New Spiderman 3 Trailer

retrocrush.com — Not the teaser, has actual footage from movie. ( http://www.ifilm.com/presents/spiderman3 ) Link should have an "HD" version but, I have heard some errors from people. YMMV.

      It can't live up to spiderman 2, the doc octopus actor was amazing.

    They could have had The Sandman do some other bad thing.
    That TOTALLY ruins his growth as a character. All he learned from the dead Thug, the "With great power comes great responsibility" is lost. Hollywood sucks sometimes.

    I think it might have something to do with so many people trying to access it.

  • elastikos, on 10/12/2007, -8/+2The first one does not hold up to repeat viewings, and the second one didn't hold up to one screening for me. The teaser was much better than this, the effects look pretty average at this stage. And the voice overs were terrible, Toby sounds like a 5 year old.

      The director has already stated this COULD be the last one. He said something to the effect of "This may be the last one, but if it is, ill be satisfied that we left it like we did". Also, venom IS in the movie, but the trailer(s) leave me to believe he will be in it like 10 mins MAX.

    My only worry is that they are sticking too much into one movie. All the villains could have an entire movie dedicated just to them but instead they decided to stick them all in one movie. Venom is one of my favorite villains and it is too bad they didn't just give him his own movie =

    • Kardde, on 10/12/2007, -0/+5Towards the end of the trailer, Parker (in the red Spidey suit) is surrounded by black webbing. Mary Jane is also stuck in black webbing. And Parker (again in red Spidey suit, but it's very torn up) is being choked by a piece of black webbing.

      So, yeah, guess whose web that is?

      Venom will definitely be in the movie, and it looks like there'll be a fight scene.

      Why couldn't they just go with the story in the comics? I don't know what the story is since I haven't read the comics, but it's probably better.

  • Eleo, on 10/12/2007, -1/+3I have to say, I'm disappointed by the lack of advancement in the CG work. Some of the web-slinging or action scenes still lack a lot of weight and believability, which I would have thought they'd have improved upon over the past few years.

    It looks like the movie will be pretty good, though. The past two stories have been well-written.

    Actually, Venom might not be in this one. He certainly wasn't in the trailer at all - that was simply Spidey in the new costume. The symbiote attaches to Eddie Brock after Parker rejects it, who then becomes Venom.

    Which is great news, really. The Venom 'saga' provided the best comics (IMO). It deserves an entire movie, and is not something to be crammed into 90 minutes while Spidey fights the Sandman. If X-Men can drag the Phoenix saga over two movies, Spider-Man should do just fine introducing the symbiote in this movie, then have it evolve into Venom in part 4, which I'm now going to claim is the best Spider-Man movie of them all :)

Thats why (i bet) he plays a very minor role in this one. If there DOES end up being another SM movie and he IS a villan in it, i guarantee you he wont be the only one (cause he doesnt die).

Which leads me to believe that there is a final fight with Venom and there's no way they're leaking any footage of that.
      The trailer looks good but having the whole movie only center on a pissed off Harry about getting his face disfigured by a pumpkin bomb then fighting Peter the whole movie with the Sandman on his ass as well doesn't put it over the top like a one on one with Venom.

      I didn't think they'd want to show one of the closing scenes in the trailer, with the bell and all that. Though, I suppose if you aren't familiar with the story arc, then it doesn't mean anything to you.

      Shame about the Sandman thing... I wonder how they plan to work it into the story, as Peter already killed the thug in first movie didn't he?

      Hope to see it opening night.

    It seems like from this trailer that venom wont even be in the movie but for a VERY short time - maybe all of 10-15 mins. I mean, if i were the director and venom wasnt in the movie much at all, i would advertise him in a trailer either at the risk of disappointing fans over misleading them. There seems to be a lot of other stuff going on already. I bet he [venom] show up in brock-form with less than 20 mins to go in the movie.

  • BevansDesign, on 10/12/2007, -1/+2Apparently, in addition to Sandman, Venom, and Green Goblin (or is that Hobgoblin?), recent rumors say that Mysterio will make some sort of cameo appearance (played by Bruce Campbell). But...that's just a rumor.

    Also, I'm pretty sure I heard that the final fight will be between Spider Man and Spider Ham.

    (I made up that last one.)

    First...don't make up stuff if something already works, and has worked for the past 50 years use it. Spiderman 1 and 2 were basically how Spiderman came to be...straight from the Comic Books.

    Second...Do Not Reinvent the Character...Spiderman is who Spiderman is...If you read the comics you do not miss a beat in the movies...Superman having a kid is so far left field it is not even funny.

    Third...take successful comic book story lines and use those as your story lines...they did not fail in print, they should not fail in Theatres..

  • alexthemonster, on 10/12/2007, -0/+1Of all the sites Sony Columbia gives exclusive access to such a popular commodity, they had to choose iFilm. One of the clunkiest and least relevant video nests out there. And so far, every time I go to the site the trailer fails to load.

    I mean, Apple's trailer site could handle this bandwidth demand easily. But these days it seems like only crummy movies give them any exclusives (not counting the natural Pixar connection). You know, because I really give a rat's ass about "A Good Year."

Those films happened before the DC Comic book CRISIS and that Superman is not the same Superman that appears every week in various titles.

    I guess Bryan Singer knew enough about Superman to not read any comic books.

Use the story lines from what is historically Superman. Pre-Crisis, Crisis, Post-Crisis is not the point. The first two Spider-Man (yipes...that was a mistake on my part) are what the original story line of Spider-Man is. (hangin participle...i hate those). Bryan Singer has actually said he was not a comic book reader until he started with With X-Men ( I guess Marvel likes the "-" in their heroes/villains names). All I was gettin at was that the Spider-Man peeps used a story that has stood the test of time, and did not complicate it. (another hanging participle) If they make another Superman movie they should do that as well.

      I think MJ's husband-to-be(or -was), that astronaut guy, is the Carnage in the comics so maybe we'll get a chance to see him. But since the writers messed around with the canon a bit, maybe he'll BE the one to wear the Venom symbiote.

      In the trailer Aunt May says "Vengence is Poison", and because Spiderman is consumed by poison (vengence for Uncle Ben's death), he becomes a type of poison - hence a venom. And this 'venom' starts killing all the things around him (mainly relationship with his friends). Osborne vengence against Peter for his dad's death. Peter vengence against sandman for his Uncle's death (who he looked up as a father). I think the true unexpected hero in this movie might end up being Mary Jane.

      (I think its very philosophical..) I can't wait.

  • Alagorn, on 10/12/2007, -1/+0I remember when kirsten dunst slipped up in an interview and said that the climax of the movie involves a fatal four way between spidey, venom, harry and sandman so venom should make a nice appearance. it would be cool if in number four venom and spidey team to fight carnage. that would rock!! also would anyone like to see a spiderman and xmen film. i liked the series of comics and think it would make a nice addition to both series!
