Especially if you liked Empire Strikes Back. - datagod, on 10/22/2009, -2/+27I have a magazine from 1980 (kept it from when I was a kid) that talked of 3 prequels, as well as 3 sequels. This was before Empire was even released!! I have long waited for the first three movies (greatly disappointed, but perhaps that is because of the 15+ year wait) but still have hope for the next three!!!! YEEHAAA!!!! Can't wait to see a 50 year old MILF-Leia !!!!

- inactive, on 10/22/2009, -0/+8Interestingly, when Phantom Menace was released on VHS, there was a short interview with George Lucas at the beginning as an extra feature. In it, he said that he had never planned for sequels to follow Return of the Jedi and he didn't know how that rumor got started. I saw this interview with my own eyes and was surprised because I'd always heard the same thing you did about it.

Since then I've watched every other installment with increasing levels of indifference. I'm ready for new icons and stories and characters. Sometimes a saga - even a good one - needs to be over.
- hauntedchippy, on 10/22/2009, -0/+7Guys, he almost single handedly destroyed Star Wars with his ***** prequels. The guy can't write dialogue or characters for ***** anymore. One of the reasons the original trilogy was excellent was because that Lucas did not have 100% control and script writers leaning on his every word. He had talent like Alec Guinness to keep him on track (who do you think came up with the idea to have Vader kill Kenobi?).
Lucas has soiled this masterpiece by trying remake it completely by himself. The mythos has been bastardised by *****. The characters have turned into wooden planks with bad accents. Do I even need to mention jar jar or r2's rocket pack? Terrible movies.
The best new Star Wars material has come from only that which George has not touched. The old republic games and comics, even cartoon networks' short clones wars series was vastly superior to the remake George inevitably did.

Absolutely no annoying characters aimed at getting children to watch the movie.
Try to separate the new trilogy from the original trilogy. Make it a continuation, but not pre-prequels.
Have a story which fits the original trilogy in the feel. If trying to put it along side the original trilogy's timeline try to have consistency.
...3D Okay cool...don't do anything gimmicky don't have scenes intentionally to make use of it. Make it completely natural.
