- popzero, on 05/01/2009, -0/+42Attending Starfleet Academy would rock, until you graduated as a Redshirt.
- harrythe3rd, on 05/02/2009, -0/+41I personally think Sylar looks like a good Spock.
- FearlessFreep, on 05/02/2009, -0/+32Why does this movie keep reminding me of "Muppet Babies"?? Take an original story of many characters of various ages from diverse backgrounds and backstories and sorta flatten them all out to be kids together
- gumballer, on 05/02/2009, -2/+33OMG Sylar killed Nimoy and took his powers.
- Ytliek, on 05/02/2009, -0/+11I'm so excited to see this movie in about a week!
- strad2, on 05/02/2009, -2/+11They showed a teaser clip for Star Trek during this week's Lost... it was basically Kirk being chased by a monster, and then a bigger monster eating the smaller monster and taking up the chase... reminded me of the underwater scene in one of the new Star Wars films. It was deeply stupid.
- subtrafusel, on 05/02/2009, -0/+8I concur.
- fraggle35, on 05/02/2009, -0/+7I'm going to break my vow never to go to a cinema again to see this, so it better be good.

- Colony, on 05/02/2009, -1/+6They redesigned the bridge to look like an Apple Store. I can't think of any functional reason for that, other than it's "modern." Being modern for the sake of being modern is not a good thing. The Star Wars prequels did the same thing, and we all know how well that turned out.
- ChinaLumberjack, on 05/02/2009, -0/+5Yeah, apparently money can't buy you in!
- HooyahUSN, on 05/02/2009, -1/+5this movie was amazing. i did the quality control for it b4 it gets sent out to the theaters and it blew my mind
- jedicor, on 05/02/2009, -0/+4They redesigned the bridge to look futuristic as compared to what we have now. The same reason that Star Wars did it.
Fifty years ago, push-buttons and levers and big wafer-sized memory cards were easily conceivable as futuristic. Graphical displays were all but impossible under the budget, so only the view screen was ever really seen. Instead, you had oddly distinct beeps and clicks to make up for it. Back then, the concept of simple button-based controls powering a starship was probably as amazing as this new bridge was to us. A computer back then was massive and woefully underpowered, so the idea that Spock and Uhura were consulting simple displays in a viewport was amazing.
Fifty years later, we have LCD and holographic displays becoming routine, with motion controlled interfaces and memory cards the size of a thumbnail that hold a billion trillion times what we conceived of back then. Display screens are cheap and simple, and so now the bridge is full of displays and views of different things. Now, computers fit in cellphones and do more than they ever could have imagined. - Georgy, on 05/02/2009, -1/+5I hope to god you're being sarcastic...you cant be on digg and be this ignorant...
- inactive, on 05/02/2009, -0/+3dude are you serious?!?!
- RaulMuadDib, on 05/02/2009, -0/+3The shirts are easier to reuse.
- RaulMuadDib, on 05/02/2009, -1/+4Spock looks like Sylar
- RaulMuadDib, on 05/02/2009, -0/+3I give you a digg -
... and reserve the right to change the score after viewing how other people digg you - MizuhoChan, on 05/03/2009, -0/+2Seriously lying.
- matrage, on 05/02/2009, -0/+2I couldn't agree more! Every time I see shot of the bridge I am compelled to buy an ipod.
- jpop, on 05/02/2009, -0/+2So, are you saying that Kirk's going to get nuked in a fridge in this movie?
- Jeepy, on 05/02/2009, -1/+3Come on guys the new Star Trek movie is an ST movie for people who aren't trek fans, duh. Just like Indiana Jones 4 was an Indiana Jones movie for people who weren't fans...oh wait.
They should just go ahead and put it in the tag line "If you hate Star Trek, you'll love this movie!" - FreddieD, on 05/02/2009, -0/+2Every time I see Sulu in the movie, I'm going to wait for him to yell at Kumar for getting them into hot water with his wacky yet lovable antics.
