- Scoobysnax, on 10/12/2007, -0/+10David Duchovny confirmed this on KROQ (L.A. Radio) last week. He will be in it.
- nicepants, on 10/12/2007, -2/+12I want to believe.
- StrangeFamous, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8Better late than never! X-Files deserves a sequel, the first movie was great. Unfortunately, the show (without Mulder) kinda descended into mediocrity towards the last few seasons. There's so much story to be had with the characters, they could really do a bang-up job making another film.
- EBFoxbat, on 10/12/2007, -2/+10"I won't believe it until it actually hits the theatres"
Once I see a trailer or some cast listings I'll believe it. Waiting until it hits theaters is a little extreme don't you think? - cypher35, on 10/12/2007, -2/+9That would be fine too... Although with the state that they left everything in at the end of the last episode, I can't imagine Mulder and Scully returning to their "monster-a-week" episodes.
As long as it's David Duchovny and not Robert Patrick. I don't mind Mr. T-1000, but I'd rather not have him be the lead role. - seansshack, on 10/12/2007, -5/+11Think this may be a "little" bit on the late side.
- cwilson, on 10/12/2007, -2/+8Last I heard the movie was supposed to be more in tune with the "monster of the week" type of episodes. If I had to guess, it would be like a "lost Season 7 episode".
But.. it would be cool to have an X-Files movie take place in 2012... for obvious reasons ;) - Accutron, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8Let's just hope the break since the series ended has given them a chance at writing something that makes sense. As hard as this is to say, the last 2 seasons were completely ridiculous and slightly painful to watch. I'm a big X-Files fan but I found myself cringing far too often. While they're at it they can also scrap all of the romantic nonsense they threw in to please the whiny fangirls who wanted a soap opera. You know who you are. This is good news even though it sounds vaguely familiar to what I've heard the past 5 years or so.
- 5xSTUN, on 10/12/2007, -3/+8All I can say is that I WANT TO BELIEVE.
- ravenpen, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Duchovny also recently confirmed this:
http://iesb.net/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=2162&Itemid=99 - cypher35, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Nice! Chris Carter has been teasing us about a sequel since around 2002. I was begining to think it would never happen.
When was the end of the world supposed to take place according to the X-Files lore? 2012? I wonder what the setting of this movie will be... - g30ph, on 10/12/2007, -2/+6Let me guess the plot
Scully gets knocked unconscious, then the aliens come out and discuss their evil plans for world domination. Then the aliens fly away just as Scully is waking up, Moulder tells her what just happened, and she tells him he's hallucinating. Oh I can't wait. - Gatesophile, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Please be David Duchovny....
- j3rm1981, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I wouldn't imagine they'll do it without David Duchovany...that's the least of my concerns. Who's writing...? That's more important because if the cast is there but the writing sucks, then what's the point? I'm sure Chris Carter will be involved, as it's his baby. And David even did some classic episodes himself.
- simpleid, on 10/12/2007, -3/+6Everyone seemed to love star trek, well x-files was my obsession, so sad to see the way it went after season 7-8 and then disappear, such good memories.
And the rumors for this movie really have been around for ever, and I'm still hoping for it... don't let me down! :( - Cine, on 10/12/2007, -2/+5I'm hoping it would rather take place in earlier seasons, which makes the monster-of-the-week scenario much more likely. It also gives me hope that Krycek might make an appearance, haha.
- aikahanyou, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3They've been saying that for *years*. I'm a HUGE fan of the X-Files and I'd love to see some new material but... they claimed the script was in production right after the first movie. Chances are it's not going to happen.

unFame say: LA, CA. sources strongly speculate that,
“X-Files 2” Gillian Anderson Bullied Again by Nazi Hollywood.
Anderson Knew: that she would have to make a statement to old hollywood’s 2007 most recent public threat towards her, in making this x files 2—attempting to manipulate her involvement. anderson shows her wisdom in how she approaches addressing this issue, AGAIN. see, closely, her chosen words. her statements have been in two parts, to paraphrase, 1. first was to ensure her fans that she does care for them. 2. then her recent follow up public statements screamed to old hollywood, don’t even think about fking with me or my family again. (see her bringing up her documented, 2002 untold story. response to the latter will no doubt be the doctored sex photos posted with hollywood’s gossip sites, when negotiating|threatening. oh, have you seen (don’t be mislead by the date on the article):
www.fatbackandcollards.com/2006/07/04/gillian-anderson-doesnt-want-to-believe-in-the-x-files-2/
A Lot Of Questions Here: did she give her permission for the photos displayed? ...how did they get the photos? ...why can’t anderson fight back? ...who do you think owns or controls that site? ...why haven’t duchovny, carter, spotnitz, who are in the article attached to the photos, not protested—why did they not protest anderson’s abuse in 2002? ...is anderson being blackmailed? and this one... http://www.marilyn-monroe-memorabilia.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=158&Itemid=179&lang=de
What Would You Do: if all abandoned you while, old Nazi hollywood, stole your first motherhood—under contract—2002—then tried to destroy your rep, and ability to work again in your field, ever, because you protested? what would you do if this perpetrator publicly, freely raped your life, and your only daughter’s life—while co-workers watched on, 2002--then returned in 5 years insisting you work for them?
