- mandarin, on 10/12/2007, -0/+8you mean you're Spike?
heheh i kid. - Miyazaki, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Just in case it's taken down...
http://img50.imageshack.us/img50/715/1663b5ede39d75f49cce0cbe586b21.jpg (Not high res) - uraligoss, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6they're making soundwave a helicopter! WTF
- Techlifter, on 10/12/2007, -1/+7Well, they can't very well make Soundwave a tape deck/boombox if the producers of the film are trying to make the movie contemporary. Chances are, you know at least 4-5 people who've never even held an audio cassette tape. So no hope for Laserbeak, Buzzsaw, Ravage, Rumble, Frenzy, Ratbat...I want to go on, but my geekiness has already been exposed.
- wideawakewesley, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Here's three shots of Bumblebee in different states, from the upcoming movie:
http://wideawakewesley.spaces.msn.com/Blog/cns!BEFF74E688B564A2!8475.entry - 3dge, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4This movie is going to SUCK. Why? It's directed by Michael Bay - you know, the guy who directed The Island (the movie that killed Dreamworks), Pearl Harbor , and Armageddon. Don't say I didn't warn you.
- spoonard, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2That's not Bumblebee...there was a yellow ferrari autobot and a red lamborghini, the lambo's name was sideswipe and i can't for the life of me remember the yellow lambo's name...but judging by all the little bits sticking off of the autobot in question, id' guess it's not bumblebee...VW's just aren't that stylish.
- bitterCAMPARI, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I don't mind Michael Bay working on a movie like this. He is known (only) for explosions and that's what this movie needs
- WayGroovy, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2even that one is gone sooo
http://img164.imageshack.us/img164/1289/bumble7ps.jpg - nickdanger3d, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I agree that it's probably Sunstreak (I think that was his name.) But Bumblebee will be a Camaro in the movie, not a VW.
- dmann, on 10/12/2007, -2/+4Don't believe this guy! he is crrrrraaaaaaaaaaaaaazy!
Just kidding, cool stuff Miya!
BUMBLEBEE IS NOT A CAMARO!!! - PhilH, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Glad to see not everything is CGI these days.
- spelchek, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Oh if it's legit this sucker gonna be gone soon
- billflu, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2Large image
http://img523.imageshack.us/img523/7844/test3fm.jpg - pirco, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't know what it is, but seeing that picture makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Hopefully the movie is at least as good as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, I don't care what people say, that movie kicked ass.
- CubiX, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I was practically raised by transformers. Can't wait to see this movie.
Any word on how far they got with shooting it? - kimzor, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1looks pretty sweet!
- astrofizix, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Ever heard of an 8 cylinder beetle?
Bet that prop is a pain to work with... Dugg - Miyazaki, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1From my understanding, in the movie Bumblebee is a busted up car that a kid fines, he fixes him up and then later discovers that he's an Autobot...
If anyone understands otherwise, please feel free to correct me. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Never been a Bumblebee fan, but that's cool. Nice find.
- GutterMoo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1For anyone who didn't know VW will not allow their cars to be used in action movies. They don't want anything to do with war after their involvement in WW2 and being on the Nazi side. That is why Bumblebee is a camaro.
- netburnr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2@JCubed...
Learn to spell C-A-M-A-R-O.......jeez some people - Nerys, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Wow either I have really messed up tastes or you have messed up tastes since
The Island (the movie that killed Dreamworks), Pearl Harbor , and Armageddon.
I like all three of those movies and LOVED the last 2 Pearl Harbor was Stunning and I still watch Armageddon now and again. - GuyOnOatmealBox, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Couldn't they make Soundwave a CD playing boom box?
- cameron074, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1wow. sick.
- Rojo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1First off Bay is the perfect director for this movie. He knows how to do high action and thats what Transformers is. You know he's not going to try and show the soft side of optimus prime by having him pet kittens. He might have him blowing them up though. As for bumblebee i think the change needed to be made anyways VW bugs(especially the new ones) have become known as being cars mainly driven by women and since BumBee is a guy car it makes sense to me.
- jack_dt, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1dtheatre.com has some info and has been keeping a photo up. DT tends to keep leaks around longer than most:
http://www.dtheatre.com/read.php?sid=3767 - pirco, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Sad to see that it isn't a VW Bug. But I think I can look past that.
- super_spyder, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1anyone have any idea as to what type of car that is?
- happyfundave, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3But he also directed Bad Boys 2 proving that he does crazy over the top action with the best of them, and that's exactly what i want from a transformer movie
- vanzee, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0Link to a copy of the pic:
http://neatgeek.phpnet.us/?p=50 - trees420, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0those things have gotta cost some crazy $$$
they'll eventually get mine, i grew up watching that ***** so i can't wait to see the movie... - paralleljay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0or was that Hasbro? I guess that's 80s marketing for ya, kinda just makes them all run together.
- Kloran, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0I kind of agree with Rojo a bit. The classic transformers of old is gone, unfortunately. I would have liked to see an original remake, but I think this one will be just as good, if not better. We shall soon see.
- JCubed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0That IS a comaro in the pictures,
first a busted up 70's Comaro
and then the new Comaro Chevy will be releasing like next year or so. - paralleljay, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0They're keeping the Kenner/Matel tradition alive, lol
- ultradust, on 10/12/2007, -0/+0just think of all that merchandising riches this movie will reap. geeks with both hate and like it -- when it comes out --but i bet the kids (to whom, this is all new) will love it. specially the "toys".
- Inc3pt, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Pretty sweet, can't wait to see the move...[Dugg]
- expertninja, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1They better not take this down. Some transformer nerds (including me) would go postal.
- superfonz, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0i want one!!!!!
- BripeKlmun, on 10/12/2007, -3/+1That is Bumblebee and he is a Camaro in the film. But anyway...
That's BS about VW not wanting anything to do with action or war stuff - they license tons of HO scale WWII models for collectors every year through a million different moel producers.
What you heard was supposedly said "after" hours "behind the scenes" at a Transformers con - not ever on record.
Point of fact is that VW charges an arm and a leg for licencing and there's no need for Bumblebee to be a Bug in a movie in 2007.
Oh yeah - that Michael Bay fella really sucks...that Pearl Harbor film and that Armageddon film really tanked, didn't they?
Not.