- lroche, on 05/02/2009, -0/+2Not looking at the pictures! Thursday is so far away....
- MonkeyNews, on 05/02/2009, -0/+2Going by the shows, it looks harder to get into than an Ivy League.
- dhughes, on 05/02/2009, -0/+1 He needs a shave, do Vulcans shave? Picture them at Earth at Wal-Mart buying the cheap shaving cream since it would be illogical to pay more!
- purplesun2, on 05/02/2009, -0/+1I love Star Trek. I saw a sneak peak of the film today. It was fantastic.
- dead56k, on 05/02/2009, -3/+4***** yeahhhh.
don't care what the haters say, this is gonna be good. - blacktriangle, on 05/02/2009, -0/+1Yep, their called 'red shirts'.
- kreatre2007, on 05/03/2009, -0/+1Why does everyone bash the Star Wars prequals? They kicked ass at the box office, so most people must have liked them. I thought they were awesome. I started out watching Episode IV, so I've been a Star Wars fan from the beginning. The only thing that I didn't like about the prequals was that dumb ass Jar Jar Binks. That character was totally useless. Otherwise, the prequals were awesome. This new ST movie looks good. It looks like it will not follow Star Trek canon... To that, I say, so what? If the movie is good, who cares if they screwed with the story a bit?
- inactive, on 05/02/2009, -0/+1Waka waka.
- TaintBrush, on 05/02/2009, -4/+5I saw the film already. As a generic hollywood action movie it was okay, but as a Star Trek movie it sucked. A lot.
- jlebrech, on 05/02/2009, -0/+1ensigns
- lurrker, on 05/02/2009, -0/+1As long as Jar-Jar isn't in it, I'm watching it.
- Remelox, on 05/04/2009, -0/+1My problem is not with the screwing with some of the canon but when they do it for no reason. Having not seen the movie, I will reserve judgement. But the bridge had to change. I'm sure that whatever it looks like is still primitive compared to what will be possible even 100 years from now. Currently being developed in real life, no longer in the lab:
Wafer thin color e-paper capable of video quality
Multi-touch on almost any material
Morphing keyboards that change physical keys according to the screen
Various 3-D technologies, many requiring no head gear
Things that may not have needed to be changed:
How characters met (some was canon)
Where the Enterprise was built
Spock digging around in people's heads to gain their super-powers
Looks like I'll like the movie even if they don't explain some of the changes but still... - flossdaily, on 05/02/2009, -0/+1I hope that people keep putting out more and more spoilers like this one, so that by the time I watch the movie I won't be surprised by anything!
- HooyahUSN, on 05/02/2009, -0/+1yes im serious :) enjoy it when you see it! im gonna see it again when it comes out
- Liembo, on 05/03/2009, -0/+1Saw a screening today, it was exceptional. Left me wanting to experience more of the new actors of the old characters. Character development isn't the right word, since we already know the end result, but its cool to see new faces take their places, one of the characters was particularly late into the movie and I was a bit disappointed about that. Another character was great but they laid on his quips a bit thick, and a few were developed in a way that make their TOS versions a bit flat so I really want to see their background explored some more hopefully in another installment.
- Tarkaan, on 05/03/2009, -0/+1TBPH, all through TOS, I thought James T. Kirk was the one going where no man had gone before.
- bluddystool, on 05/03/2009, -0/+0From one clip I saw, Karl Urban played Bones pretty well. So if this movie turns out to be terrible, I'll just focus on Urban playing DeForest Kelly.
- Jamegarc1979, on 05/03/2009, -0/+0This is awesome!
- strad2, on 05/02/2009, -0/+0Was it the pointy ears that won you over?
- elucidinfo, on 05/09/2009, -0/+0GREAT MOVIE, i even got a free star trek background for my twitter page, WOOT! it's at http://tweetcustom.com Get one if you seen the movie.