Anderson, And All Artist Are Free: ...you can bet that she will choose a helen project, or not, or any other that is best suited for herself and family. the aug 2007 X-script issue, or other no go excuses, really might be ...when attempting to contact her with orders to immediately report to xfiles2 filming set ...perhaps the only response this time is ...ring, ring! ...ring, ring! ...ring, ring! you can also bet that if anderson does xfiles2 it’s likely that there’s something extreme over her.
*Gillian Anderson best known for ...well ...being Gillian Anderson. cool
best wishes, thanks for having me
P.S. sorry duchovny ...but ...how is your--very TEMP--new deal with nazi hollywood going ...isn’t it your paid voice, and image, that’s being used as the instrument to get this thing going again?...hee ...hee - notbob, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1666 diggs
- anagoge, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2From Digital Spy:
Gillian Anderson hated 'X-Files'
Gillian Anderson has confessed that she hated her time on The X-Files and will never appear in another TV series.
The actress insisted that the only reason she played Agent Scully for nine years was because she enjoyed the financial rewards of starring on the show.
"I couldn't get out of it. I didn't have a choice. I had to sign a contract for five-and-a-half-years before I even went to my first audition - when I didn't know if I'd got the part," Gillian told Stella magazine. "Back then I was all innocent and I thought, 'Wow that sounds wonderful.'
"But then, when I started, I realised I'd be in a Canadian wood working 16 hours a day for nine months a year. And the reason I stayed so long was because the only way I could get more money was to commit myself to doing it for another couple of years."
Asked about future TV projects, she replied: "Oh, shut the f*** up! Are you kidding me? My God, I don't even watch television. I don't like television. I never have liked it. The whole concept of sitting down in front of a TV feels like one of the things that's destroying society, as far as I'm concerned." - unfame, on 10/10/2007, -0/+0right on! unFame.com
- LotusStarscream, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I don't consider the last two seasons as part of the show, they were terrible and I wish I could erase them from an otherwise pristine series, I hope that if/when the film comes out it is classic X-Files, as in no T-1000.
- eneshelon, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1that is surely one sorely misses show :-/
- xavier687, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1FINALLY!!!! My prayers have been answered. The X Files was THE BEST show on television and it was a very sad day when it ended. I've been waiting for another movie for almost 10 years and hope if the movie gets the attention it deserves, then MAYBE they might make another movie or even better would be to restart the television series. I would love the see it pick up right where it left off. There were many unanswered questions and it is a shame things ended. I guess David thought he was above being Fox, but with all the money he was making from the series and the attention he received, I'm sure he is kicking himself for not continuing.
- neokoenig, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0At least it's not another prequel. :)
- cypher35, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1Well, clearly it won't be a sequel to the X-Files "fight the future" movie. That was really nothing more than a long episode with a larger budget to bridge the gap between seasons 5 and 6.
- xavier687, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1If memory serves me, I believe it was November 11, 2012.
- MiddleOfNowhere, on 10/12/2007, -5/+3Yawn.
I loved the series in the nineties; it was the one hour each week when I would take no phone calls and not open the door (or the fridge). They really explored new territory. It was the only geek show on German TV (which at that time was even worse than today).
But let’s face it: The movie was so-so, full of clichés and predictable pseudo-cliffhangers.
Don’t saddle a dead horse. - rygoke, on 10/12/2007, -2/+0They should make the aliens think like Homer Simpson. He said that old people don't need companionship. They need to be isolated and studied so it can be determined what nutrients they have that might be extracted for our personal use.
- VeganG, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1Agreed. They need to let it go.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+1That poor dead horse....
- misteral, on 10/12/2007, -8/+5Trust no one indeed. This "rumor" has been out there for years. I won't believe it until it actually hits the theatres

Two years ago it might have been right at the edge of "almost" too late, but now it is really over. Not that I wouldn't go to see it... - foxxhunt, on 10/12/2007, -6/+0Spooky will still be playing Mulder. However, Scully will no longer be played by Gillian Anderson.
- Spamiclese, on 10/12/2007, -10/+1Awww I read as "X-men" sequel =[.
