- thepooking, on 06/16/2009, -1/+93I really hope Batman 3 gets made only with the vision of Chris Nolan. If not, I'd like to see a revamp and let Nolan's films stand alone as Nolan's masterpiece. And for the love of god. DO NOT HIRE BRETT RATNER!

Christopher Nolan has said time and time again, he won't do it until he has the right script, or at least story concept (because Jonathan Nolan can take any story concept and turn it into gold). The studio might have a list of replacements, but the first thing they're going to do is bend over backwards trying to find that compelling script. They'd be smarter to wait a year to ensure Christopher Nolan's participation, than ruin the franchise and alienating him by going with another director.
Nolan just made a movie that pulled in $1 billion just in the theaters. He could tell the studio that he wants three diamond encrusted chariots to take him and his two underage whores to the set every day, and they'd be idiots not to find a way to make that happen. - dsmx, on 06/17/2009, -0/+63Visions of Michael Bay directing batman 3 are beginning to surface.
- lewystud, on 06/17/2009, -1/+54a third film should only be made if Nolan can give it the same level of care
- archaist, on 06/17/2009, -1/+39I agree with his strategy. Like any true artist, he is concerned first and foremost with the integrity of his work.
God bless this man. - Seomann, on 06/17/2009, -2/+34Nowadays its more about the directors then the actors. And Chris Nolan is the best of the best.
To me there is no Batman without Chris Nolan. - wilc8650, on 06/17/2009, -1/+30"Armageddon 2: Armageddon"
- MikeOxbigg, on 06/17/2009, -9/+30And yet at the very least 3 more Twilights.
Your move, non-atheists. Show me your God! - mywhitenoise, on 06/17/2009, -1/+21Don't even bother with a third film then.
"according to BoF's source, adding that the Joker was envisioned as the villain in the third film" I wish they could have made 3 more films with just Joker as the villain. - stevenr21, on 06/17/2009, -2/+21the answer is clear... bring in Joel Schumacher!!
- jaybol, on 06/17/2009, -0/+18Why not? You don't want to see Paul Walker as Batman?
- helipilot, on 06/17/2009, -4/+21You could have just called for theists instead of non-atheists.
- PandaOnIce, on 06/17/2009, -1/+17I honestly can't see another director taking over for a third Batman movie. To me, it has to be Nolan or nothing.
- JoeyNine, on 06/17/2009, -2/+18Agreed, I think the story ark was complete. Also, it's a little hard to top what they have done with both Batman Begins and Dark Knight. They are both pretty damned flawless. That being said, only Nolan could do it.
Why do we need a third movie anyway? - arunforce, on 06/17/2009, -4/+20NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO-
Seriously, if WB wanted to, they could buy him out. I doubt he could refuse 100 million or whatever. - TeeBaagz, on 06/17/2009, -0/+14Insanely retarded.
- CoreyTamas, on 06/17/2009, -2/+16God, no. We don't need his vision of "Bruce Wayne and the Chocolate Factory", thanks.
- TurboBeard, on 06/17/2009, -0/+13needs more boobs.
- JoeHague, on 06/17/2009, -6/+19If he doesn't want to do it I'll do it. Here's what i got so far-
In the first scene, Catwoman(who is as sexual as the Joker was crazy) kicks Batman in the vocal chords rendering him speechless for the rest of the film.
That's all I got - burningrobot, on 06/16/2009, -0/+12Hopefully there'll be a next movie.
- MrMugoo, on 06/17/2009, -0/+12Take all the time you ***** need Chris, take all the money your silly little head can imagine. Ill throw down my ten dollars again.
It's worth the wait to make sure it comes out right. - cambob76, on 06/17/2009, -0/+11NO NO NO!!!! Just keep feeding him Transformers scripts!!!
- MrMugoo, on 06/17/2009, -3/+14Hey ***** You
- Sabretou, on 06/17/2009, -1/+12Darren Aronofsky should direct Batman, he'd make it the most depressingly intense Batman movie ever.
- De4our, on 06/17/2009, -0/+11I agree as well.
God bless this man, his three diamond encrusted chariots, and his two underage whores.
