-had to say it ;) - manvsmonster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0But what the ***** about Indiana Jones 4!!!
- skippy2057, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Dunno about Sir Sean being "One the greatest actors of our time" (and I am a Scot), but he surely had a great screen presence, and certainly carried the early Bond movies. He reminds me a bit of John Wayne, who basically played "John Wayne" in all his movies, just as Sir Sean pretty much played "Sean Connery" in all his movies. Nothing wrong with that; that's what folk wanted to see most of the time and more often than not it worked within the context of each movie. Just sayin'
- Jozone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0BUT WILL HE STILL BE ON SNL JEOPARDY?!?!?!
- ksgant, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0He doesn't need to be in Indy 4 you know. He wasn't in Indy 1 and 2. Indy 3 included him because he plot included him as the Grail expert.
They can easily make Indy 4 without him. - eclectro, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Craig Ferguson on the Late Late show does a dead-on ringer impression of Sean Connery. I'm sure he will do a skit around this this week.
He is the funniest person on Late Night TV IMHO. - Twelve-60, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Now the box office records will be even lower! :( - mousky, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0dhughes: Why call Connery a nut for his support of making Scotland a separate country? You do realize that Scotland was a separate kingdom in the past.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"But what the ***** about Indiana Jones 4!!!"
- "It looks as though Connery would be returning as Professor Henry Jones Sr. in Indiana Jones 4 as many fans had hoped." - Lyphen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I'd be glad if he wasn't in Indy 4. He totaly pussy-whipped Indy in The Last Crusade and ruined Harrison's character. (Well, it's Lucas' fault and not Ford's, but I would rather him not have been there).
- sneakerelph, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0yeah, i hope ferguson does something on this. i think he's funnier then... dare i say it... jay leno!
RUFF, just the way your mother likes it trebek! - ozjmu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0direct link:
http://scotlandonsunday.scotsman.com/entertainment.cfm?id=1707662005 - PrometheuZ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Forget about Sean Connery, it's about time we get another mob flick with Joe Pesci...badda-bing!
- BT-Wang, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Conan and Ferguson are both amazing I'd say they're above letterman but apart from that I agree with motionblur.
leno.. with his stupid chin and not strikingly well thought out pseudo-jokes. - tahuya_rat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0^ You mean, stand in front of a camera and recite lines? Jesus, I like the guy as an actor, but come on.
- vdub12, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0ksgant: He is Indy's dad. From what I here his part is really really important in #4. I heard without him there wouldn't even make it.
And to all the people that said hes not that great of a loss. Theres not an actor that ever was or ever will be again that can do what hes been able to do. - notkevinrose, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Letterman > Conan > Former TechTV hosts > Ferguson > Anyone > *random G4 host* > Daly > Leno
- crazyfan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Well yeah, seems lost that he would do it.
But Never Say Never :) - heavyness, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0congrats on everything he has ever done, he will be missed on the silver screen.
- Pile, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Sean Connery" is to "greatest actor of all time"
as
a) "Kenny G" is to "rock and roll"
b) "pap smear" is to "gourmet cuisine"
c) "average digg user demographic" is to "parent's basement"
d) All of the above - jks52086, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Ferguson is a joke. Craig Kilborn was great, though. Too bad he left. But no way is Ferguson better than Letterman. And Conan beat Ferguson any day. I'll give it to him - Fergie is better than Carson Daly.
- PrometheuZ, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Connery? Too old to matter anymore in Hollywood...has been! He's in the Paul Newman club...reduced to selling spaghetti sauce and salad dressing.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0A connery post without mention of Time Bandits and League? Blasphemy!
haha - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Stearns, nice jacket. by the way, do they make it for men?
:-o) - motionblur, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Letterman > Ferguson > Conan > Daly > *random G4 host* > Leno
- manvsmonster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"But what the ***** about Indiana Jones 4!!!"

