- whiteknives, on 01/18/2008, -6/+116I just wet myself.
- nightsweat, on 01/18/2008, -3/+92Don't phaser me, bro!
- Insignian, on 01/18/2008, -3/+83When I went to go see Cloverfield and saw this I thought I just got my moneys worth.

- califortune, on 01/18/2008, -9/+62Roddenberry always wanted to go FORWARD, never backward. This is why he installed Rick Berman to oversee the franchise so many years ago, because he was convinced Berman could continue the forward momentum, and frankly, Enterprise failing was a mere splash in the ocean of achievements he, Michael Piller, Brannon Braga, Jeri Taylor and others brought to the franchise over decades. I really think the hype of fans being upset with them a few years ago was greatly exaggerated. Nemesis wasn't even bad. It was supposed to be part 1 of a 2-part story, but it was never allowed to finish! (Original TOS films have continuing storylines, even trilogies! not to mention a glorious sendoff in VI with signatures flying into space; it must be nice for fans of THAT show.) I think the point a lot of TNG fans want to make is: Star Trek XI may end up being awesome, but it truly came too soon. Eleven would've best served the franchise by finishing off the last saga of Picard and his crew. Bring Data back through B4, use Q as an original (and ultimate) movie villain, or perhaps The Borg again. Have a massive fleet battle. Have Riker come save the day on the U.S.S. Titan, the "honorary" Enterprise-F. (See the Roddenberry-style forward motion of thinking here?) Wesley Crusher is even supposed to be the Chief Engineer of Titan. Imagine the possibilities here...They could destroy the Enterprise-E like Enterprise from Star Trek III: The Search For Spock. Give TNG the sendoff it deserves. All I can say is, if we can at least get some kind of movie like that, I'll be willing to wait through J.J.'s stories. Think we TNG "kids" can call dibs on XII or XIII? Seriously though, Patrick Stewart is not getting any younger...
- hammradio, on 01/18/2008, -3/+49I'm glad we finally got the movie we were waiting for. The movie about the construction workers striking while building the Enterprise. Starring Winona Ryder as Norma Ray
- CrimsonBlur, on 01/18/2008, -1/+46I thought it sounded pretty good with Patrick Stewart saying it for the TNG intro...
- t3hCyborg, on 01/18/2008, -8/+52Reading Digg and Reddit too much. Thought that said 'taser.'
- markp93, on 01/18/2008, -2/+32don't be such a Spock-tease
- Butros, on 01/18/2008, -0/+29What like James T Kirk is at his graduation party and Spock is handycamming it before there is a loud bang and a piece of the Golden Gate bridge crashes down outside? Roddenberry would roll in his grave so fast it would reverse time or something.
- Greatn3ss, on 01/18/2008, -3/+31God help me I got chills
- lhbaker, on 01/18/2008, -1/+29My wife's gonna be so thrilled I might even get some action out of this.
- PabloIV, on 01/18/2008, -0/+27Hey anything that'll get Jonathan Frakes into the gym and Wil Wheaton out of the blogosphere is fine with me.
- Klarth, on 01/18/2008, -1/+27We don't do signatures here.
- joits, on 01/18/2008, -3/+27and so you have learnt the definition of a teaser trailer... congrats!
- davewelsh79, on 01/18/2008, -4/+27Looks like some kind of malware site to me.
- reclusiveraider, on 01/18/2008, -17/+40worst quality ever....
- Laputian, on 01/18/2008, -1/+20And the pot just called the kettle black.
- zephc, on 01/18/2008, -2/+20BEEP BEEP
- notlenny2, on 01/18/2008, -4/+21Archer was Captain of the NX-01 not NCC-1701. Different ship, different starfleet.....
Wow, i really should be a virgin - >mark, on 01/18/2008, -1/+17It's called Firefly/Serenity
- inactive, on 01/18/2008, -1/+16Not much of a Star trek fan, but they have my attention. Looks like 08 is JJ's year.
(...can't wait for LOST) - afx1, on 01/18/2008, -2/+17yep it's a malware site
- Vachon, on 01/18/2008, -1/+15Enterprise was not about the first warp capable ship, but the first Star Fleet ship capable of warp 5.
