TELL ME WHERE THE BANDWIDTH IS!!! - praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -0/+38I was thinking about donating so I can put "Movie Producer" on my résumé.
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -1/+24Blink and you'll miss it.
- inspecality, on 10/12/2007, -1/+21Am I the only one who has no clue what this is? Can you even view the one second film?
- evand22, on 10/12/2007, -0/+14Love the concept! I am in at 51.51!
- anagoge, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15Ok, so let me get this straight because even after reading through the concept page, I'm still a little confused.
1) You donate a dollar.
2) The whole film is one second long.
3) 90 minutes of credits.
Is that right? Or is it one second contributed by everyone? Or am I missing something?
As great as an idea as it might be to be charitable, I really don't see how this is anything short of, well, boring? No one wants to sit through credits at the best of times, let alone 90 minutes of them. - dpknc84, on 10/12/2007, -1/+15The one second film is apparently on a one second uptime server. Sounds like a great concept though from what I am reading above.
- Modizzle, on 10/12/2007, -1/+13What the hell is going on?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11They will put it into the cinema, the 1 second film will show, and the "main feature" will be the credits. It is a documentary of making the 1 second film, the idea of it etc, the whole time they are playing credits.
- Spikito, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11i dunno, i always stay in the theatre and read all the funny names.
- op12, on 10/12/2007, -0/+11For those that don't know, IMDb was listing all of the producers, but then recently removed all of them saying it was too time-consuming for them to enter so many credits for a single film and not get to do the updates on other films, so they've stopped listing producer credits. However, they have suggested they may allow for a bulk update of all producer credits once the film is complete.
- signal15, on 10/12/2007, -1/+12That's not your navel, and that ain't bean dip. Turn over.
- bigtomrodney, on 10/12/2007, -3/+11eh, MySpace is a bunch of amateurs...
- godfreyfolsom, on 10/12/2007, -1/+9I think Kiefer should have donated a little more to the webserver fund.
- GhostWithToast, on 10/12/2007, -6/+13this is an amazing idea! open source filmmaking. in.
- oneredpaperclip, on 10/12/2007, -3/+10Best idea ever!
- skankyBacon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+6"um, this goes to the global fund for women?
why? are women really still that oppressed in america that they need charity orginzations to help them out?"
Apparently you missed the word "global." - oneredpaperclip, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5I think you missed the point you can be a Hollywood producer for a dollar - credited along about 100+ A list celebs! Where else can you produce Films with Kevin Bacon for a dollar?
PS - and it's fun. - skankyBacon, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4Who says "hotmexican" is a girl?
- MalDON, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5You don't have a boyfriend...
Everyone knows there are no girls on t3h interwebs! - flwrchld, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Sooo good. Coolest idea for a charity I've ever seen.
- spinemangler, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Pauly Shore that cheap bastard. Just because its says $1 doesn't mean you only have to give a dollar. He's lucky Jack Bauer doesn't know he only gave a buck.
- SalliSugar, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5Will there be a candy counter at the premiere? Oh, I really like candy!
- AwesomeMonster, on 10/12/2007, -1/+5I don't care about your boyfriend or what he loves.
- diblasio, on 10/12/2007, -0/+4http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/One_Second_Film
- praisethelard, on 06/06/2008, -0/+4Yeah, I believe the 1 second film is a few frames from a bunch of paintings of a woman having an orgasm.
- retral, on 10/12/2007, -11/+14Stop trying to Chuck Norrify Kiefer Sutherland!
- Kilroy2004, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3Here's what's going on. For just $1 you too can be just one degree from Kevin Bacon:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Six_Degrees_of_Kevin_Bacon - MalDON, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3One of the frame painters was my video teacher for a year. Take that!
- cuoops, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3heh, Scott Shui donated 666
- Nadsofed, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3This is awesome.
Stupid brain, you should've thought of this already. - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3It's a Canadian thing. Yet as a Canadian I don't even know.
- VANOS, on 10/12/2007, -0/+3From their website ( http://www.globalfundforwomen.org/cms/content/blogcategory/88/199/ ):
The Global Fund makes grants to seed, strengthen and link women's rights groups based outside the United States working to address human rights issues that include:
* Ending Gender-Based Violence and Building Peace
* Ensuring Economic and Environmental Justice
* Advancing Health and Sexual and Reproductive Rights
* Expanding Civic and Political Participation
* Increasing Access to Education
* Fostering Social Change Philanthropy - Azap, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3The creator came to my school, i am a producer and i have a frame of the film on a business card, you rock!
- cosmothx, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2I don't exactly understand what this is. The site went down when i was browsing it.
I did notice Stephen Colbert donated $11 American.
http://www.the1secondfilm.com/producer/1005 - Kilroy2004, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2correction:
4) Donate to charity! - inactive, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2 I would think Steve Buscemi would donate more then $1 since he got his start in indie films.
- IamTheProfessor, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I wish I knew the meaning of $600.23 The only thing I can think of is the numbers look like it spells GOOSE or BOOZE. But what the hell do I know? Anyone have an idea?
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -3/+5Well your intelligence seems to indicate otherwise.
Judging by your writing skills you seem FAR to smart to be a H'Wood producer!! - erkman27, on 10/12/2007, -0/+2The 1 Second Film is an amazing achievement to which Nirvan and everyone involved should be very proud! I certainly am proud to be a part of it and I'm thrilled the new site has finally launched so that IMDB will hopefully give it renewed respect!
- HollieTheMom, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1YEAH 1 Second Film bringing the world togeather 1 Second at a time!
- inactive, on 10/12/2007, -4/+5um, this goes to the global fund for women?
why? are women really still that oppressed in america that they need charity orginzations to help them out? - elev, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1I don't think even Google knows what it means:
http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&q=60023+OR+600.23 - reiner15, on 10/12/2007, -2/+3180 seconds loading time for a 1 second movie? This ratio sucks.
- helenalbo, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1This is such a great web.2.0 idea, I really love and who knows I might even get into the film business
- mikeydmikey, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Great idea!!
- Kai02, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1How much money do you think the project will raise? Any Guesses!
