- funkymonkey01, on 07/15/2008, -1/+12So who is going to be in the third movie?
- dpcdomino, on 07/16/2008, -3/+3I vote Bane and Riddler. Brains and Brawn.
- solesoul, on 07/16/2008, -0/+12Bane is a genius. It was god dammed Schumacher who made him borderline retarded.
- vypergts, on 07/16/2008, -0/+3Bane has been done but I would love to see the rest of the Knightfall arc made into a movie: the new Batman villain is....BATMAN himself (Azrael). Genius.
Added bonus: the character refuses to recognize Robin. - badtiki, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1Bane is a genius? He was a soldier in an experiment gone wrong.... Now the original plot for bane from Legends of the dark knight, where batman is addicted to the venom drug would be a killer story, you dont get much darker than that plotline! If you havn't read it, I suggest you pick up the first 20 Legend of the dark knight issues, very dark stuff indeed.

- Vosem, on 07/17/2008, -0/+1I'm most definitely for Bane as well. He broke the bat. Knightfall was amazing.
- dpcdomino, on 07/16/2008, -3/+3I vote Bane and Riddler. Brains and Brawn.

- darkchild82, on 07/15/2008, -1/+23Well, I'm sure Two-Face will be in the sequel....unless he gets killed off in The Dark Knight itself (which I'm guessing is highly unlikely)
- iPastafarian, on 07/16/2008, -8/+1~~~ SPOILER: ~~~
Well, it suggested that he was killed. At least, he was lying lifelessly on the ground long enough for Batman to turn the good half of his face up and never moved. Then the next scene there was a memorial celebration headed by Gordon to remember Harvey. But who knows, maybe he could still show up alive.
- iPastafarian, on 07/16/2008, -8/+1~~~ SPOILER: ~~~
- Willtheway, on 07/15/2008, -4/+3I still think Ra's ah Guhl should come back with Talia. Or they could do Robin's origin story just alluding to Dick becoming Robin, and not showing him strutting around in that costume.
- twiztidsinz, on 07/16/2008, -0/+10+ Ra's ah Ghul
- Anything Robin - mrhedges, on 07/16/2008, -0/+4Didn't Christian Bale say he wouldn't participate in another Batman movie if they introduced Robin? Oh, and nipples. He has a "No nipples or Robin" clause.
- Scaryclouds, on 07/16/2008, -1/+1Yea it would make perfect sense for Ra's ah Guhl to come back. I mean who the hell couldn't survive a catastrophic subway crash followed by a huge explosion?
If Nolan does bring Ra's back I will start calling him George Lucas.- shango5, on 07/16/2008, -0/+3thats his whole thing, living a long time and coming back from the dead.
- twiztidsinz, on 07/16/2008, -0/+10+ Ra's ah Ghul
- rebotfc, on 07/15/2008, -2/+5Bane
- btschul, on 07/15/2008, -9/+38I know I will get dugg down by the hardcore batman fans, but maybe Nolan could make up a new villain that fits into this new batman universe. Let's face it, apart form the joker, most of the batman villains were laughable. Especially Mr. freeze. In this new batman universe, everything is based PRETTY MUCH in reality. The idea that a scientist named "freeze" falls into a vat of liquid nitrogen or whatever and for the rest of his life he has to be kept cold by a suit, and he can only talk in ice related puns, is not very realistic. Joker works because he is a psycho in clown paint who blows stuff up. Two face had half of his face burned. The psychiatrist guy uses hallucinogenic drugs to make people insane. Those could all happen in real life. Oh yeah, and ***** ROBBIN.
- scififan9009, on 07/16/2008, -0/+19Nah, I won't digg you down. But you're thinking of villains from the TV show and previous movies only. Once you spread out to hardcore villains from the comics and graphic novles (like Bane and Deacon Blackfire) things get a lot more interesting. Here's a list that may help you out:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_The_Batman_vi ...
The Batman movies being made NOW are the graphic novels ("The Cult", "The Killing Joke", "Arkham Asylum") a lot of us were reading back in the late eighties/early nineties. THESE are the villains I'd hoped Burton would create in his Batman films, instead he showed total disrespect for the character and went his own direction. (Anyone who disagrees tell me why Batman gets shot like Superman in the first movie - Batman from the graphic novels would have broken the dude's arm in 11 places before he ever fired the trigger.) There's still plenty of hardcore lunatics for Nolan to work with before he needs to go about inventing a new one.- mrhedges, on 07/16/2008, -1/+12No amount of money in the world back in the late 80s could have made Michael Kaeton look like he could break a dude's arm in 11 pieces.
- bluezinc, on 07/16/2008, -2/+5Screw you, Mr. Freeze is one of the most intricate and interesting characters in comic books. He's a super villain, but he has no desire to be evil. His usual motives are either to help his wife or to seek revenge on someone who has harmed his wife/his wife's chances of being cured.
