José Gonzalez playing "Heatbeats" (by The Knife), for all those not in Europe or otherwise aquainted. - feedscott, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1LOL
- FlyingAvatar, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Pretty cool. Though in some shots, some of the ball counts do appear "enhanced" with extra CGed balls.
- philovivero, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I hope it's not off-topic, but it's interesting how companies seem to use a brand new codec every new video they make. Yet again, MPlayer on Linux segfaults on this bizarro video codec. Was standard QuickTime not good enough? I wish media companies would settle on a standard and just use it.
I guess I should say something on-topic.
It's interesting to talk to geeks that do stunts like this. There are a lot of details to be worked out, and it's great to see some intelligence and perseverence put toward it.
I have a geek friend who's putting on an SF Hallowe'en party tomorrow night, and we must have spent about 30 minutes talking about the engineering challenge of simply hanging a parachute and a few hundred pounds of Christmas lights up in his warehouse loft.
The simplest things turned out hard. The cable structure used to hold it was under too much inward pressure from the stretched parachute pulling on it, and pulled a 1.5" steel bolt out of the wall. Later on a 1/4" S-hook got pulled straight from the strength of the parachute.
I'm sure this film was presented with several such logistical difficulties. And yeh, I'd love to hear about how it got cleaned up. - tibe, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1as 'znutz' (lol) said... there is a zipped copy still up at:

- jgpmom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That was an awsome comercial. My little girl made me play it over and over again,,,and ya know what?,,,I didn't mind a bit....but those balls are dangerous you know,,,some of the smaller ones can be swallowed by young children...be careful little ones.
- drakino, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0"Was standard QuickTime not good enough?"
There is no standard QuickTime codec. Quicktime is a wrapper around video data that will tell the player what codec it is, how long it is, and what resolution. H.264 is a codec used in this video, and is supported by QuickTime 7 among other players.
MPEG 4, Sorenson, H.263, and MPEG 2. Those are four other codecs supported in a QuickTime wrapper, and many more can be used. Just as many different kinds of video can be in an AVI container, or a RAM container... - republicoftexas, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Is is just me, or was anyone else expecting porn?
LOL! - atmoosh, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Wow! And that music is perfect! Who is it and where can I get it.
Sony and Apple should be working together since they have such a similar approach to style.

Anyway, please note that the internet is not entirely american, and *some* people, like me, in England (like English, you know?), which is in Europe, actually spell colour like so. Because the advert might be european, you know? - bastawhiz, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I wonder if Kevin or Alex were there...
- audiopro, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Anyone have the link to the still photos? I think they were a Flickr Gallery, but I cant seem to find them.
Also, the "Making of Movie" has some serious issues with interlacing.

- Korivak, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Silly Americans, always leaving the 'u' out of words like colour, honour and armour.
