME and MISLEADING.
As Digg member Friedle pointed out in the comments, the article says that Bowman's hopes are high that a sequel will begin production soon. No script. No deal. No actors. Just hope. Bowman, whose claim to fame since the X-Files was put to rest has been the dismal Elektra, hopes that an X-Files sequel goes forward? That's news?
Fraud stories with "top news" aspirations like this one are exactly what is wrong with Digg. The fact that this made the front page helps discredit Digg as a legitimate news source. - dominiccarr, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I look forward to seeing it.
- skippy2057, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Old and busted, and I agree with motionblur on jumping the shark.
- nomore, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0About time we get a decent movie come out... commercial media has been downhill since the 90's
- raven4, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0cannot wait!
- DFrag, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I met one of the Lone Gunmen at this years comic-con. I told him how said I was that they killed them off. His response was, "It's the X-files, they never showed the bodies".....
/hope they aren't dead. loved those guys. - motionblur, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0The X-Files jumped the shark after season 5. WTF were they thinking in the last two seasons?
Gillian was the real star of the show. She p0wned Duchovny in every scene. - Apparatus, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0My friend is going to freak out about this, he's the biggest X-Files fan I know!
I can't wait either, I thought the first film was great. - G-Force, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0wow a new x-files movie sweet.
I wondered how long it would take Dave and Gill to run out of money. lol - liquidice, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0x-files has been dead since the last movie, just leave it be.
- Magistrate, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0What would be the point of closure? That would mean a death sentence for The X-Files. I was a huge fan, an I know that I'm pumped for a sequel, and if it means there will never be anything X-Files ever again, I'd rather there not be a sequel. I love how the story never ends.

What is Digg?
