- NoticeDesign, on 08/31/2009, -0/+77People Killed:
Rambo 1: 1
Rambo 2: 69
Rambo 3: 132
Rambo 4: 236
Rambo 5: 450? - NoticeDesign, on 08/31/2009, -9/+56I thought the whole premise of Rambo 4 was kind of odd. Thousands of innocent asian women and children slaughtered? Rambo doesn't care. One white woman gets kidnapped? ***** hits the fan.
So is the young girl in the new one going to be white so she stands out appropriately from all the brown people Rambo is killing? - dweeb79, on 08/31/2009, -2/+41"The upcoming project's storyline revolves around Rambo fighting his way through human traffickers and drug lords to rescue a young girl abducted near the U.S.-Mexico border."
Didn't we already see this in "Man on Fire"?
Stallone has gotten better with age, so I'll give him the benefit of the doubt. - ecosimon, on 08/31/2009, -0/+35Rambo IV was excellent but was a little too short for my liking, the fact that Stallone was an older geezer didnt detract from the none stop action.
More of the same, but a bit longer if you please. - Splicernyc, on 08/31/2009, -0/+33Except this time it will be called, "Lot's of Men on Fire".
- supersonicjim, on 08/31/2009, -1/+33First Blood
Rambo: First Blood Part II
Rambo III
Rambo
Rambo V
There's something not right about those titles. - supermanred, on 08/31/2009, -0/+30I'm still gonna watch it, but he's gonna have to blow some things up to get to 450. A lot of things.
Awesome. - sickthoughts, on 08/31/2009, -1/+20I really enjoyed the last installment, if for no other reason than the brutal killing of countless bad guys.
- mynameisdi, on 08/31/2009, -0/+18As dumb as it was, I loved the last movie.
It was simple, brutal and fun. - monodelasno, on 08/31/2009, -0/+15I saw it more as a play on Americas isolationist role prior to WW2.
- Konformitee, on 08/31/2009, -0/+15These Digg kids are too young to remember First Blood.
- philomatic, on 08/31/2009, -0/+15Can't wait for The Expendables!
- benroy, on 08/31/2009, -0/+14I'm really hoping he goes back to the original 1:1 formula. Unless he decides to take out congress & their lobbyists. Not only would that be the best Rambo ever, it would also have the highest body count.
- spritom, on 08/31/2009, -6/+17God didn't make Rambo. I made him!
- inactive, on 08/31/2009, -0/+11if it as good as...what was it, Rambo IV... I am all for it.
- DivineMonkey, on 08/31/2009, -4/+14This is why drugs need to be legalized. Nobody has an imagination anymore.
- dsmx, on 08/31/2009, -0/+9Hmm almost doubles every film, 900 deaths here we come.
- Browzer, on 08/31/2009, -0/+9I remember Stallone saying that the fifth movie would be a quieter drama about Rambo's relationship with his father. Guess that idea got dropped....
- mbraynard, on 08/31/2009, -6/+15The premise was that Rambo didn't think he was capable of changing anything - and then he found someone who seemed to really care about trying to change the situation and cared about him - and he both cared about her and decided to rescue her in return.
But I guess you can classify everything as a racist incident if you try hard enough. That you, Barack? - Sashwan, on 08/31/2009, -0/+7His mumbling hasn't gotten any better with age. :P
- RoboDonut, on 08/31/2009, -1/+8How so?
The main series just have a number attached. The spin-offs get subtitles. There's a clear pattern. - Heiminator, on 08/31/2009, -0/+6i would prefer an improvement more alike to rambo 1>rambo 2
236x69=16284,but he probably he would need nukes or something alike (though the big explosion in rambo 4 looked like a nuke already :-) ) - KingWi11, on 08/31/2009, -0/+6fun, but can we stop pretending to be shocked to find out that he's been juicing again?
- CptBuck, on 08/31/2009, -0/+6Except that that's how people actually act, sociologists call it Dunbar's number (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dunbar%27s_number)
People cannot actually conceive of a social group larger than about 200 people. 200 is about the maximum limit for how many people any person can actually, truly be capable of "caring" about.
So yes, Rambo, like millions of people who don't really give a ***** about any of the mass conflicts going on around the world, cares a lot more about one person in his group of 200 than thousands of people being slaughtered who are outside of it. - NoticeDesign, on 08/31/2009, -1/+6I'm white. No racist card to play here. Keep it in your pants for next time.