Yeah, I wasn't sure about that part of the article because of the odd grammar. Would? I figured that was messed up, and couldn't be sure of which way it could really be going.
All his movies that stunk or were uninteresting or cheesy for the past little bit are trivial when it comes to Indy 4. There's people who split hairs or perceive movies incorrectly.
The simple point is: those movies be classics. His face is engraved in that iconic imagery of the saga. Him not being in it is a major disappointment, if that's how it turns out. Because, "Oh I'm calling it quits," and that's why we adhere to the ideas behind storytelling to excuse the change. But the sucker ain't dead, he should be in it, or I'll punch him in his head where his pathetic ingrown ideas dwell... I think it's great that a man of his stature in the business said what he said, but that's ***** and narrow to be the justification for leaving. He didn't do anything about it. Just did Finding Gay Forrester and The League... then sat there. Then quit. - ti22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Sean Connery was the only James Bond. I cant belive it.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO"
~Darth Vader, Episode III - teknurd, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0A sad day for Money Penney ;-(
- dhughes, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0mousky: Well that's not really what I meant, but what would be the point? It's 402 years too late, and Scotland joined England, sort of, in bits and pieces over the years. It's not like it happened on one day.
- matriculated, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"I'll take 'The rapists' for 100, Alex."
"That's Therapists, Mr. Connery." - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Boy that guy is REALLY old he must be enjoying his money, maybe he is dying too and want to do it in peace or enjoy the rest of his life.
- ajb2015, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Too bad no indy 4 :(
- recover82, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0dammit logal. you beat me to it. :)
ytmnd.com - mbrewthx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0How wierd as I'm diggin this I'm watching "The name of Rose" one of Mr. Connery's finest works.
- SlashNot, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0good actor, watchi entrapment right now. O well hes old. no big deal
- blijack, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Connery's back as Bond this October.
He's going to be in the next 007 videogame - From Russia With Love. - littleone, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Connery is a wise, wise man. Hollywood sucks.
- manvsmonster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Aren't we all spectacular pieces of technology? With buttholes?
We could always form a massive online suicide group, threatening to take our lives if he doesn't finish his career with Indiana Jones 4. You know... Nikes and stuff.
I'd say that's pretty much mafia-type pressure that he referred to. Or... well there's also beating him. That's mafia-like. - bndocksnt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0was sean an android or something? aren't dig stories alleged to have something to do with technology? perhaps they are planning to cryogenically freeze his head for a time when he can return to acting thanks to medical advances? i dugg it anyway ;)
- mwilke, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I will definately miss Sean Connery from the silver screen.
- manvsmonster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Oh yeah, and... quitter!
- vanlandw, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0we have the new EA bond game to look forward too...."The Rock" is a kick ass movie ;-)
- MrCodeDude, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0[W]hor[e], like your mother Trebek, Semen.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Who cares, Connery has made his millions and deserves to retire with all that cash and the credit he deserves as a respected "actor". Best of luck, Sean and I hope you get to relax -- you earned it.
- AliFireCat, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0*chink, shatter, cries*
That is the sound of my heart breaking. He may be an old man, but I adore Sean Connery. His voice is THE sexiest in the world (in my opinion of course).
And as for Indiana Jones 4, I read about Harrison Ford doing it, but nothing daying that Connery would be as well.
*sigh* cest la vie.
_alli - Rock_bollocks, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Whoever thinks that the Connery won't be tempted out of retirement by Indy 4 (if they even want him in it) are sadly deceiving themselves.
Also, so what if he's sick of Hollywood studios what about the independent filmmakers. He could get a bunch of independent flicks green lit by agreeing to be in them or he just try and recapture his youth and go into porn movies. - movieguyjon, on 04/03/2009, -0/+0who the hell is sean connery?
[/sarcasm] - crazyfan, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Yeah, its really a shame. I agree with Sean about Hollywood. A lot of them are just looking for cash cows instead of making art.