In my opinion he's the most melancholy of Batman's foes, if you laugh at Mr. Freeze then I don't know what's wrong with you, but clearly something is.- btschul, on 07/16/2008, -4/+1Mr. Freeze deserves to be laughed at - http://youtube.com/watch?v=VNaDZIrxh-0
He tries to freeze the entire city of gotham because his wife got sick and he fell into liquid nitrogen by accident? Yeah, that is intricate and not at all evil. "His usual motives are either to help his wife or to seek revenge on someone who has harmed his wife/his wife's chances of being cured." The entire city of gotham harmed his wife or her chance for a cure? I don't think so. My main point was that the joker character could exist in real life. A psycho could put clown paint on and call himself "the joker" and he would be the same as the joker in the new batman movies. Freeze, however, is evil because his wife has a made-up disease and he fell in chemicals and now has to be kept cold by a suit (and it is just a coincidence his name is "Freeze"?), the latter of which could not happen in real life. These new batman movies are realistic (batman glides, he doesn't "fly", that sort of thing) and the Mr. Freeze character is not. - bluezinc, on 07/16/2008, -1/+8You just tried to use "Batman and Robin" as evidence that Mr. Freeze is laughable. You do realize that the entire movie "Batman and Robin" is laughable, right? No villain in that movie looks good, none of the heroes look all that good either.
Please, if you're going to say, "this character sucks" don't point to the worst interpretation of them ever, EVER.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mr._Freeze
Read up. I was referring to the modern interpretation of Freeze, starting in the animated series. - praisethelard, on 07/16/2008, -0/+3I believe the cartoon is responsible for that version of Mr. Freeze, which is quite good, in my opinion.
- btschul, on 07/16/2008, -4/+1Mr. Freeze deserves to be laughed at - http://youtube.com/watch?v=VNaDZIrxh-0
- solesoul, on 07/16/2008, -2/+1I would love to see how Nolan could fit Freeze into his universe. I think if he avoided Freeze rays and ice puns, that would be one huge step.
- bluezinc, on 07/16/2008, -0/+3He could still use freeze rays. The ice puns were all Arnold.
Can we please stop acknowledging the existence of the Batman and Robin movie?
It's not a good reference point for ANYTHING. It was an abomination of cinema and humanity itself.
- bluezinc, on 07/16/2008, -0/+3He could still use freeze rays. The ice puns were all Arnold.
- mlvassallo, on 07/16/2008, -1/+7Yes, because the magic machine that vaporizes all water in a mile radius except for, oh say the water in the human body, was completely grounded in realism.
- xsuite, on 07/16/2008, -1/+3Also, the machine turned the already infected groundwater into vapor so humans could breathe it in and get infected, right?
Well wouldnt taking a nice hot shower have the same affect? 90% of gotham would be infected with it before the machine could even be turned on.
- xsuite, on 07/16/2008, -1/+3Also, the machine turned the already infected groundwater into vapor so humans could breathe it in and get infected, right?
- Defuser, on 07/16/2008, -1/+2Why do you even CARE what happens in the Batman movies, given that you obviously don't like the entire concept of Batman? You sit around whining about every single character and aspect of the original comic. Maybe it's time to just admit that you don't actually like Batman.
- kenvsryu, on 07/16/2008, -2/+4Danny Devito and Michelle Pfeifer can't be replaced.
- tenspeedogbb, on 07/16/2008, -1/+16A lot of people said tha about Jack Nicholson, too...
- kenvsryu, on 07/16/2008, -3/+1sympathy vote.
- solesoul, on 07/16/2008, -1/+3Pfeifer wasnt that great. I'd love to see Kate Beckinsale as Catwoman. She's hot as hell, not a bad actress, AND she said she wanted to do it. What more do we need, get her in that outfit!
- mchisari, on 07/16/2008, -1/+3
In the Nolan universe, "not a bad actress" just won't do for a leading antagonist. You can't take someone who you find attractive who is "not a bad actress" and have them play catwoman because you want them to wear a skin tight outfit. I've been hearing all these suggestions that are preposterous. Someone before suggested Charlize f'ing Theron?!?
Name someone that's a phenomenal actress, who can hold her own against the best actors in Hollywood: Christian Bale, Morgan Freeman, Aaron Eckhart, Cillian Murphy, Michael Caine, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Liam Neeson, Rutger Hauer, Ken Watanabe, Heath Ledger.
We all saw what happened when Katie Holmes, whose "not a bad actress", tried to hold her own as a minor side role in the first movie. Nothing short of top calibur would be required for Selina Kyle. - solesoul, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2I've never considered Maggie Gyllenhaal to be one of the best in Hollywood, and she certainly pales in comparison to anyone else you listed. So if she can get in, Kate Beckinsale definitely can.

- artofficial, on 07/16/2008, -0/+3two face would be pretty sick.
almost as much as widespread.
word.