Christopher Nolan, a man of integrity! - LimeParrot, on 06/17/2009, -0/+9Good. Nolan has awesome standards and I don't want him to ever abandon that.
- Shaggy3, on 06/17/2009, -0/+9No no, in this movie an asteroid twice the size of the sun is about to collide with the sun and explode. They (they, meaning a resurrected Bruce Willis) manage to blow the asteroid up by causing the biggest manmade explosion in history, which in turn causes the sun to explode anyway (this explosion by the way is comparable to the big bang). BUT thankfully, the force from this explosion propels the earth (and moon) safely into another galaxy while the people of earth watch the milky way explode, one star at a time.
- N01SE, on 06/17/2009, -0/+9The second was such a masterpiece, I don't think any subsequent batman movie would top it. Seriously, the second was not just a great comic book movie, it was an extremely well-written movie with great social commentary. I wouldn't want a third one to risk polluting that.
- ichbinladen, on 06/17/2009, -2/+9Maybe McG can do it, he did great things for Terminator: Salvation.... He ***** it up that is.
- thinboyslim, on 06/17/2009, -0/+6Basically there were 3 years between Begins and TDK and there will be 3 years between TDK and Batman3. I doubt Nolan will drop out if he is actually taking the time to develop ideas with his brother and Goyer. The only reason this is a story is because nobody has had anything to write about batman in the last 6 months.
- JustLetGo, on 06/17/2009, -0/+6But it was only the second act. It even ends like a second act.
- trafficlight, on 06/17/2009, -1/+7I need that.
- wrathbone, on 06/17/2009, -5/+11I don't agree with you at all. Heath Ledger's performance wasn't from the directing.
- TheMikey, on 06/17/2009, -0/+4You know.. Joel Schumacher thought the same thing...
- arashamedani, on 06/17/2009, -0/+5As long as she has Kitty-Cat gloves to cover up those thumbs.
- pixelate, on 06/17/2009, -0/+5whatever, bro
- wreckage21, on 06/17/2009, -0/+5With the ending to TDK, surely there's a sequel to be made...
- EdgarG8, on 06/17/2009, -0/+5Same thing is going to happen that happened after the last Batman franchise. Tim Burton left and the next thing you know its Batman on ice and has nipples on his bat body armor.
- tgrokz, on 06/17/2009, -0/+5and the job goes to........uwe boll!
- pipedreambomb, on 06/17/2009, -1/+6That's hard to say if you've never been offered a hundred million dollars. I mean, that could buy a whole island filled with cocaine and hookers. He's only human.
- CoreyTamas, on 06/17/2009, -0/+5Alright, alright. I kinda do, too.
- azizrulez, on 06/17/2009, -0/+4batman meets optimus prime?
- ClevelandBrown, on 06/17/2009, -1/+5Look what happened to X-Men: The Last Stand and you should damn well be concerned.
- SoulGrub, on 06/17/2009, -1/+5You're not heretical, you're just dumb. :)
- BrownieMix, on 06/17/2009, -0/+4Nolan said he plans on using the Riddler and Black Mask, I was looking forward to seeing his interpretations of these characters. Would not be the same without Nolan as director and writer. You just need Chris Nolan.
- EGOvoruhk, on 06/17/2009, -1/+5As long as it's just Christopher and Jonathan on the script, it will be perfect. They seriously need to keep Goyer away. The Begins script is terrible compared to The Dark Knight, and once you look at the credits, you can see why
- priegog, on 06/17/2009, -2/+5You know, I'm normally open to people having their own oppinions about movies and all, but in this case, you saying that only makes me think of 3 scenarios:
a) you have an irrational grudge against heath ledger
b) you went to the teather with your gf and therefore didn't really SEE the movie
c) you are the kind of person that's waiting for the fast and the furios V movie to come out more eagerly than you await your graduation.
I don't normally like to get on the conformist bandwagon either, but there are some things universally good: The silence of the lambs, memento, fight club.
That is all. - shiftkgb, on 06/17/2009, -0/+3Keep waiting.
- protonone, on 06/17/2009, -0/+3Until there is a signed contract, there is never a guarantee that a movie will be made. This really isn't news to me.
