- arj7297, on 01/25/2008, -4/+68sounds like a science fiction movie or a BSG episode, not the title of a Bond movie!
- mlvassallo, on 01/25/2008, -1/+45With names like Octopussy and Moonraker I don't see how people can complain.
- paco1524, on 01/25/2008, -3/+46It sounds like a new Castlevania game.
- quomen, on 01/25/2008, -13/+53As bad-ass as the D.Craig is, the title ***** sucks. The Quantum of Solace? Why not the Serenity of Flying SpacetimeEnergyHamster.
- GKaushik, on 01/25/2008, -0/+37it's the title of an old Bond short story. so it's not something out of the blue.
- Jimbob200, on 01/25/2008, -2/+39Did you even read the preview for the article? Christ.
"The title is taken from one of a collection of short stories published by 007 creator Ian Fleming in 1960." - estacado, on 01/25/2008, -0/+24You do know that people hate it when you sign your comments like that, do you?
- hmunkey, on 01/25/2008, -8/+29Craig rocks at being Bond. I can't wait!
- dn11, on 01/25/2008, -1/+19The title actually comes from an Ian Flemming story (the creator of James Bond)
- redhotkurt, on 01/25/2008, -0/+18Sounds like the name of a Dio song.
- SemiSarcastic, on 01/25/2008, -1/+17Or "Today Was Never Yesterday".
- stealth45, on 01/25/2008, -0/+15Chris Cornell never mentioned "Casino Royale" in "You Know My Name."
Shouldn't be a problem. - Asberry, on 01/25/2008, -5/+20"Casino Royale" was one of the coolest film titles ever so I knew that whatever the sequel's title would be would just let me down compared to "Casino Royale"
But this...this is just lame. But it's still better than a title like "Die Two Days After Another Tomorrow" - estacado, on 01/25/2008, -0/+14Yup. Stay away from the words "die", "tomorrow", "today", never", "live".
- underwise, on 01/25/2008, -3/+16Bond 22 was fine
- jcannonb, on 01/25/2008, -3/+16Did you not read the article? It came from a series of short Stories Ian Fleming wrote in the 60's. It came from Bond stuff you dip.
- GKaushik, on 01/25/2008, -1/+13Moonraker?
- zioxide, on 01/25/2008, -0/+11It picks up right where Casino Royale left off.
- Uranium118, on 01/25/2008, -2/+11Sounds too sci-fi for a Bond movie. But twice the action!! It will rock.
- CrimsonBlur, on 01/25/2008, -1/+11Previous to the new "Casino Royale", I probably would have agreed with you. However, Daniel Craig is so unbelievably badass as Bond I can't agree. Just watching the video made me realize how awesome Daniel Craig is.
Just during the interview, he has such an awesome look, and his stare is so steely yet he can still show emotion, it makes him very unique, not to mention he is a phenomenal actor. The man makes something as simple as walking away down the street, as in the last scene from the video, look completely awesome. I am definitely looking forward to this new Bond film, I don't care what the title is (but I actually happen to like the title). - Mattja, on 01/25/2008, -5/+15And I remember everyone being skeptical of Craig's blond hair too. Let's wait and see shall we?
- ksoon, on 01/25/2008, -1/+10In lieu of sounding like a complete geek at the box office window....I think I'll just say "007".
- Beakerz, on 01/25/2008, -0/+9http://imdb.com/title/tt0830515/
Shows James Bond under "other cast" considering James Bond is such and unimportant character in the Bond series. - SaladCactusKing, on 01/25/2008, -1/+9It's based on the title of a short story that Ian Fleming wrote for Cosmopolitan Magazine about Bond listening to a love story at a dinner party. Let's hope the film has nothing to do with that.
- dimplemonkey, on 01/25/2008, -1/+9Is it true that it is supposed to take place several hours after Casino Royale? Very 24-ish if you asked me! "
The following Bond movie took place several hours after the last one..." - Kathan, on 01/25/2008, -2/+10Well whoever writes the theme song is pretty much in a bind. Not much rhymes with Solace.
- boxlight, on 01/25/2008, -0/+7Actually read something recently about the title "Tomorrow Never Dies". It was actually originally "Tomorrow Never LIES" because Tomorrow was the name of the newspaper in the movie.