- Brakamow, on 01/18/2008, -1/+15Apparently you haven't seen Star Trek III: The Search for Spock.
- inactive, on 01/18/2008, -4/+17"Space...the final frontier..."
Doesn't sound quite right without Shatner saying it
But I sure hope this movie is awesome. - >mark, on 01/18/2008, -1/+14I really want this to be good
- manitoba98xp, on 01/19/2008, -0/+13Okay, here we go. The first warp-capable ship was Zefram Cochrane's "Phoenix". It was not part of Starfleet.
Starfleet DOES exist at the time of Enterprise, and Enterprise is not Starfleet's first warp-capable ship, but the first NX-class ship (capable of Warp 5). Starfleet is, at that time, Earth's quasimilitary space fleet. The Federation does not exist yet (Archer helps create it, not Starfleet).
Does that clear it all up? - pinstripewizard, on 01/18/2008, -3/+15I guess this means someone has a cam of cloverfield online...
- rurounikengyrl, on 01/19/2008, -2/+14hahaha is it a supplemental log?
- idbjoshm, on 01/18/2008, -2/+14I saw this when I saw Cloverfield. Some smartass in the back yelled "Yay! New Star Wars!"
- joits, on 01/18/2008, -4/+15i'm not a star trek fan but damn i want to see this movie... great casting and i'm already a huge fan of jj abrams! this is gonna be cool...
- Neiby, on 01/18/2008, -0/+11I have high hopes for this one, though. We'll see. Wrath of Khan is definitely the standard. It sets the bar pretty high, at least as far as Star Trek movies go.
- Klarth, on 01/18/2008, -1/+12Two yeses?!
- jhuebel, on 01/19/2008, -1/+12Your wife is turned on by Star Trek? Does she have a sister?
- DiggDuggDone, on 01/18/2008, -1/+11OK, that just gave me headache (and possible paradox): What kind of result do you get when you handy cam a movie in the theatre's that's a movie about a handy cam found on the streets of NYC?
Oh right, "Blair RUN GOD DAMM!T, RUN! Project" without one stable shot.
God help you if the movie goers starts eating popcorn... - alphaterminus, on 01/18/2008, -4/+14Pedo!
- Crosshare, on 01/18/2008, -1/+11I've never wanted to post a picture of pedobear as bad as right now.
- 0crabby0, on 01/19/2008, -1/+11Who in the hell uses stick welding now?
The could've used magnetic pulse welding, or at least some welding robots. - CrimsonBlur, on 01/18/2008, -2/+11Why? No sound whatsoever is boring. 2001 got away with it because of the type of movie it was and because it's Kubrick, but action sequences in space with no sound would not be very exciting. Anyway, it's been done, Serenity/Firefly had no sound in the space sequences. They got away with having sound effects in the climactic battle in Serenity because it took place in the atmosphere of a planet, and I have to say I'm glad. As far as no gravity, what would be the point of that? It would get old watching people float around instead of walking real fast.
- SkippyDoorknob, on 01/18/2008, -1/+10That's all there is to see.
- jads, on 01/18/2008, -2/+112 (Wrath of Khan) and 6 (Undiscovered Country) were the best of the bunch. 8 (First Contact) was the only good next-gen one.
- inactive, on 01/18/2008, -3/+12Berman-Braga ***** Star Trek. Roddenberry was known for his bad decision making. The director/writer of Wrath of Khan told him he 'wouldn't know a good story if it was tattooed on the end of his prick'. The people who made TOS great were the other writers, not Roddenberry. Props to him for the vision, but his story writing was *****, and his vision for the series was limited.
- Me1000, on 01/18/2008, -1/+10HOW?
I mean you cant even figure out what it is about! - SRSco, on 01/19/2008, -2/+11you're*

- windmillninja, on 01/18/2008, -2/+11Dugg for beating me to it.
- peagle, on 01/18/2008, -2/+11It's there to provide a juxtaposition of raw old fashioned labor with that of a shiny futuristic spacecraft, giving it "soul".
- SkippyDoorknob, on 01/18/2008, -1/+9You could be right, but on the other hand this movie is being made by a totally different group of people that the previous Treks.
