- Dumbledorito, on 08/02/2008, -2/+57How can it be delayed? Just hit the "rewind" button, for crissakes.
- inactive, on 08/03/2008, -3/+51Can't we get a ***** Arab/Iranian/Persian/Even-a-*****-Mexican for PRINCE OF PERSIA?
- inactive, on 08/02/2008, -4/+39NOT EVERY PIECE OF ***** MEDIA NEEDS TO BE TURNED INTO A MOVIE.
- inactive, on 08/02/2008, -2/+30Jake Gyllenhaal? really?
- SirBrittanicus, on 08/03/2008, -0/+26Oxford English Dictionary: The Movie
- inactive, on 08/03/2008, -2/+27Like Mooney said "The Mexican" with Brad Pitt, "Last Samurai" with Tom Cruise. What's next?
I got an idea for a movie, "The Last ***** On Earth" starring Tom Hanks. - cdigioia, on 08/03/2008, -0/+13Meh, Iranians (roughly modern-day Persia) look very European. Give Gyllenhall a tan and it won't be as far off as you think.
- inactive, on 08/03/2008, -0/+13Actually there's a lot white Middle Easterners. Lebanese, some indigenous groups in the Gulf States, Afghanistan has the whitest "whities" though. It's not uncommon to see blonde-haired, blue-eyed children.
- cdigioia, on 08/03/2008, -0/+12I had the same reaction, but -
People said the same about Daniel Craig as Bond, and now people debate if he's maybe, MAYBE as good as Connery, or even better.
And Gyllenhaal was great in Donnie Darko...maybe he can do this? - NathanCH, on 08/03/2008, -2/+132010? That's too soon for another bad movie based off a game.
- inactive, on 08/03/2008, -1/+12Serious, They couldn't find ANYONE else?
- inactive, on 08/03/2008, -0/+9A Jew playing the Prince of Persia would cause WW3
- tajam, on 08/03/2008, -0/+8hahaha, I'm from Syria, mostly white people there
- inactive, on 08/03/2008, -1/+8No no no, we don't need actors to FIT the parts.
We need actors to FILL the seats.
Sadly though, if you or I were a movie producer and we wanted a box office hit, we to would need to get a mainstream actor. - Jhiaxuz, on 08/03/2008, -0/+7I can't wait till Escape from Monkeys Island is adapted.
- inactive, on 08/03/2008, -0/+7^ I'm copyrighting that, ***** off
- gogog0, on 08/03/2008, -0/+6http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Iranian_actor ...
theres really no shortage... - inactive, on 08/03/2008, -0/+5Oh noez, teh internetz
- mitikomon, on 08/03/2008, -0/+5I dont know about his acting. but he seems a lot like Prince of Persia.
- Smooooth, on 08/03/2008, -0/+5"The Mexican" actually referred to the name of a gun in the movie. So...yeah.
- Darkaged, on 08/03/2008, -0/+5It works great as a game. Rewinding time to save yourself from dying, slowing down time while running along walls and the great puzzles that have many different parts to them.
As a movie? Not so much. It would be your typical bullet time overdose movie. - deadlift, on 08/03/2008, -0/+5What I mean to say is, he is American and shows the facial characteristics of a Caucasian and not a Middle Eastern. I'm sure hollywood makeup and design would make him fit the role though. I just think it would be nice to see some new blood in Hollywood, a person from a culture that isn't mainstream in Hollywood film.
- inactive, on 08/03/2008, -0/+5The movie is going to suck. It's being made by Disney, so we'll be lucky if it's PG-13. It'll be hard to be an accurate representation of the game if it has a PG rating.
- gsp9216, on 08/03/2008, -3/+7remember heath ledger? remember how everyone doubted him for being the joker?
- mimigins, on 08/03/2008, -3/+7http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mohinder_Suresh
Mohinder is sexy. Would he fit the role? - Nazuel, on 08/03/2008, -0/+4Delay it indefinitely. I have had a belly full of crappy cash-in video game movie spin-offs.
- smek2, on 08/03/2008, -0/+3Too bad, i misread the headline and thought it was delayed to 2100.
- inactive, on 08/03/2008, -0/+3Starring Christian Bale as the letter X, and Will Smith as the word "hype." Together on a mission to stop Webster from stealing the world's words!
- bubbles19518, on 08/03/2008, -0/+3What will we illegally download once the RIAA successfully stops all music piracy? I can see movies made from games being the next big thing here...
- gcnaddict, on 08/03/2008, -0/+3No he doesn't. I'm Persian, and I've seen enough to know that Jake won't look like one.
- deadlift, on 08/03/2008, -1/+4He's white. He doesn't look remotely Middle Eastern. He's definitely a great actor (see Donnie Darko) but the movie should stick to how the game was.
- 6shot, on 08/03/2008, -0/+3Dugg for "We did, however, press the Start button on the PlayStation 3 controller before it was snatched out of our hands. That bit worked perfectly."
- inactive, on 08/03/2008, -0/+3Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
- BrokenCircle, on 08/03/2008, -0/+3With Jake Gyllenhaal playing Prince Dastan this movie could be indefinitely delayed and I am pretty sure most people would not care.
- inactive, on 08/03/2008, -0/+3The Last Black Guy on Earth, starring Tom Hanks.
- thecoolestguy, on 08/03/2008, -0/+3Jake Gyllenhaal is half Jewish, half Swedish.
- ligyron, on 08/03/2008, -0/+3And this has what to do with Dumbledorito's comment...?
- inactive, on 08/03/2008, -0/+2Dude, you must be the only person who knows that much about the movie, well, you and the writer.
- MetalGear7, on 08/03/2008, -0/+2Gold
- Socratores, on 08/03/2008, -0/+2Why not take an actor that actually LOOKS Persian.
- werries, on 08/03/2008, -0/+2lets change that, please.
lets just hope Uwe Boll doesn't direct anything else..... - convergent, on 08/03/2008, -0/+2I'm middle eastern and have all white features, not a single person would guess I am a middle easterner unless they already know.
- inactive, on 08/03/2008, -0/+2Bingo.
- Codename, on 08/03/2008, -1/+3Well if it's anything like Hitman, then thank god it got delayed.
- inactive, on 08/03/2008, -0/+2Try the first 2 ones for DOS, they were amazing.
- chaoswings, on 08/03/2008, -1/+3There's a Prince of Persia movie? First time I ever heard of it.
But as we all know video games and movies do not mix. We all know that when a movie is made from a video game it will most likely suck. The same goes for the reverse situation, nobody get your hopes up. - bubbameister33, on 08/03/2008, -0/+2You mean fast forward button, for "crissakes".
- Hangly, on 08/03/2008, -0/+2As long as we're casting Indians, why not Aasif Mandvi?
Or failing that, Sharukh Khan. - gogog0, on 08/03/2008, -0/+2persians have facial features very similar to caucasians.
- freakstyle571, on 08/03/2008, -0/+2Isn't it being produced by Bruckheimer? I mean, his back catalog is pretty impressive I thought?
