- bitt3n, on 10/12/2007, -3/+86this is indeed excellent news. he will make a great lois lane.
- ahawks, on 10/12/2007, -6/+30I'm going to get buried for this probably, but oh well.
I am a long standing (since the age of about 3) Superman fan. As a kid, Superman shirts were about the only thing I wore. The Donner movies were my favorites (1,2, and sorta 3), though I also liked the Dean Cane series and for a while enjoyed Smallville.
Watching Superman Returns was an incredibly powerful experience for me. I felt like it was true to the Donner films, and exactly the way I felt Superman should be.
I'd ask what everyone has against Singer and Superman Returns, but I really don't care. I loved the movie, and I will gladly pay to see a sequel. Possibly more than once.
And as for the part that will get me buried, I have never really liked the X-Men, and while the movies were alright, I guess I just didn't have the X-Men history to keep my interest in them. - bmorrow, on 10/12/2007, -2/+24That Guy with the Bow in Lord of the Rings.
- Chompy, on 10/12/2007, -12/+32Dear Bryan Singer, please stop making ***** Superman movies so that you can get back to making awesome X-Men movies.
Love,
People Who Watch Movies - bblades, on 10/12/2007, -1/+11Knowing Jon Peters, maybe he will be the giant mechanical spider in the third act
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10No, apparently he's saying YOU would ***** Orlando Bloom.
- fowleryo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+10yeaaah.. it didn't say anything about him being superman. the title is just worked awkwardly.
- NSMike, on 10/12/2007, -1/+8Wouldn't this be a SuperGIRL movie?
- zip000, on 10/12/2007, -7/+14I thought "Superman Returns" was pretty good - no X-men (1 or 2 obviously, because 3 was deplorable), but pretty good.
- KaZe, on 10/12/2007, -11/+16Wait, they still have enough suck for a second movie?
- Spizzat2, on 10/12/2007, -2/+7That can only mean good things for 13 year old geeks.
- antifolkhero, on 10/12/2007, -5/+10Ugh, they pick the wimpiest losers to play super heroes these days. Orlando Bloom looks like Shakira.
- airborne99, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Orlando Bloom already lost the part of Aquaman, just give it to Vincent Chase.
- kehvin, on 10/12/2007, -3/+7He'd make a decent Zod. Got the accent, and dye his hair black and slick it back....yeah, I can see it.
- Persephone, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Sweet! Let's make the 13-year-old cheerleaders into DC Comics fans! Move over, Hilary Duff!
- rockyrobins, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2They're getting the "Make 7 Up Yours" guy? AWESOME!!!!!
- stefan24, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2when will the film directors and film assistance's figure out that Blando Gloom is just a plain rubbish actor. He was OK in lotr but only because he wasn't a really big part of it. Also he has the most unforgivable scene in one of the movies where he battling loads of ork or what ever then he slides down some steps on a shield like it was a snowboard, it's annoying me just thinking about it.
But whatever stick him in the movie it just another reason not to watch it the last one wasn't much fun, I think Spider man has been the only movie of a comic to do any good work. - jlebrech, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Just realised that he doesn't have to be Superman because he's in talks.
He'll probably be in tights with a bow and arrows, maybe the green arrow or something.
Or a bad guy. But who can he play as a bad guy, no idea. - bioskope, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Superman on the atkins diet in the next movie?????????
- Aooogah, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2He might make a good Bizarro... he'd only have to say a few words per line.
- iamronburgundy, on 10/12/2007, -3/+4Huh?
Anyway, Unless this dude is Machester Black....he's going to have be either a voice actor for some CGI character like Darkseid, or put on some weight like Routh did. - Mandeep, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3Was there a reason why you felt compelled to post such crap?
- Alchemeron, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1Dude, read the article. Orlando Bloom is not going to be Superman.
This isn't Slashdot. Digg blurbs have no editors. - n0ia, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1So was he talking to "Bryan Singer"? or Bryan Singer, cause you know, there's a "difference".
