- filmbandit, on 06/27/2008, -0/+16stop motion by ray harryhausen vs. CGI = the old man sweeps up
- warlokaz2004, on 06/27/2008, -0/+9Somewhere in twisted studio logic this is due to the success of 300.
That said I actually did dig Clash of the Titans...but I was 10 years old. - SkippyDoorknob, on 06/27/2008, -0/+9Release the Kraken!!!

- filmbandit, on 06/27/2008, -0/+6boo -- introducing ray harryhausen
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ray_Harryhausen - bloodomen13, on 06/27/2008, -1/+7Good god stop ruining my childhood!!!!! Let me at least keep the nostalgia!
- MadOgre, on 06/27/2008, -0/+5If you don't have Laurence Olivier playing Zeus, you have nothing.
- CaptainEO, on 06/27/2008, -0/+5This just in? They've been out of ideas for the last 10 years!
- filmbandit, on 06/27/2008, -0/+5filmmakers have the ideas -- the studios just don't have the courage. hollywood's been in a franchize-potential spiral since empire strikes back
- peestandingup, on 06/27/2008, -1/+5I swear to God, just LAST NIGHT I watched this & asked my GF the same question wondering why Hollywood hasn't been all over this for a remake.
Anyways, I think this could be great if its done right. The original was awesome, but lets just say the effects haven't stood the test of time. Yikes! - basevillin, on 06/28/2008, -0/+4I remember my 6th grade teacher showed us this in class with the heads up: "This movie has some... revealing... scenes."
I looked at my buddy and joked what it could be, maybe some boobs.
Clash of the TITans indeed. - calon9, on 06/27/2008, -1/+5George Lucas will crash through a window swinging in on a whip and join their production meeting. He will stop them from going forward on a crappy story. He will help them add a CGI owl and monsters, add a son for Perseus, an awesome sprinkle of alien subplot and a touching wedding scene.
So you can breathe easy that this remake won't suck.
And Lucas will swing out into the sunset, swinging from production meeting to production meeting, hoping to one day set right all of Hollywood... - warlokaz2004, on 06/27/2008, -0/+4It was Pegasus..
- inactive, on 06/27/2008, -1/+4There was nudity in the 1981 version and it got a PG rating.
- inactive, on 06/27/2008, -1/+4Angelina Jolie as Medusa + Sex Scene = Could be a winner, amiright?
- IamZed, on 06/28/2008, -0/+3Screw the clockwork bird, we'll finally get to see Medusa's nipples!
- inactive, on 06/28/2008, -0/+2I always loved Clash of the Titans as a kid but it was the Seventh Voyage of Sinbad that was my personal favorite, seeing the cyclops roast those guys on a spit freaked me out.
- ganymede2010, on 06/27/2008, -1/+3Clash of the Titans was a remarkable movie. Truly ahead of it's time. Seeing the bestiary from that movie done with modern day CGI should breathtaking. And yes, Kasdan is a legend, he directed the best SCI-FI movie of all time ESB:)
- Foenetik, on 06/27/2008, -0/+2haha I think you overlooked the stipulation where it should be good :p
- ShugNinx21, on 06/28/2008, -0/+2The Empire Strikes Back was directed by Irvin Kershner, not Lawrence Kasdan. He was however the guy who co wrote the screenplay of ESB with Leigh Brackett.
- ShugNinx21, on 06/28/2008, -0/+2Clash of the Titans is an awesome flick, and for that very reason there is no need for them to remake it.
- n3tfury, on 06/27/2008, -1/+3hollywood has run out of ideas.
- ganymede2010, on 06/28/2008, -0/+2Splendid Idea!
- Zanarkand, on 06/28/2008, -0/+1I loved this movie...maybe a remake of this movie can bring some hope for a remake of the NES game "Battle of Olympus"....one can only hope.
- antonio97b, on 06/28/2008, -0/+1"I named the dog C3PO, Junior!"
- crispynoodle, on 06/27/2008, -3/+4"It's written with a solid R rating in mind with nudity, sex and lots of gore-rific ugly deaths"
Geesh, this was a family film, if they need this to get it any attention it probably means it sucks already. - ijacker, on 06/28/2008, -0/+1no, icarus ftw
- samoscratch, on 06/27/2008, -1/+2Can't wait until they ***** this up
- TheSiren, on 06/27/2008, -0/+1budgetary issues? how authentic.
- blackjack75, on 06/28/2008, -0/+1.. Zack Mc?
(to understand both of these you have to be pretty old) - inactive, on 06/28/2008, -0/+1Not sure they ran out of ideas, there are plenty of unique and talented scripts floating around, it is just Hollywood is too scared to take a gamble as nowadays it is testosterone-filled teenage boys who pack the theaters.
- inactive, on 06/28/2008, -1/+2I heard Nanci Pelosi will be playing Medusa in this one.
- RobotCitizen, on 06/28/2008, -0/+1Beowulf?
- inactive, on 06/28/2008, -0/+1said Montgomery Zeus Burns
- lhbaker, on 02/23/2009, -0/+1Ann Coulter?
- kingygk, on 06/27/2008, -2/+2Lawrence Kasdan must be hard up for work. He directed Star Wars The Empire Strikes Back!!!
http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0001410/ - filmbandit, on 06/27/2008, -1/+1okay we'll give you something new -- how bout a national treasure 3?
- Isomer, on 07/14/2008, -0/+0Do a Google search for "Clash of th Titans Remake Appeal" and you'll find a video that promotes the hope that the new Titans will have stop motion animated effects like the original. The advancement of stop motion techniques that could be used to make this film have never been used for a production like this in the modern age. It would be essentially the same technique that Harryhausen used, only with newer tools for shooting it and newer materials and techniques for puppet making. The combination of these new tools would blow the doors off anything movie goers have ever experienced on the screen... along with the attraction of the audience knowing that they are seeing the works of real world artists utilizing their natural talents and skills.
The original Clash of the Titans was as much about Perseus and Medusa as it was about Ray Harryhausen and his mastery of hand crafted effects and animation. To remake this film without honoring Mr.Harryhausen by advancing the art he made famous would be nothing less than an insult
Audiences have been treated to noting but huge video game looking films for more than a decade, it's time to bring the artists back to the stage. Amaze us with human talents once more and remove the CGI safety net, it has grown tiresome to watch. If I want to see Titans in CGI, I'll buy the video game... If that's what Warner Brothers and Legendary Pictures intend to put on the silver screen - I'll say home. - antijamsect, on 06/30/2008, -0/+0NOOOOOOOOOOO
Please don't ruin a cherished childhood memory! - PokebarXp, on 07/10/2008, -0/+0I'll Direct it if you will permit me.