- artofficial, on 07/16/2008, -0/+3two face would be pretty sick.
- Shiftgood, on 07/16/2008, -10/+1why not just use joker again? Its not like anyones paying attention to he continuity of these movies.
- mayra1201, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2good.
- bwonder, on 07/16/2008, -3/+1Too bad Arnie won't be coming back as Mr. Freeze.
Ice to meet you! - rumblestrut, on 07/16/2008, -0/+8Whew. Just breathed a sign of relief.
- TheCash, on 07/16/2008, -0/+4I'd like to see Freeze if he is as badass as he was in the animated series. That man had some baggage, but in an interesting and compelling way.
Seeing how he's already being setup in this latest installment, I'm gonna assume two face is going to be in the next one.- bluezinc, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2Frank Miller said the animated series is the closest he's seen to a true batman story outside of comics.
Mr. Freeze was so awesome in that series, whoever voiced him did a great job.- whahaa, on 07/16/2008, -0/+0him-- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Ansara
- bluezinc, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2Frank Miller said the animated series is the closest he's seen to a true batman story outside of comics.
- marine63, on 07/16/2008, -0/+3Ventriloquist and Scarface played by dick cheney and george bush hehehe
in all seriousness clayface would be cool :o - DetpackJump, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1I nominate a penisaur horde from the Spore dimension
- ejhdigdug, on 07/16/2008, -1/+3Maybe it will be 2 Face.
- cepultura, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2Thank God....
- Velnich, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2New territory? Yes please.
- withoutamartyr, on 07/16/2008, -1/+15I hope they steer away from the more gimmicky villains (Penguin, Mad Hatter, Killer Croc...) They need to bring in Harley Quinn, I think.
- solesoul, on 07/16/2008, -2/+1No, if they bring in Harley Quinn now, her associations with the Joker couldn't be made (unless they replace Heath Ledger...)
- TGMD, on 07/16/2008, -0/+3I remember reading that she's supposed to have a cameo in the dark knight.
It would be pretty badass, she's probably one of the most unique villains in the entire series. - GlitchEnzo, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1I disagree. I would love to have the Mad Hatter! A villian who can control people via technology (while having an unhealthy obsession with Alice in Wonderland) would be decent for a movie, in my opinion.
I would also love to have Clayface as a villian. Only if it's based on the animated series Clayface though.- withoutamartyr, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1If they bring the same kind of dark madness to Mad Hatter that they're bringing to the Joker, I can agree. Batman deals heavily with the ideas of fear and insanity, and Mad Hatter personifies it well; I guess I'm just afraid of him coming out too cartoony.
- connieLingus, on 07/16/2008, -1/+2maybe DC and Marvel should start mashing-up and let spider-man take on batman.
- faceless323, on 07/16/2008, -0/+8I think Dr. Harleen Quinzel would be amazing for Pt 3. They could make her an obsessed fan of the Joker. Another route would be her studying Joker and becoming immersed in his way of thinking. She becomes so obsessed with him that she becomes Harley Quinn.
I also want to see Bane.- RyogaVee, on 07/16/2008, -0/+0Go a step further and she digs up his body, idolizes him, in her quest to "Finish the job".
- kinerry, on 07/16/2008, -1/+3harlequinn...!!!
- Xihix, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2There are so many villains in the comics... Why limit yourself to the most popular ones, you know?
- artfiend77, on 07/16/2008, -1/+2Guys guys guys...it can only be Bookworm or Chandell in the next movie.
Liberace FTW!
http://listoftheday.blogspot.com/2008/02/batman-tv ... - bluezinc, on 07/16/2008, -0/+3Clayface anybody? Not as the main villain, but he'd make a cool side villain.
- jon30041, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1No. The side-villains thing, unless just a cameo to show the humdrum of Batman's life, will suck. Shocker would have been great in Spiderman as just some thug with amped up vibrators getting his ass kicked (think Ultimate Spiderman). If like that, sure. But if you want a detailed character, leave it at one. No need to clutter the screen.
- protard, on 07/16/2008, -0/+0Egghead would be eggcellent
- littlegoku, on 07/16/2008, -0/+5clayface!
- Scaryclouds, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1I was thinking the exact same thing!
- evilhomestereo, on 07/16/2008, -0/+1Black Mask? Seems not too absurd yet cool enough to be in the series.

- BlackJackJester, on 07/16/2008, -0/+5¿
- Yage2006, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2That/s good news. Its hard to write a serious script without it becoming silly if the penguin is involved.
- 5159, on 07/16/2008, -1/+3Hush. Riddler.
- jellydoughnut21, on 07/16/2008, -0/+2Harley Quinn would be rad, i also think Victor Zsasz could be a good fit for the universe and mood of the new movies. I think, for the most part, they will have to stay away from the more unbelievable villains, such as killer croc, and stick to the more crazed/serial killer type baddies.
- sd11208, on 07/16/2008, -2/+1me wants sex?