- benroy, on 08/31/2009, -3/+8It's like the Final Fantasy series.
- malcdizzle, on 08/31/2009, -0/+5i'M COMMIN FOR YOU MURDOCK!!
- rascilon, on 08/31/2009, -0/+5As a big fan of exploding heads, I can't wait to see this film!
- Jokaroni, on 08/31/2009, -0/+5I hope he rips out more throats with his bare hands.
- rpapi100, on 08/31/2009, -1/+6Seriously they should make a Blood Sport movie starring all those old action stars, Norris, Van Damme (to convince him, tell him he can do a split in the movie), Stallone, Chan, Seagal, etc. doing their respective ***** and duking it out. Would be cool if they we're bad guys and the good guys would be like these up n' coming action movie stars like Jaa, The Rock (I know, still, he is an action guy), Tatum, Graig, etc.
Too bad Bronson is dead, Schwarzenegger is Governatin' and Eastwood is geriatric (he was still cool in Grand Torino...) - thezoner, on 08/31/2009, -1/+5In this one Rambo will fight arthritis.
- fzammetti, on 08/31/2009, -0/+4I was just thinking the exact same thing :) In fact, you can probably tell how old you are by:
1. You didn't recognize what the OP said (ages 0-30)
2. You recognized it (ages 30-35)
3. You recognized it AND you used to play Rambo in the woods by your house when you were a kid (35-40)
3. You recognized it AND you used to play Rambo in the woods by your house when you were a kid AND the scene at the end of the movie actually moved you (40-50)
4. You recognized it AND you used to play Rambo in the woods by your house when you were a kid AND the scene at the end of the movie actually moved you AND the shaving scene made you have flashbacks yourself (50+) - Barackalypse, on 08/31/2009, -0/+4At least this wasn't co-opted as a political statement about health care, where Rambo must fight the claims department of his HMO to get approved for anger management counseling.
- rpapi100, on 08/31/2009, -0/+4Just saw my ''we're''... sorry guys...
and no need to point out that the younger actors are not up and coming, what I mean is that they have not obtain legendary status compared to the other ones (except maybe Jaa).
With the right scenario, audiences would really not know who would ''win'' in the end and with a decent story and plot line, it would be really something interesting (and cheap! must of these dudes are bargain bin stars by themselves & no CGI needed!) - JediPilot, on 08/31/2009, -0/+4^
I'm 24 and I recognized it. IMO First Blood was the best Rambo. - PedleZelnip, on 08/31/2009, -0/+4Actually that'd be a great premise for a video game. Do a remake of a MK style figthing game but with old 80's action heroes. :)
- macmcraeart, on 08/31/2009, -0/+4god didn't make Alzheimer's John J. Rambo did.
- pogdish, on 08/31/2009, -1/+3hopefully one day we'll see a cross-genre rambo where he goes up against a godzilla or cloverfield monster on one of jupiter's moons
- firesphotons, on 08/31/2009, -1/+3Hollywood, where original scripts and new ideas go to die.
- bjs3171, on 08/31/2009, -0/+2i just watched Rambo 4 like last week. The body count was more like 600.
- mbraynard, on 08/31/2009, -1/+3One cannot complain about playing a race card when one has played it in their opening hand.
FYI - Obama is also white. - NoticeDesign, on 08/31/2009, -0/+2http://www.firstshowing.net/2008/01/23/check-this- ...
I haven't / wouldn't bother verifying it but feel free. - putterz, on 08/31/2009, -0/+2completely disagree, im sick of seeing 3 hour movies. just keep it under 2 hours and keep the good parts. if i want to see a long cut, ill watch the extended/directors cut when it comes out (which i wont)
but i agree rambo was brilliant - zackdman, on 08/31/2009, -1/+2Rambo V: Attack on AARP
- FXNGLAS, on 08/31/2009, -0/+1I'm waiting for the day when Rambo starts taking out people with his cane or walker. Stallone just turned 63 in July.
- macmcraeart, on 08/31/2009, -4/+5not sure. did man on fire have a senior citizen in it with an m-60 and a walker?
- bjs3171, on 08/31/2009, -0/+1actually, there is a movie in the works with all the classic action stars, and some newer ones, like Jason Stathom. I doubt it's a Blood Sport plot, but it should be pretty epic.
- skillet, on 08/31/2009, -0/+1He's a real Frederick Zoller.
- Sebach, on 09/01/2009, -0/+1http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OEVzPCY2T-g