- Drakk0n, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2They could be doing the whole "justice league" crap and typecast him into the role of the green arrow or even worst hed be somebod liek the Flash
- Deegraww, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1I think the issue with Lex Luthor in the movies is that He is a ***** villain. It's always about getting land and stupid crimes like that. Also he is DIRT POOR in the movies. This is Lex ***** Luthor. He's a billionaire where are his skyscrapers and really nasty weapons against the true villain Superman. Casting for the roles I thought were good but the story behind them was just lame lame lame. Sorry went out on a rant there.
- docjeff, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2oh man, that was low! :)
- imnotquitesure, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3He could play an effeminate Bizzaro...
The true opposite to Superman. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -2/+2Better yet, Jayna from the Wonder Twins.
"Form of...mop!"
/Yes, I'm aware Jayna is the girl. - christianw, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1dear hollywood,
orlando bloom is an even worse actor than keanu reeves. there was nothing wrong w/ the last guy.
yours truely,
people that watch movies - Osjpr, on 10/12/2007, -1/+1lmao!
- DTJunkie07, on 10/12/2007, -3/+3more like Superboy
- Chull, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1In other news Richard Simmons is in contract negociations for the lead role in the next Superman Movie.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Isn't it high time that someone like Chris Rock plays Superman? Or Morgan Freeman?
- fatlip, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2god dammit, no! superman is NOT a pussy!
- erpscooter, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2How can Orlando Bloom be in a Superman movie? There are no blacksmith characters...
- notman, on 10/12/2007, -3/+2Marked as inaccurate... he is not going to be the next superman. He's only looking for a role in the movie.
- firedrillduckie, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Well, I can see Orlando Bloom as a super-villain. It'd be different... and Brandon Routh was a pretty OK superman for me.
What am I saying? They guy was beautiful, even if his acting wasn't amazing.
The action figures, however... they were just weird. I picked up one at Wal-mart, pushed the "S" on the chest, and I hear him say "...[something something] UP UP AND AWAY!" Sure, that's pretty normal, and I also expected all the "Whoosh" noises. What I didn't expect was that two seconds into the "whoosh," he says "Turn left." That's about all I can say about that. - Easty, on 10/12/2007, -4/+3Oh God.
Orland Bloom plays TWO characters. In his whole career. He is either:
'Sensitive' drippy *****, or
'Sensitive' drippy ***** who can fight a bit.
Looks like the latter. - jsoto81, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1If Brandon Routh isn't back for the next Superman movie then I'm not gonna see it, even if Singer directs the film. Bloom is not the right guy for the role, I agree he'd make a awesome villain though and that's something he's never done before.
- TheNevadaKid, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I heard Orlando Bloom was going to be playing a burnt out crack whore male prostitute who falls in love with Clark Kent and gives him BJs from 1,000 ft in the sky. Oh, and I heard he contracts Super Crabs from Kent and sells his story to the Daily Planet ruining Superman's career. This could set up a cool sequel.
- adc89, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1I hate that guy.
- OsakaWilson, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1He doesn't look like Superman.
- Alchemeron, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
- khoa1708, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0he can play bizarro
- Amylopan, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0Hmmm... I'm gonna guess Bloom plays either SuperGirl or Lana Lang, but that's just me.
- 3RNC77, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1They need to put Bizarro and another villian in. Bizarro thinking he's Superman and letting it slip about the kid to Jason would work well. He'd make a nice "Tragic Character" if written properly. It'd be cool for him to actually think he's Superman and come across as more confused and afflicted rather than vengeful. Rejected by the world... Clark's, Superman's and Lois'. Either Supes could take him down or he could sacrifice himself to save Jason or something redeeming along those lines...
- BooChihuahua, on 10/12/2007, -5/+4NOOOOOOOOO!
Orlando Bloom is the most boring actor ever! They are going to screw up Superman again! Idiots! - mykool, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1RFTA - No said he they were going to make him Superman. He might make a pretty cool antagonist. That would be a really cool carrier move IMHO.
- Osjpr, on 10/12/2007, -2/+1He started well. Unfortunately he should have shut his mouth after the first paragraph
