- geoman2k, on 11/05/2009, -0/+1I was psyched about the new V, but I thought the pilot was retarded... it was like they were trying to pack way too much crap into one episode. i think they could have stretched the revelations from the first episode over the course of the entire first season, adding in some actually interesting characters (most of the characters are boring, obvious and are played by calvin klien models) and it would have been a pretty sweet show.
the way they did it, the packed all of the interesting revelations into the first episode and now they are just going to do 12 episodes of filler crap to play out the rest of the season. bleh.
i don't know... maybe it will get better. maybe i've got high standards because i just read Childhood's End by Arthur C Clarke and it was a similar concept but a million times cooler... - TwwIX, on 11/05/2009, -1/+2That's a rather ***** list.
The X-Files - Most of the show was about it. How the ***** do you not put this on your list?
They Live - Invasion by Corporate/Advertising Aliens. It has one of the best fight/brawl scenes in film history.
The Thing - Got its invasion delayed by freezing its ass off. Another classic Carpenter film.
Men in Black - Not really an invasion but i am sure that they dealt with one at some point followed by an obligatory "Aww, Hell no!"
Plan 9 from Outer Space - It's hilariously bad but a legendary classic.