Apparently some mistake was made, a poster mock-up read "Tomorrow Never DIES" -- the writer pointed out the mistake, the directory thought the mistake was better and kept it even though it didn't make sense anymore. - elementfire, on 01/25/2008, -0/+7The last time Hollywood took a great collection of short stories and turned it into a movie, we got "I, Robot".
- boxlight, on 01/25/2008, -0/+6My favorite one was "Tomorrow is Never Enough" ... or was it "The World is Never Tomorrow" ... er ...
- inactive, on 01/25/2008, -0/+6why do people always seem so surprised at the number of diggs it took the story to hit the front page? Doesn't it happen enough that people learned to stop getting freaked out about? Or are they too busy ***** out of their eye sockets at the injustice?
- brundlefly76, on 01/25/2008, -1/+7Not just Craig, but also now Bond has feelings and relationships and the stories have continuity!
I never really cared that Bond was just a swinging dick, kinda thought it was awesome actually, but having him actually have a love interest in the 'Bond girl' makes both characters WAY more interesting than the traditional Bond film.
Oh and of course its also much cooler that Bond beats people to death with his bare hands rather than zapping them with a laser watch or whatever. - h4mx0r, on 01/25/2008, -1/+7That is... even better. I would pay to see a movie titled Serenty of Flying SpacetimeEnergyHamster.
- Rakuseki, on 01/25/2008, -2/+7RTFA. It's the title of one of Ian Fleming's Bond Short stories....
- Big-Pat, on 01/25/2008, -0/+5Yes
- boxlight, on 01/25/2008, -0/+5No doubt Brosnan would have much preferred to do a gritty Casino Royale Bond. Look at Brosnan's other post-Bond projects -- Thomas Crown Affair, Tailor of Panana -- they're not all gems, but they're always ballsy.
IMO, Goldeneye was one of the best Bonds ever -- but all the other Brosnan ones were crap. - appleseed1234, on 01/25/2008, -0/+5Aren't you a witty little Digger?
- bat-21, on 01/25/2008, -0/+5Don't forget "kill".
- boxlight, on 01/25/2008, -0/+5On the contrary, I'm hoping -- expecting -- that the short story will be included. The middle third of Casino Royale followed the book nearly to a t and it was very welcome. Otherwise, why use the title at all?
I was very surprised what a good book Moonraker was, and I was hoping that would be the sequel to Casino Royale, actually. - ripple123, on 01/25/2008, -0/+5Well I cant say I expected that
- wafflez, on 01/25/2008, -0/+5Octopussy?
- john2kx, on 01/25/2008, -1/+5Yes. It's a good movie. Go see it.
- boxlight, on 01/25/2008, -0/+4Just FYI, Octopussy and Moonraker are also both Fleming Bond titles. Although Quantum of Solace is a *very* different Bond story, I'll be interested to see how they incorporate it into the movie.
- estacado, on 01/25/2008, -1/+5Your life is empty.
- hockey, on 01/25/2008, -0/+4Quote from a previous digger on a similar topic:
MY LIFE IS ADVERSELY AFFECTED BY THE TITLE OF A MOVIE AND I MUST COMPLAIN ABOUT IT ON THE INTERNETS!!! - beanage, on 01/25/2008, -0/+4You know, the word 'quantum' doesn't always have to relate to physics and space. Look in a bleeding dictionary, it has more than one meaning, as do a lot of words in the English language. This is a great Bond title, although I would have liked to see Risico instead but this is still a pretty good title. It compliments the story based on revenge.
By the way. Pierce Brosnan is a pretty crappy Bond compared to Daniel Craig. Brosnan was a god damned cartoon, even in Goldeneye. Then again so was every Bond except some of the Connery movies, Lazenby and Dalton. - time4evacuation, on 01/25/2008, -0/+4I'm digging the fact that all three of the newer Bond girls (Eva Green, Olga Kurylenko and Gemma Arterton) are all "the girl next door". They're way sexier than the model looking Bond girls of the Brosnan films.
- akatsuki, on 01/25/2008, -0/+4The worst part is that he wanted to do a grittier, more real Bond and they wouldn't let him.
- cptgame446, on 01/25/2008, -0/+4Thunderball?
- kinseyincanada, on 01/25/2008, -0/+4hahah its even in the description
- boxlight, on 01/25/2008, -0/+4That's awesome! Mod him up. I'll definitely be using that as my "generic dumb Bond title" from now on. Brilliant!
